COWABUNGA DUDES!

[SET]
Double Dance (Terapagos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Tera Shell
Level: 50
EVs: 172 HP / 236 SpA / 100 Spe or 172 HP / 196 SpA / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 15 Atk
Tera Type: Stellar
- Calm Mind
- Tera Starstorm
- Rock Polish
- Protect / Earth Power / Flamethrower

[SET COMMENTS]

* With an incredible ability to resist any attack at full HP and the completely unresisted Tera Starstorm after Terastallization, Terapagos is one of the most terrifying bulky sweepers in the game!

* **Rock Polish**: Rock Polish ensures that Terapagos outspeeds most of the metagame, with only extremely fast Speed-boosted Pokemon such as Koraidon, Miraidon, Calyrex-S, and Flutter Mane outspeeding it.

* **Protect**: Protect pairs excellently with Leftovers and Toxic Spikes support to whittle down foes and give Terapagos an even longer lifespan.

* **Earth Power versus Flamethrower**: Using a coverage move over Protect doesn't make Terapagos as long-lasting, but it makes Terapagos less of a liability if a different Pokemon needs to Terastallize in a given match. Earth Power ruins Glimmora and does big damage to Miraidon and Zacian-C, while Flamethrower still hits Zacian-C and roasts the irritating Knock Off Scizor.

* **Leftovers**: Besides benefitting Terapagos's impressive bulk, getting any chance to gain Tera Shell's effect back is devastating enough to seriously consider Leftovers.

Other Options
========

* **Rest and Chesto Berry**: When Rest and Chesto Berry are combined, Terapagos has an easy way to gain Tera Shell's protection back! However, this combination won't work nearly as well with Toxic Spikes as Protect does and is very vulnerable to Knock Off.

* **Dark Pulse**: Dark Pulse nails Calyrex-S regardless of whether or not Terapagos is Terastallized, though the great coverage isn't all that useful after Terastallization.

* **Rapid Spin and an Attack IV of 31**: Terapagos is great at removing entry hazards with Rapid Spin, especially since most foes won't expect it, plus Terapagos can still boost its Speed even if it's Taunted. As a bonus, Rapid Spin breaks Focus Sash on powerful users like Sneasler. However, Terapagos will now need 244 Speed EVs and a Timid nature to outspeed Calyrex-S after a Speed boost.

Tera Types
========

* **Tera Dependency - Almost Required**: Terapagos is heavily dependent on Terastallization to transform into the incredibly bulky Terapagos-S. This is especially the case if Tera Starstorm is its only attack, meaning Terastallization is necessary to hit Ghost-types.

* **Terapagos-S**: Tera Stellar is the only possible option for Terapagos, but thankfully Terapagos-S's incredible bulk and perfect coverage make Terastallizing worth it. However, Tera Shell is a fantastic ability for enabling setup, and Tera Starstorm actually does more damage to neutral targets when Terapagos is not Terastallized, so it shouldn't be in a rush to Terastallize either. Also, take special note of Teraform Zero; while its not the main selling point of Terapagos-S, clearing Koraidon's sun or Miraidon's Electric Terrain at the correct times can have a huge impact on the match!

EV Spreads
========

* **172 HP EVs**: This HP investment gives Terapagos maximum Leftovers recovery before Terastallizing and minimizes Terapagos-S's damage from entry hazards. It also ensures that +1 Psyshock from Calyrex-S will not 2HKO Terapagos-S after Leftovers recovery.

* **100 Speed EVs versus 140 Speed EVs**: 100 Speed EVs let Terapagos outspeed Jolly Choice Scarf Landorus-T, a common revenge killer. 140 Speed EVs will require losing some power, but they do enable Terapagos to outspeed Jolly Choice Scarf Urshifu formes, which can potentially revenge kill Terapagos-S with Close Combat.

[SET]
Choice Specs (Terapagos) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Tera Shell
Level: 50
EVs: 196 HP / 252 SpA / 60 Spe or 236 HP / 68 Def / 204 SpA
Modest / Timid Nature
IVs: 15 Atk
Tera Type: Stellar
- Tera Starstorm
- Dark Pulse / Power Gem
- Dazzling Gleam / Ice Beam
- Earth Power / Flamethrower

[SET COMMENTS]

* Terapagos's offensive power may seem underwhelming compared to most Restricted Pokemon, but Tera Starstorm hitting every Pokemon neutrally in its Stellar forme makes it a strong and easy-to-use Choice Specs threat!

