The Harvest Usurper's Arrogance 2022
It is a busy time in Stanislas Town, at the turn of October. People are bustling to hang decorations, giving the streets a mysterious, eerie air. While you lazily eye the spooky ornaments, your mind turns to... sweeter matters. It's almost time to go trick-or-treating, and the whole town takes this very seriously. You wouldn't believe the rush in candy stores-of which the town houses plenty-right around this time of the year!
Gather around, Trainers, and don't forget your blankets with eyes hastily cut in! You will never forget this night...

Signup Process
- During the month of October 2022 in UST, your first signup to challenge each difficulty costs nothing.
- Use the Casual Discussion Thread to find a teammate, and to coordinate the division of goals with other teams!
- Signups for Hard Mode begin on the 19th of the signup month in UST. Only players who have been scored for Normal Mode may sign up for Hard Mode.
- Signups from the same player, to challenge a difficulty they have already attempted, cost 8 JC.
- Signups after the event's signup month additionally require that a Harvest Event Voucher be spent per player per challenge.
- Each player may sign up for a single run at a time.
- As an exception, if a player's signup post seeking a teammate for their first challenge (for that mode) is at least 24 hours old, another player can start a second concurrent challenge to pair up with that seeking player.
- Challenge signups that haven't been taken by a referee by the end of November 2022 UST, except for challenges made using a Harvest Event Voucher, will expire and become invalid.
- Harvest Event Vouchers are presently unobtainable, but may become available in the future.

A short, rather soft man trots towards you. He introduces himself as All Hallows' Steve, the avatar of Halloween cheer and definitely not the mayor of this small town.
"Ah, I see you are here for the festival! Truth be told, I have a favor to ask of you..."
Hallows' Steve draws closer, taking a more conspiratorial tone.
"A terrible being named the Harvest King is foreseen to come to the town this year. He's a vengeful spirit, wanting to ruin our trick-or-treating traditions! You look strong, could I perhaps ask you to protect the inhabitants and their righteously bought candy bags? Of course, you'd still have spare time to go trick-or-treating yourself!"
Battle Format
- Players will form teams of two as they sign up, and they will bring two Pokemon each.
- One of your Pokemon (per player) must have no core stat rank above 6 (including base-rank adjusting abilities) and also must not be Krilowatt. This Pokemon can be any stage. (The core stat ranks are Atk, Def, SpA, and SpD.) This Pokemon is referred to your Trick-or-Treater.
- Each member of a team must bring exactly one Trick-or-Treater. If both of a trainer's Pokemon qualify, they must specify which Pokemon is their Trick-or-Treater.
- Your other Pokemon can be any Pokemon you own.
- When signing up, know that you won't be allowed to use any advanced techniques (Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, etc.), nor equip the associated items.
- Each player must post their own Pokemon when signing up. One player posts the challenge, and the other player will reply to their teammate, confirming the signup and entering the team into the queue.
- As with all tag battles, you share a field with your teammates. Your partner trainer's benched Pokemon are still "your benched allies" for the purpose of moves such as Heal Bell.
- The battles will be 4vX Doubles. Each player may have only one Pokemon in play at a time.
- You will play against Waves of opponents. If you defeat all of your opponents in a Wave, the next wave is sent out and you will battle them exactly as you are.
- In Normal Mode: Your HP, En, held item, and all ongoing Major, Minor, field, and battle conditions, as well as any stat stages, will be carried over between Waves. This also applies to opponents that are phazed to later waves. (see below)
- In Hard Mode: Your items and non-Major status will not carry between battles in Hard Mode. Only your HP, En, and Major Status will be preserved. If you have a consumable item equipped, it is brought fresh to each battle in the challenge.
- Later waves increase in difficulty. Hang on as long as you can, to check off as many achievements as you can.
- The opponents will act according to a limited set of random scripted behaviors.
- One player in your team will order first each round, while the other player will order last.
- Only the player ordering first may switch their Pokemon in a round. Furthermore, the player Pokemon who receives orders first will be the target of most (but not all) hostile enemy orders. Decide for yourselves as a team who should take the first order each round, based on the battle situation.
- The opponents in the Wave will have their orders rolled by the ref, after the first player has ordered, but before the second player orders.
- Scripted opponents disregard the substitution restrictions placed on human players. Their substitutions work as written, and should be considered more as conditional behaviors than as traditional substitutions.
- Some behaviors specify multiple targets in sequence. The action's target is chosen at the start of the round, just like how a player issues orders to a Pokemon. If the first target is illegal when the behavior is rolled (such as targeting an ally when no allies remain), the next listed target is used instead. If the target becomes illegal mid-round, the action is processed in the usual way.
- By completing achievements from a list shared with the entire playerbase, you will help raise every trainer's shared global score.
- The mayor doesn't care who protects their custome-- er, their trick-or-treaters, so long as somebody does!
- Each achievement can be completed only a single time ever. Once it's marked as complete for one team, it's completed for all teams, and all players that have participated in the event get credit.
- Because of this, completing achievements that have been attained by another challenger pair is pointless. Instead, coordinate with other trainers in the Casual Discussion Thread to divide the work and conquer the achievement list efficiently!
- When the event expires, any player that has finished an event challenge is able to claim any reward whose global score requirement has been reached.
- Ongoing event challenges may raise the shared global score after the end of the event period. If more achievements are completed and new reward thresholds are reached after you have claimed event rewards, you may claim the newly-reached rewards by linking your prior event reward claim, in your new event reward claim. Event reward claim.
- With Normal Mode achievements only, it is not possible to reach every reward score threshold. Some number of players will have to brave Hard Mode in order for the community to enjoy all of the spoils!
