[SET COMMENTS]
Sylveon's great defensive typing and good mixed bulk make it a solid defensive option that reliably checks a unique host of threats, like Keldeo, Mienshao, and Noivern. Wish and Protect ensure that Sylveon can keep itself healthy, and its good HP stat means that it can pass large Wishes to teammates like Obstagoon, Heracross, and Doublade that lack recovery of their own. The last slot is usually dedicated to Heal Bell, allowing Sylveon to rid itself and its teammates of debilitating status. Mystical Fire can be used instead to ensure that Pokemon like Escavalier, Roserade, and Copperajah can't switch in on Sylveon for free. Leftovers is chosen to give Sylveon extra longevity, but Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead in order to prevent Sylveon from being worn down easily by entry hazards. Moonblast can also be used over Hyper Voice with Cute Charm as Sylveon's ability to handle Throat Chop users like Zarude and Linoone. An alternative spread of 252 HP / 124 Def / 132 SpD can be used with a Calm nature, allowing Sylveon to take on some of the tier's most dangerous special attackers like Keldeo. It notably survives two Tri Attacks from Choice Specs Porygon-Z, but it makes it harder for Sylveon to stomach hits from the likes of Terrakion.

Sylveon is at home on balanced and bulky offensive teams that appreciate its ability to switch into Pokemon that would otherwise shred them, like Sharpedo and Keldeo. Slowbro and Slowking are great partners that can handle certain Fighting-types that Sylveon struggles with like Cobalion and Terrakion in addition to other Pokemon that can take advantage of Sylveon like Galarian Weezing while also acting as more reliable checks to Keldeo. They also appreciates Sylveon's Wish support allowing them to more freely run Future Sight over Slack Off. Other good defensive teammates include Pokemon that lack recovery of their own, like Rhyperior and Doublade, that can also check threatening Pokemon for Sylveon like Copperajah and Roserade. Rhyperior also really appreciates Sylveon's ability to handle Fighting-types like Keldeo and can check Alolan Marowak, while Doublade appreciates Sylveon's ability to switch into Noivern. Incineroar is a noteworthy defensive teammate that can switch into Pokemon like Chandelure and Alolan Marowak for Sylveon and it can also check Steel-types like Escavalier and Copperajah. It's also a great beneficiary of Sylveon's Wish support. Offensive teammates that get worn down quickly, like Obstagoon, Heracross, and Life Orb Terrakion, can take advantage of Sylveon's Wish support to ensure they stick around. Terrakion also appreciates that Sylveon can support it with Heal Bell, which allows it to play more recklessly around the likes of Galarian Weezing and Incineroar.

move 4: Shadow Ball / Rest

[SET COMMENTS]
Calm Mind turns Sylveon into a devastating wallbreaker and sweeper, using its solid bulk alongside its great power and coverage to act as both an offensive and defensive threat. The Special Defense boosts from Calm Mind make Sylveon resilient to revenge killing attempts from the likes of Keldeo and Porygon-Z, making it even more difficult to deal with. It's also a great check to Noivern, which is important because of Noivern's generally incredible matchup against the offensive teams Calm Mind Sylveon tends to find itself on. Mystical Fire gives Sylveon a way to break through Steel-types that can handle Hyper Voice like Escavalier and Copperajah. Shadow Ball is generally preferred in the last slot to allow Sylveon to more reliably dispatch of Chandelure, Galarian Slowbro, and Alolan Marowak, but Rest can be used with a Chesto Berry to give Sylveon a way to immediately recover its health and act as a better long-term check to Pokemon like Noivern. Psyshock can also be used, allowing Sylveon to more easily break through Roserade and Tentacruel. If using Psyshock, Sylveon can opt to use either Leftovers or a Pixie Plate. 28 Defense EVs ensure that Sylveon will always survive an Iron Head from Cobalion at full health, and the rest of the spread maximizes Sylveon's offensive potential. A Timid nature is chosen to outspeed Bisharp.

Sylveon fits on offensive teams as a Noivern check that can also double as a late-game sweeper. Sticky Web support is highly recommended with this set, as it limits almost all of Sylveon's natural revenge killers. like Terrakion and Mamoswine. Araquanid makes for a great Sticky Web setter than can also pivot into and break through Galarian Weezing with Surf, while also acting as a good check to Steel-types like Cobalion. Other Pokemon that fit on this archetype like Lycanroc-D and Bisharp are good partners that can take advantage of Sylveon's ability to break through Pokemon like Escavalier. Teammates that can break through very bulky Pokemon like Bronzong, Galarian Slowbro, and Assault Vest Copperajah reliably are also important to have, as Sylveon can struggle to get through them alone. Krookodile is an excellent partner that can threaten all three of these Pokemon while also setting up Stealth Rock to aid Sylveon in sweeping. Pokemon that invite in Noivern, such as Keldeo and Celebi, can be helpful to pivot out on it, giving Sylveon easier setup opportunities. Other entry hazard setters such as Rhyperior and Roserade are useful to passively put opposing Pokemon in range of Sylveon's attacks. Teams that rely on Roserade's Spikes also appreciate Sylveon's ability to pressure Noivern, a common Defogger.

