Back to competitive since Gen 6 and having Reuniclus as probably my favorite mon of all time, I decided to build a team around it. This is what it looks like:
Art by @dar_alt on Twitter.
Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Recover
This dude is intended to be the main sweeper of the team. He's naturally bulky and has access to Magic Guard and Recover that guarantee longevity throughout the battle. A couple of clicks in Calm Mind transforms it in a special beast that checks threats like Toxapex with Psychic and Ferrothorn with Focus Blast, moves that can pretty much sweep whole teams. If given the opportunity, it can Dynamax to get even more bulk and create Psychic Terrain, boosting even more its Psychic power. The specific 44 speed EVs are meant to outspeed Toxapex.
Ribombee @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shield Dust
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Moonblast
- Stun Spore
- Quiver Dance
This cute thing is the lead of the team. The whole team hugely appreciates the utility of Sticky Web. Moonblast is a great STAB move that hits hard the Dark-types that threatens Reuniclus. It also can hit hard the very dangerous Hawlucha and is capable of OHKOing the very common Dragapult (without Light Screens up). Stun Spore is here to paralyze Steel-types such as Corviknight and Excadrill, that might come out to defog or rapid spin the Sticky Web out.
Rotom-Heat @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
The little oven can absorb any Ground-type attacks targeting Reuniclus and act like a special wall for the team. It even take good physical hits as well, thanks to its Bold nature and natural bulkiness. Will-O-Wisp cripples a lot of threats in the metagame, such as Dracovish and Physical Attacker Dragapult. Overheat hits Excadrill, Corviknight and Ferrothorn really hard. Finally, this thing is a good check against Galarian Darmanitan actually!
Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Flash Cannon
- Draco Meteor
Hydreigon is another sweeper option for the team and can take out the Ghost-types that Reuniclus is afraid of. It doesn't care much for burn status and can easily setup against stall mons. Sometimes, one Nasty Plot is enough for it to sweep whole teams. It can take most Dragapult's Dragon Darts and revenge kill it with Draco Meteor easily. Boosted STAB Dark Pulse hits most of the meta neutrally and is the main weapon against G-Corsola and Aegislash.
Diggersby @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Quick Attack
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Stone Edge
Diggersby is my chosen wallbreaker/cleaner because it can easily switch into Ghost-type attacks directed to Reuniclus and counterattack heavily with any of its coverage moves. With help from Sticky Web, Diggersby is a force to be reckoned with. It really misses Return, but has a great movepool full of coverage options. I've chosen Fire Punch so it can hit hard mons like Ferrothorn and Corviknight, while Stone Edge is here to OHKO the scary sweepers Gyarados and Hawlucha.
Corsola-Galar @ Eviolite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Strength Sap
- Will-O-Wisp
- Night Shade
The most threatening physical wall of the meta is so cute, isn't it? There is no mystery as why it is here. It takes all the physical hits for the team and cripples the threats with burn and attack debuff. The best check possible for an otherwise really dangerous Galarian Darmanitan. Stealth Rock helps all the team to take out their enemies more easily. It's Ghost typing also provides block to any Rapid Spinner that comes in trying to get rid of the Sticky Webs.
That's it. Any thoughts? How can I improve the team?
P.S.: I'm sorry about my poor vocabulary, I'm not a native speaker.
