SV OU Tournament Team's Bazaar
approved by Ausma

Welcome to first iteration of the Tournament Team Bazaar resource, a thread that details and archives teams used in official Smogon tournaments. The goal of this resource is to give players a source of up to date top level teams, as well as a higher level analysis of how these teams work. The way we gather teams is through direct donations, or team rips from information through the games/builders especially for the EV's.

If tournament builders/players wish to donate teams directly to this archive they may by DM-ing Shaymin Sky , so long as the team is either theirs or they have permission from the original builder. I'll also note that team donations to this resource does contribute to a metagame resources badge.

If a team is incorrectly credited in any way, or If you have a team that you do not wish to be publicly available, please contact Shaymin Sky so I can get the issue resolved. In the event that we rip a team who's original builder is unknown, it will say "Unknown" in the Credits however the analysis post will say "used by X" to clarify what Tournament it was played in/by.

This resource thread is managed by Shaymin Sky and is assisted by a group of qualifier users to quality check the team rips.

Ursaluna Semi-Stall by Ewin, OLT R4/Top 16

Ewin is a prominent Tournament player of several years and even more recently he's been making a name for himself in OLT using this particular Team that's currently undefeated. The big draw of course is the Ursaluna, not just that but the set itself, being a bulk up set-up Pokémon, with Physical Defense. This isn't just for show, as this Ursaluna has put in a decent amount of work in Ewin's games, for example surviving Ogerpon Ivy Cudgel comfortably and hitting back with an Ice Punch for 73%. The goal of the Ursaluna isn't to win but rather do enough damage to the opponent, to where their Pokemon are at risk of being KO'd from the defensive Pokémon. The point is forcing progress, and Bulk Up Ursaluna is quite good at forcing scenario's where the opposing side is gonna be forced to take some damage on key Pokemon. The attack EV's on Ursaluna are to always KO full health Iron Crown with Earthquake, the defense EV's is to always survive +2 Kingambit 5 fainted Kowtow Cleave with the rest of the EV's going into Special Defense.

Besides the Ursaluna this team is quite standard with the unique caveat of only Blissey as the Special Defense wall. While this isn't much of a struggle for Ewin, many stall teams utilize a combination of Blissey + Sp.Def Clodsire/Gliscor/Garganacl as a means to not keep special defensive play limited. Blissey especially with Tera can wall almost all special attackers but be aware that playing extremely precise with Blissey against special wallbreakers is required, as there's not much other outs. Some other interesting things to note is Gliscor can opt to be Facade > Earthquake and Tera Normal > Tera Dark, as both versions have been used by Ewin. As said by Ewin himself Iron Defense or Brave Bird is quite the tossup on Corviknight, so you can make that personal choice if you choose to use this team. Lastly Facade > Stone Edge can be used if you are worried about Moltres or Will-o-Wisp burns. This team is quite incredible going 4-0 in OLT playoffs and it really goes to show how impressive as well as unique defensive play can get in SV OU.

special thanks to Ewin for helping with set questions!

Hydrapple + Scarf Clefable Balance by Xavgb, OLT Top 16

This team by Xavgb takes a popular team archetype of Samurott-Hisui hazard stack balance, and spins it on it's head by incorporating Weavile as a progress maker and relegating Gliscor to a supporting role rather than a Set Up role. Usually team archetypes like this focus on Gliscor's offensive Swords Dance setup, however with this team there really is no need. Samurott-Hisui on it's own is a rather difficult Pokemon to handle defensively, as it spreads Knock Off's while getting up Spikes with Ceaseless Edge. When you add that on top of Heavy Duty Boots 4 attacks weavile, a hard Pokemon to switch around who spreads more Knock Off's, and is hard to get rid of, you can see how this team over time is overwhelming offensively.

Gliscor instead acts as a main glue that gets in Weavile and Samurott-Hisui safely via U-Turn, and has a great emergency option in Tera-Toxic to cripple big threats. We see this actually in the Xavgb vs Dasmer game where Nasty Plot Darkrai threatens the entire team, yet a crucial Toxic renders that game plan futile. The team has overall a ton of versatility defensively between Corviknight, Gliscor, Hydrapple, and Clefable. While also having great long term offensive pressure in Weavile, Hydrapple, Samurott-Hisui and Trick Clefable who can render Pokémon useless if it gets the right Trick timing. Overall an incredibly flexible team, utilizing a common archetype yet with a unique take on it that hasn't been replicated before!

Ebelt Zamazenta Offense by MAVERICK SHOOTERS, SCL & OLT Top 16

This team by MAVERICK SHOOTERS has been impacting the tournament scene multiple times, first in SCL used by Myjava and then again in OLT Top 16 where it got a crucial win against Empo. This is a bulky offense using all of OU's premiere Pokemon, it's incredibly solid into almost any matchup with several different outs depending on what you're facing. Zapdos a recently more common pick is used here as a big glue of the team, and it spreads paralysis to aid Zamazenta and Ogerpon-Wellspring's offensive pressure. In addition Zapdos have momentum through Volt Switch which is even more important as Slowking-Galar is an Assault Vest variant lacking Chilly Reception pivoting. The main star of the show Zamazenta uses a lesser known but still powerful Expert Belt set. Using Zamazenta's near perfect coverage, you get the 20% boost on all your attacks when timed correctly. That in tandem with it's amazing natural bulk makes it a difficult Pokemon to get rid of, and a dangerous cleaner in the late game.