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Specs Sylveon is an extremely threatening wallbreaker; the sheer power of Hyper Voice is enough to 2HKO Pokemon like Doublade, meaning only the bulkiest of Steel-types can hope to take it on. It can also check Pokemon like Noivern and Keldeo, which is appreciated on most offensive teams. Mystical Fire allows Sylveon to bypass its few checks, OHKOing Escavalier and 2HKOing Copperajah and Bronzong after Stealth Rock. Psyshock is primarily used to OHKO Roserade and hit Tentacruel hard. Shadow Ball can be used to OHKO Chandelure and Doublade, but these Pokemon are easily 2HKOed by Hyper Voice regardless, so Heal Bell can be used instead as an emergency method of ridding Sylveon's team of status conditions. It should be noted, though, that Sylveon becomes helpless against Assault Vest Galarian Slowbro. A Modest nature is generally preferred to increase Sylveon's damage output and to more reliably 2HKO Doublade, but a Timid nature can be used instead to outspeed Adamant Bisharp. 28 Defense EVs are used to guarantee that Sylveon will survive an Iron Head from Cobalion from full HP.

Choice Specs Sylveon finds itself at home on offensive teams alongside partners like Mienshao, Zarude, and Terrakion that appreciate its ability to break through the likes of Doublade and Galarian Weezing with ease. Mienshao can also bring Sylveon in safely on Pokemon like Palossand with U-turn, allowing it to fire off a powerful Hyper Voice for free. Other pivots such as Noivern and Slowking can bring Sylveon in on Pokemon like Rhyperior, Rotom-W, and Heliolisk. Pokemon that can help with Noivern are important; while Sylveon doesn't really struggle with Noivern, this set's lack of recovery makes it a poor long-term check. Pokemon like Rhyperior and Assault Vest Galarian Slowbro are useful partners as a result. Pokemon that can break through the likes of Bronzong and Copperajah are also useful; while Sylveon can break through them on its own, locking itself into Mystical Fire can be quite dangerous, as it gives Pokemon like Calm Mind Keldeo and Swords Dance Terrakion free setup opportunities. Krookodile, Cobalion, and Keldeo make for excellent partners as a result. Krookodile and Cobalion can also set up Stealth Rock for Sylveon, while Keldeo can bring Sylveon in on Slowking and Noivern via Flip Turn. Cobalion also very much appreciates Sylveon's ability to lure in and remove Pokemon like Chandelure and Doublade, and in return it can bring Sylveon in on Noivern and Slowbro with Volt Switch. Other entry hazard setters like Roserade and Golisopod can also help with putting opposing Pokemon in range of Sylveon's attacks.

Leftovers are chosen to give Sylveon extra longevity, but Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead in order to prevent Sylveon from being crippled by entry hazards. The given EV spread allows Sylveon to take two Hydro Pumps from Choice Specs Keldeo without Stealth Rock in play.

Give a mention to this spread 252 HP / 124 / 132 SpD. Lets you take on Specs Pory too on top of Keldeo.

Sylveon is at home on balanced teams that appreciate its ability to switch into Pokemon that would otherwise shred them, like Sharpedo and Keldeo. Non-Slack Off Slowbro :blobnauseated: Other good defensive teammates include Pokemon that lack recovery of their own, like Rhyperior and Doublade, that can also check threatening Pokemon for Sylveon like Copperajah and Roserade. You should definitely have mentions of Pokemon that can switch into Chandelure and Alolan Marowak given you do let these breakers in really easily. The Rhyperior mention before can tie into Alowak, but Incineroar should be brought up. You could then mention how it can beat Steel-types and also help with Zarude, especially Throat Chop variants.

A Timid nature is chosen to outspeed Swords Dance Bisharp. I would personally give Pixie Plate + Psyshock a mention. Three attack sets aren't something you can't consider but it is something I would primarily run on webs.

Sylveon fits on offensive teams as a Noivern check that can also double as a late-game sweeper. Sticky Web support is highly recommended with this set, as it limits almost all of Sylveon's natural revenge killers; Pokemon like Terrakion and Mamoswine can usually handle Sylveon if given a free switch-in opportunity, but not if Sticky Web is on their side of the field. Heal Bell is chosen in the last slot as Sylveon's other coverage options are typically redundant, while Heal Bell allows it to potentially support itself or its team by ridding them of crippling status conditions. Alternatively, Shadow Ball can be used to OHKO Chandelure, Alolan Marowak, and Doublade, but these Pokemon are easily 2HKOed by Hyper Voice regardless, so it's generally unneeded. A Modest nature is generally preferred to increase Sylveon's damage output and to more reliably 2HKO Doublade, but a Timid nature can be used instead to Adamant Bisharp. 28 Defense EVs are used to guarantee that Sylveon will survive an Iron Head from Cobalion from full HP.