* **Dark Pulse**: Dark Pulse is Terapagos's best attack against Calyrex-S, making it especially important when Terapagos is not Terastallized.

* **Power Gem**: Power Gem hits Ho-Oh and Tera Fire Koraidon without needing to Terastallize.

* **Dazzling Gleam versus Ice Beam**: Dazzling Gleam ruins Koraidon that don't Terastallize, while Ice Beam does more damage to other Dragon-types, with Dragonite being a big target.

* **Earth Power versus Flamethrower**: Earth Power deals huge damage to Tera Fire Koraidon while keeping Tera Shell in play, and it's good coverage against Steel-types like Zacian-C. Flamethrower goes all in against Steel-types, roasting Scizor and Corviknight in particular.

**Healing Wish / Lunar Dance Support**: A Healing Wish or Lunar Dance teammate lets Terapagos go on another Tera Starstorm rampage, pairing well with its superb bulk. Some good users of these include Latias, Cresselia, and Indeedee formes.

Other Options
========

* **Flash Cannon**: Flash Cannon is Terapagos's most damaging attack against Flutter Mane, but its coverage is otherwise poor.

Tera Types
========

* **Tera Dependency - Very High**: Terapagos needs to Terastallize into Terapagos-S in order to gain perfect coverage and bulk. However, if the flow of the match suggests a different Pokemon should Terastallize, Terapagos still has the useful Tera Shell and good coverage as backup, even if it's rather mediocre without Terastallization.

* **When to Terastallize**: Before Terastallization, Tera Starstorm is actually more powerful, and the superb Tera Shell lets Terapagos revenge kill a wide variety of weakened Pokemon. Terastallizing before Terapagos has taken damage is often not advised, but it makes sense if predicting your opponent is difficult.

EV Spreads
========

* **196 HP / 252 SpA / 60 Spe with Modest**: This spread lets Terapagos outspeed the extremely powerful Jolly Ursaluna, which can OHKO it through Tera Shell with boosted Facade.

* **236 HP / 68 Def / 204 SpA with Modest**: This spread lets Terapagos survive Adamant Koraidon's Collision Course after it Terastallizes to get rid of the sunny weather.

* **4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe with Timid**: Maximizing Speed allows Terapagos to outspeed Adamant Urshifu formes, which otherwise revenge kill Terapagos-S.

I would probably rename at one to something like “double dance” since just calm mind can be a little misleading. There are a couple solo calm mind sets I’ve seen floating around so if those catch on we’d have to change the set name anyway, so honestly it’s better to be proactive here.

I think it’s important to note that the choice specs set pairs very well with healing wish/lunar dance support, which is another reason to hold back your Tera, as this will allow you to make use of Tera shell multiple times. I also think adding Power Gem as a slash in for moveslot 2 on specs is a good idea, as this hits Ho-Oh and Tera fire Koraidon hard without pulling the trigger on your Tera too early. Holding back your Tera is less important against Calyrex teams most of the time since Tera Starstorm will get around any kind of pivot attempts and Tera shell is less needed as you are naturally immune to Calyrex S’ main STAB

Implemented this! One thing I'm torn on is if I should add Enamorus to the Healing wish mons (I mentioned Latias and Cresselia). Long story short, the 3rd highest ranked Terapagos team used Focus Sash Healing Wish Enamorus: https://yakkun.com/bbs/party/n6064

I realize it's easy to write this off as "good players can use anything" especially for a mon that isn't even in the top 150 in uasge... but I did try it, and can confirm it works as advertised! So I think its a mon that makes sense for a Specs Terapagos team, even if its otherwise super obscure. But it not being in the top 150 is sorta unprecedented for us mentioning stuff too...

I think the best wishers to note are cress, indeedee (both forms I’ve seen) and latias but yea Enamorus seems like a top top player counterteaming other super mega nerds, so likely wouldn’t apply to the general populous.
