Following a recent investigation, Upper Staff/Senior Staff found evidence that certain users have been cooperating with permabanned users and in certain cases, giving them a platform to use the site through proxy posting. Considering 1v1's past history with banned users and the widespread reach of the associations we found, we have opted for an extremely hands-on approach in hopes that the community can start from a mostly fresh slate and improve from there. Thus, the council and certain staff positions have been mostly dissolved to prepare a clean slate.
As a result of these changes:
- 1v1 will become a UM for the time being due to its lack of independent leadership. This status may be reviewed at a later date.
- 1v1 will pause all traditional tiering/resource council work since most of those positions have been reset, including for old gens.
- Felucia will remain as sole 1v1 Forum Leader. In lieu of a council, there will be community surveys followed by tiering action if deemed necessary at a later date, but for now the main focus is restructuring the community.
- 1v1's circuit will lose its championship prize for 2024. A large part of the community that associates with permabanned users is in the tournaments, and we don't intend to encourage this.
We will reevaluate 1v1's status in the coming months, looking for significant improvement in staff and the community as a whole. If permabanned users are knowingly allowed to continue to be a major part of the community, the tier and ladder are facing deletion.
