Introduction: I'm a stall/balance player known for pulling off unique strategies and gimmicks. My GXE's pretty shit tho since I cbf e-peen tryharding with a billion alts to test whatever comes to mind.

About a month and a half ago I had the idea to build a stall-type team that would utilize Tapu Lele as an opposing stall/balance breaker, As a fan of atypical and asymmetrically balanced teams, I constructed several non-meta spreads and sets to cover for the team's weaknesses, as well to catch opponent's off guard. With this team, you will need at times to sense when you can double switch Tapu Lele in to start mowing down the enemy lineup.

This team requires a finesse and intuition to pull off well.

slowbro.gif

Rob Kardashian (Slowbro) @ Rindo Berry
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Counter
- Slack Off
- Toxic
- Ice Beam

I made this slowbro set as a counter/buffer to the ever popular grass offence. Rindo Berry lets Slowbro tank CB Kartana and CB Tapu Bulu and OHKO in return with Counter, and afterwards heal up lost HP through regenerator. As a psychic type, it hard baits u-turn and knock off users which plays nicely into securing OHKO's on U-turn switch-ins or knock off spammers. It baits M-Mawile and M-Medicham into attacking immediately rather than setting up for fear of scald burns.

Ice beam is for handling Zygarde, lando, and other physical attack based mons that are commonly weak to ice.

Slack off is for retaining longevity, while Toxic is another surprise tech, as most mons fearful of Toxic rapidly switch out of commonly suspected users of the move.

quagsire.gif

Brodie Jenner (Quagsire) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Curse
- Amnesia
- Recover
- Waterfall

This is a team specific re-work of my classic curse/amnesia Quagsire, which instead utilizes max SpD over its standard max DEF spread. Max SpD Quagsire serves as an atypical special wall for the team, easily walling AV Magearna, Manaphy, non giga drain Volcarona, Tapu Koko, Keldeo, Greninja and Char-Y if iQuagsire's had an Amnesia boost. This set is pertinent to defeating TR teams, as it can setup defensively and offensively at the same time as taking advantage of their own TR against them.

Another very necessary application of this mon is to reverse setup on magic guard sweepers like clef and reuinclus.

sableye-mega.gif

Kylie Jenner (Sableye-Mega) @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Protect
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Toxic

Standard SDF Sableye, but with toxic to catch special sub-sweepers like keldeo and serperior off-guard. Toxic sableye lures in defensive zapdos who aim to paralyze Sableye, it also catches Tapu Lele switch-ins off-guard. 4 Spe is for outspeeding other sableye, and non gyro ball ferrothorn.

celesteela.gif

Caitlyn Jenner (Celesteela) @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Leech Seed
- Heavy Slam

Mixed Defensive spread Celesteela with EQ to lure in Magnezone and Heatran, It deals nicely with Extradrll too.. Try to fool the opponent into believing that it doesn't' have EQ.

tapulele.gif

Kim Kardashian (Tapu Lele) @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt/ Nature's Madness/ Shadow ball/ HP Fire
- Psychic
- Focus Blast

The offensive juggernaut of the team. A standard fight-lele set but with Tbolt over Moonblast. Tbolt is to hit-and-run opposing Celesteela, while also taking care of greninja switch-ins, and haze Mantine which greatly annoys this team. Psychic is to be able to hit harder on most mons over psyshock, while also dealing with Unaware clefs on stall. A well played tapu lele on this team creates craters into typical bulky/stall teams, thereby paving the path of victory for the defensive mons on this team.

clefable.gif

:ZOOMIN: (Clefable) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Magic Guard
Shiny: Yes
252 HP/ 76 Def /180 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Soft-Boiled
- Flamethrower
- Stored Power

This is one of several variants I have of fast clefable, which I honestly believe to be slept on. 180 Spe lets it outspeed max neutral speed mawile, as well as outspeeding 16 Spe Mvenu, MScizor and AV Magearna. Setup Clefable lures in common steel checks like celesteela, scizor, ferrothorn, and magearna. Cosmic Power and WP take advantage of that by using their SE attacks to boost its own offense, creating an immediate dangerous threat. In addition, Flamethrower punishes whirlwind skarmory.

This clefable variant also has the advantage of setting up easily on defensive Mvenu.

Threats:

Stealth Rock: while the team isn't particularly vulnerable to rocks, using this team can come to annoying mind games of predicting u-turn or rocks.

Charizard-Y: can pose an immediate threat to this team, and usually requires wearing it down with toxic sableye and double switching around. If Quagsire's had a SPD boost it can wall Char-Y.

Rain: while this team has several soft-checks to rain, it can get overwhelmed by special attack heavy rain variants like waterium ash-greninja, and specs pelliper. Rain teams with grass users can be particularly annoying for this team to face.

Z-Move Tapu Bulu: if the opponent plays well enough, they can take care of celesteela, at that point not even rindo-berry slowbro will save the team if they horn leech spam.

Heavy Taunt Based Teams

Haze Pex: This team relies on lele to take care of pex, but if lele is taken out, then this team is a sitting duck for toxapex

Taunt Madness Fini: is hard for this team to wear down.

Specs Lele: hard pressures celsteela if you can't protect scout with sableye.

