:sv/iron hands:
Hey y'all. Given our shifts have just left us without two common fodder shitmons, we're gonna be retesting Iron Hands!
~~

Most of you know what Iron Hands does by now. Click SD, look like you're gonna solo the entire opposing team, do 31 to Skeledirge with Thunder Punch, get burnt, cry, make a forum post about how broken it COULD'VE been if the constellations had arranged in a Twinkie pattern on Thursday the 24th, and wait for the inevitable ban. But now we don't have Tinkaton and Weavile, so Iron Hands can't set up on anything! As such, we're reintroducing it to the tier.

HOWEVER: It has been brought to my attention that some players are fearful of the potential of Grassy Seed Iron Hands. I'm not really sure what prompted this. Doesn't seem that good to me? Lmao y'all really gotta get good. But regardless, in accordance with the law of equivalent exchange, we'll also be quickbanning Thwackey. Sorry to all the Thwackster fans out there, I know it was really fun to sack him so Ogerpon could click Ivy Cudgel twice before never doing anything again but unfortunately it has to be this way.

In terms of more traditional reasoning... we just have good checks idk man. Skeledirge walls non-Tera Fire variants and Excadrill does like 55 with EQ so you can just Tera Ghost and prevent Drain Punch recovery and then Iron Hands can't do anything unless it Teras into one of the like 15 types that isn't weak to Ground but shut up I don't care man I just wanna click SD Drain Punch again okay nothing in this tier can do that anymore because YALL KEEP MAKING ME BAN THEM LIKE WE DIDNT NEED TO GET RID OF URSALUNA OR OKIDOGI OR KOMMO OR CERULEDGE WHO I GUESS DOESNT DRAIN PUNCH BUT ITS CLOSE ENOUGH WHATEVER MAN

...excuse me. Anyway, let's see how the community feels.

NOTE: THIS TEST WILL BE USING A NEW SUSPECT PROCESS!

The instructions to participate in this test are as follows:

  • Create a new account on PS. You do not have to follow any specific naming convention, but your suspect account must have never played a game in UU before this suspect test went up or you will not receive valid requirements (resetting W/L does not count for this - the account you use must never have played UU before the test, full stop.)
  • At any point on your new account, use the command /afd on on Pokemon Showdown.
  • Double check that you're listed as a voter here! If you aren't listed as a voter despite having valid reqs, please contact myself, vivalospride, or a member of staff.
  • If you have any questions about this new process, feel free to PM me or post here!

The requirement to vote in this suspect test is a COIL value of 1. The deadline for getting requirements will be Wednesday, April 2nd. Good luck to all!

Anyone else kinda not see the point of dropping Iron Hands when no doubt itd land in around C+ rank..? personally I think we'd be better spending our time unbanning everything in UUBL, hoping one of them sticks. most of the things there don't seem like they'd even be that good, skeledirge and lokix counter everything lol. like who is using latios when it dies to choice band lokix? nobody thats who. even clodsire counters iron hands, so just use clodsire if you think its a problem. in summary all this talk of unbanning a single mon is a waste of time because they will get unbanned and be a shitmon, time would be much better spent making actual additions to the tier and unbanning everything.

What I really wish to discuss today is why we allow broken legendary Pokemon like Heatran, Cobalion, Tornadus, and Ogerpon in the tier and yet PELLIPER was deemed too much for UU to handle?

LOOK AT THESE STATS. THIS IS WHAT YOUR COUNCIL IS RUNNING FROM. IT CAN'T EVEN SET ROCKS.

With bulk this appalling it is not possible for this slow goofy mf to live ONE Thunderbolt. I understand that Keen Eye is a great ability, and Hurricane is certainly broken, but perhaps we should look at banning the move before the man?

Unite with me brethren. #FREEPELIPPER. I want my Bellibolt rain team back.

I would like to take this unban one step further and ban every Pokemon other than iron hands.

This is the best path forward. This is the future. This is Iron-Handsused

I know this is presented as an "April Fools Joke" but I don't think this is any laughing matter. The UU tier has gained Blissey, Meowscarada and Rillaboom while losing Tinkaton and Weavile, some great offensive checks to the new drops. I think having Iron Hands in the tier would be a healthy addition to the tier that allows people to have something that can check and punish these new drops. We're going to reach a stage where people struggle to switch into Meowscarada, or will wonder how to avoid a Hawlucha sweep. Then we're going to ban these guys and have a UUBL list so long Smogon historians will wonder why we just didn't free everything and start anew ever. Let's give a tool for balance and stall teams to use to offensively check these Pokemon 1-2 times and put up some pressure in return. To be honest if you lose to a Pokemon as slow as molasses you may need to hit up B101 and request me as your tutor.

ENOUGH OF THIS POKÉMON BULLSHIT! WHO WANTS TO HEAR MY DETAILED ANALYSIS OF TAX-DEDUCTIBLE EXPENSES?
Tax-deductible expenses are ordinary and necessary expenditures incurred by an individual or business that can be subtracted from taxable income, thus reducing the overall amount of taxes owed. Common examples of such expenses include business travel costs, home office supplies, professional fees, and certain educational expenses directly related to one's trade or profession. It's essential for taxpayers to keep detailed records, including receipts and invoices, to substantiate deductions in case of an audit by tax authorities.