I would add a mention of some Pokemon that help with Noivern. Specs Sylveon is a much worse pivot into it especially if it is Hurricane. So a mention of Lycanroc-D, Rhyperior, and AV Galarian Slowbro would be nice.

I would mention Cobalion given it appreciates Sylveon blowing back stuff like Chandelure, Doublade, and Alowak. In return, Cobalion can set rocks, bring it in with Volt vs Noivern and Slowbro, pressure Steel-types + Chansey, and check Bisharp and Zarude.

On more offensively inclined teams, Mystical Fire can be used instead of Heal Bell to ensure that Pokemon like Escavalier and Copperajah can't switch in on Sylveon for free should definitely be something about rose here too, honestly I wouldn’t even say mystical fire on balance is bad if you just can’t afford to keep giving rajah and rose constant free opportunities, especially if ur has like a goon or something u don’t want heal bell with . Leftovers are chosen to give Sylveon extra longevity, but Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead in order to prevent Sylveon from being crippled by entry hazards. I’d say this is pretty meh without single turn recovery And making ur tects even more draining but if you’ve seen it used or like it then feel free to ignore me. Moonblast can also be used over Hyper Voice with Cute Charm as Sylveon's ability to handle Throat Chop users like Zarude and Linoone. Sylveon is at home on balanced teams it defo gets use on bulky offense too that appreciate its ability to switch into Pokemon that would otherwise shred them, like Sharpedo and Keldeo. Slowbro and Slowking are great partners that can handle certain Fighting-types that Sylveon struggles with like Cobalion and Terrakion in addition to other Pokemon that can take advantage of Sylveon like Galarian Weezing, I mean I guess but this puts you in a horrible position where it’s still tspikinyg, removing ur boots, pain splitting etc, and is probably exactly what the weezing actually wanted to do in this scenario. while also acting as backup checks to Keldeo aren’t they more the primary ones though realistically, especially since our spdef set is only a mention for Sylveon. They also appreciates Sylveon's Wish support allowing them to more freely run Future Sight over Slack Off. Other good defensive teammates include Pokemon that lack recovery of their own, like Rhyperior and Doublade, that can also check threatening Pokemon for Sylveon like Copperajah and Roserade I don’t mind this I guess but both of them are pretty vulnerable to these pokemon between whip / 100% accurate sleep powder. Since we can’t exactly suggest rhyp running more speed creep here it feels a bit dodgy to suggest it as a good rajah check. Rhyperior also really appreciates Sylveon's ability to handle FIghting-types like Keldeo and can check Alolan Marowak, while Doublade appreciates Sylveon's ability to switch into Noivern. (I would honestly make this first or second slash too if it was me but eh)

Shadow Ball is generally preferred in the last slot to allow Sylveon to more reliably dispatch of Chandelure, Galarian Slowbro, and Alolan Marowak, but Rest can be used with a Chesto Berry to give Sylveon a way to immediately recover its health and act as a better long-term check to Pokemon like Noivern long-term.

Sticky Web support is highly recommended with this set, as it limits almost all of Sylveon's natural revenge killers, (comma); Pokemon like Terrakion and Mamoswine can usually handle Sylveon if given a free switch-in opportunity, but not if Sticky Web is on their side of the field. Araquanid makes for a great Sticky Web setter than can also pivot into and break through Galarian Weezing with Surf (RC) while also acting as a good check to Steel-types like Cobalion.

Choice Specs Sylveon finds itself at home on offensive teams alongside partners like Mienshao, Zarude, and Terrakion that appreciate its ability to break through the likes of Doublade and Galarian Weezing with ease, which is appreciated by partners like Mienshao, Zarude, and Terrakion. Pokemon that can help with Noivern are important; while Sylveon doesn't really struggle with Noivern, its this set's lack of recovery makes it a poor long-term check with this set. Pokemon like Rhyperior and Assault Vest Galarian Slowbro are useful partners as a result. Pokemon that can break through the likes of Bronzong and Copperajah are also useful; while Sylveon can break through them on its own, locking itself into Mystical Fire can be quite dangerous, (AC) as it gives Pokemon like Calm Mind Keldeo and Swords Dance Terrakion free setup opportunities. Krookodile, Cobalion, and Keldeo make for excellent partners as a result. Krookodile and Cobalion can also set up Stealth Rock for Sylveon, while Keldeo can bring Sylveon in on Slowking and Noivern via Flip Turn. Cobailon Cobalion also very much appreciates Sylveon's ability to lure in and remove Pokemon like Chandelure and Doublade, and in return it can bring Sylveon in on Noivern and Slowbro with Volt Switch. Other entry hazard setters like Roserade and Golisopod can also help with putting opposing Pokemon in range of Sylveon's attacks.