Hey Aurella! Nice to see you on the RMT section! The team is very interesting, but far from not having any flaws. The team needs some improvement for sure, and I am going to keep some of the techs and Pokémon in your team, but just know that I will change some sets or Pokémon as a whole, pretty much standardizing the team. I hope you will not have any hard feelings against me after the rate... But without further ado, let's get started!

Overview:
The concept of the team seems really interesting. I have not seen a Tapu Lele semi stall to this day. This seems like a very anti-meta team to me. There are cruical weaknesses to the team, however. The weakness to Stealth Rock is just something you cannot have on stall. A Clefable gets the rocks up versus Mega-Sableye. What follows is that your team gets worn down by said hazards, because you have no removal at all. That NEEDS to be changed. There are also sets that do anything for you, because either you cover them with another Pokémon, or it gets outclassed by another, standard set.
What is your team weak to?

658-ash.png
:
You might not outright lose to it, but it very, very dangerous and shaky to play around this Pokémon. You are pretty much forced to win 50/50s en masse. "Do I go Clefable on a Dark Pulse or Slowbro on a Hydro Pump?" is probably a question you would have to ask yourself everytime you face one. You would have to play a similar game with Waterium Z Greninja but that would be more outplayable, I believe, since you do not take that much from it, which is why I did not include as well.
718.png
: This Pokémon is also pretty hard to deal with, as long as it is Toxic. Regardless if it is Substitue Toxic, or Choice Band Toxic, both sets will do their jobs in spreading out Toxics and wearing your team down even more. The weakness comes from the fact that Clefable does not run max defense, which is necessary to run as of right now.
How can you improve your team?
Major Changes:

:
This is probably the most important change of them all. Zapdos mainly acts as a remover for the team that you desperately need, in my opinion. It also offers you checks to the likes of Kartana and Hawlucha, which were threats to your initial team. Pressure support is also huge in terms of stalling out certain setters like Landorus-Theiran, Calm Mind-less Clefable variants, or even Chansey on opposing stall teams.

This change ties in with the coming changes. Zygarde acts as a secondary win condition, it is annoying in spreading Toxics on stuff like Landorus-Therian, putting it on a timer. It is a huge nuisance to almost every playstyle at worst, and a sweeper at best. It also acts as a Heatran counter in conjunction with Wish support which I am going to explain below.

:
Chansey is another (almost) necessity on stall. The fact that it sets hazards, spreads Toxic, chips Pokémon effectively with Seismic Toss, makes it non-renouncable Pokémon most of the time. Slowbro's purpose is also covered by Zapdos now making Slowbro useless now, so Chansey is better fit here for sure, I believe.
Minor Changes:
Bag_Psychium_Z_Sprite.png
> Taunt|Moonblast|Hidden Power [Fire]| Psyshock (
786.png
) :
I am going with a full set change here. I just do not see the point of running Focus Blast for Tyranitar at all. It cannot switch into Tapu Lele regardless and it has to rely on 50/50s after Tapu Lele got a kill. Psychium Z helps you deal with stall better (Clefable, Quasire), Taunt disables Pokémon like Chansey to recover, Hidden Power [Fire] is intended for Ferrothorn and Mega-Scizor.
Unaware
Bag_Leftovers_Sprite.png
> Cosmic Power|Stored Power
Bag_Weakness_Policy_Sprite.png
(
036.png
) :
Since I removed the Quagsire as the Unaware Pokémon, I decided to make the Clefable Unaware. This Clefable can Wish up the main breakers of the team, Tapu Lele and Zygarde, if need be. Additionally, it provides Heal Bell support, being a pretty reliable status remover in any case.
Will-O-Wisp > Toxic (
Bag_Sablenite_Sprite.png
302-mega.png
) :
This change is a standard one. The reason why I made the change is simple: physical attackers. Being able to cripple certain physical attackers to the point where they are essentially useless, is huge for balance, stall, and semi stall teams.
Conclusion:
As you can see I changed quite a few Pokémon, I apologize for that. I did try to cover up weaknesses to certain Pokémon as well as elemnteal weaknesses such as hazards. Even my rate is probably flawed as all hell, but I did try my best to cover everything. I do hope you do not take this rate too hardly, and if you do, I sincerely apologize. The suggested team might be weak to Tapu Lele, banded Iron Tail Zygarde, and Charizard X. Shoutouts to Simia by the way for helping me out on this one, thank you bud! ^^

okay so in order for this not to get deleted I actually have to give you some suggestions. Upon looking at some of these sets though, I do have a suggestion for you.

Clefable @ Weakness Policy LEFTOVERS (basically I don't think that you need Weakness Policy after my next few changes)
Ability: Magic Guard
Shiny: Yes
252 HP/ 76 Def /180 Spe 252 DEF (yeah I just think that this is all around better and helps you vs Swampert and Lando and things of that nature)
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Soft-Boiled
- Flamethrower CALM MIND (CM + CP is insane and will solve many problems for your team. I have seen it being used and it straight up 6-0s teams. Flamethrower is only needed for Scizor because Ferrothorn can't do anything to you after Cosmic Power, and you have a lot of Scizor Answers. Calm Mind also improves your damage output a lot.
- Stored Power MOONBLAST (imagine Clefable being walled by a dark type xD!!!! Moonblast is just mandatory on every Clefable that isnt CP + Charge Beam [which you can also try btw]

But yeah, that's really all I have to say. I dread facing you on the ladder because I always have no idea what your sets are.

Keep up the good work :))))
