[OVERVIEW]
Terrakion is a superb wallbreaker and hyper offense lead, using its excellent Speed tier, immediate power, great offensive typing, and utility moves like Stealth Rock, Swords Dance, and Taunt to great effect. Focus Sash lead Terrakion can often disrupt opposing leads, like Jirachi and Krookodile, with Taunt before establishing its own entry hazard and potentially racking up damage with its powerful STAB attacks. Swords Dance Terrakion is incredibly threatening, as it can comfortably break past walls like Galarian Weezing and Hippowdon once they've taken a bit of chip damage. Terrakion does compete with other Fighting-types though, struggling to fulfill the role with stiff competition like Slither Wing, which has priority in First Impression, and Galarian Zapdos, which has U-turn. While other hyper offense leads offer more utility, such as Healing Wish Jirachi and Endeavor Lycanroc, Terrakion remains a great option as a lead, setup sweeper, and wallbreaker.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====
Terrakion can opt to use Iron Head to better break past Fairy-types like Fezandipiti and Galarian Weezing. Sacred Sword is an alternative to Close Combat that can surprise IronPress foes like Registeel. X-Scissor can be used to slice through bulky Psychic-types like Reuniclus and Slowbro, which is especially beneficial on Swords Dance sets.
Checks and Counters
====
**Psychic-types**: Reuniclus and Slowbro can notably stomach Terrakion's attacks and threaten it back with Psychic Noise and Scald, both of which can comfortably 2HKO it. Armarouge, if positioned well against a Close Combat, can use Weak Armor to potentially reverse sweep. Cresselia and Necrozma can also sponge attacks from Terrakion well and threaten to set up or take it out.
**Faster Wallbreakers and Revenge Killers**: While Terrakion is generally fast, it is easily outpaced by other wallbreakers like Barraskewda and Choice Scarf users like Gardevoir and Galarian Zapdos; the latter two can find safe entry points against it, as they resist Close Combat.
**Physical Walls**: Hippowdon can be an annoyance for Terrakion, comfortably sponging its attacks and threatening to KO it back with Earthquake or phaze it with Whirlwind. Galarian Weezing can also take its attacks with ease and hit it hard with Strange Steam or burn it with Will-O-Wisp, though it lacks reliable recovery. Chesnaught can sponge any attack from Terrakion and threaten to KO it back with Body Press.
**Golurk**: Golurk counters most Terrakion sets, threatening to KO it with ease, while Terrakion can't do much back.
