Hidden Power Ice allows Tapu Koko to severely dent Ground-types like Landorus-T and Gliscor. Electrium Z makes up for its lack of initial power, allowing Tapu Koko to KO Darkrai, Ogerpon-W, and a chipped Garganacl and Heatran. Teammates like Iron Valiant, Mega Medicham and Ursaluna appreciate Tapu Koko pivoting them in safely on its checks like Ferrothorn and Galarian Slowking, with the former gaining a Quark Drive boost from Electric Terrain. Despite good Speed, Tapu Koko can still be revenge killed by faster threats like Mega Lopunny and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele; defensive answers to them like Iron Crown and Landorus-T not only help with this but also form a VoltTurn core with Tapu Koko.