Eboost CM Iron Crown Bulky Offense by zioziotrip, OLT Top 16

Bulky Offense takes a lot of forms but this team by zioziotrip is quite unique using Calm Mind Iron Crown as a premiere offensive component. Iron Crown acts as speed control which is quite important for a naturally slow team, as well as a setup sweeper using a surprise Tera-Blast Ground set. The team has another Calm Mind progress maker in Raging Bolt, and with Booster Energy Special Attack you can net massive damage midgame. This exact thing happened in the game of Clean vs Spookyz where Raging Bolt got considerable damage on Slowking-Galar and netted the kill on Dragonite. Ogerpon-Wellspring is the teams long term balance breaker, using it's stabs with Knock Off and U-Turn to be used as long term offensive pressure. Great Tusk and Ting-Lu even out the team from a defensive standpoint, being the teams hazard control as well as hazard setter while defending against general physical and special attacks.

Alo+Gweez Fat Balance used by SOULWIND (builder unknown), OLT Top 16

One of the best Fat Balance teams ever seen before, piloted by SOULWIND this team dominated in the OLT Top 16 game. The team boast a unique yet powerful defensive core of Garganacl + Alomomola + Weezing-Galar, that coupled with Tera can take on almost any offensive threat in the tier. Defense isn't the teams only strong suite however, as offensively it's quite threatening too. As seen in the OLT game Swords Dance Gliscor is an incredible long term breaker spreading Knock Off's and dangerous Tera boosted Facades. The speed EV's of the Gliscor are especially notable as it's able to outpace max speed Landorus-Therian, which gives Gliscor an opportunity to set up before being taunted. Interestingly this Gliscor is not max speed as seen in the game as well as specific damage calcs.

Another oddity found via calc's is that the Dragapult is confirmed to be a minus attack nature, even while having Dragon Darts. The most likely case for what happened is the Dragapult was originally Draco Meteor instead of Dragon Darts, but this was reverted eventually but the nature was never fixed. This does mean the no attack EV's may also not be intentional, but for the sake of accuracy we will only be correcting the nature error. Beyond that the team is pretty standard set and EV wise, with a 2-3 possible variations on move's. Dragapult being one of them who's status move isn't completely confirmed and with 2 ways to burn already, Thunder Wave to Punish Moltres is definitely possible. You also could use Draco Meteor over Dragon Darts as the team originally seemed to have. Strange Steam or Pain Split on Weezing-Galar is another tossup but the former is much more likely due to Alomomola. Lastly Kingambit's Tera-Typing is unconfirmed but it's very likely to be either; Flying, Fairy, and maybe Fire. Overall an incredibly powerful team that may change the very shape of fat balance by incorporating old key parts like Grarganacl and Weezing-Galar.

Slither + Specs Ghold Balance by Mada, SCL Week 4

The balance archetype has been experimenting with a lot of niche picks like and Slither Wing seems to be something that caught Mada's eye. Slither wing functions as a good bulky pivot in a metagame with so much strong Earthquake + Ice Spinner pressure. It safely switches in on Pokemon like Great Tusk, and threatens Will-O-Wisp or U-Turn right after. U-Turn most importantly grants safe switches into power houses like Choice Specs Gholdengo, or Swords Dance Gliscor. We see this in the Mada vs Santu game where Slither Wing will come in on things like Skarmory, force in the Clefable to then U-Turn and get SD Gliscor in. the team has yet another offensive Pokemon in Ogerpon-Wellspring, using a 3 attacks encore set to dish out damage and prevent set up.

Lastly Alomomola and Garganacl round out the team with a potent defensive anchor, the former giving much needed recovery to Gholdengo and Ogerpon-wellspring. This recovery is especially important in longer games which this team will certainly have, so don't overlook this role! With the latter Garganacl gives the team Stealth Rocks hazards, and general defensive annoyingness with Tera-Fairy and Salt Cure stalling. Overall a creative yet strong Balance team created by Mada!

Lando + Hrott + Pecha Bulky Offense by Hellom, SCL Week 4

This Bulky Offense by Hellom introduces a unique core of Landorus-Therian, Samurott-Hisui, and Pecharunt. This was actually seen piloted by Lax before, but this version takes a unique spin on it by using offensive Roar Zamazenta and Thunder Wave Dragon Dance Dragonite! To clarify I'm pretty sure Thunder Wave on Dragonite is meant to be an emergency out incase something like Roaring Moon sets up. Multiscale will let Dragonite live any attack and you can Thunder Wave to cripple after. Thunder Wave on Dragonite also slows stuff down for Kingambit, or to Power up Pecharunt Hex. Anyways the former Pokemon Zamazenta was a key part of the teams success in Hellom's Week 4 match, cleaning up once the fighting resist Primarina/Dragonite went down. Hellom's own Dragonite was part of the chip down process on the opposing Dragonite, netting Ice Spinner for major damage putting it in Zamazenta Close Combat range.

The team is decently standard but structured in a more than perfect way, both offensively and defensively. Many of the Pokémon have great immediate bulky like Landorus-Therian, Zamazenta, or Kingambit which gives the team the feeling of great longevity. This goes into defensive type coverage as well, with Pokemon like Kingambit and Landorus-Therian complimenting eachother well. The team has enough bulky pivots to where you don't have to always rely on raw bulk, we see this especially with Pecharunt who can get off fast Parting Shots and swap into an ally safely. Overall the team is incredibly sound into the general metagame, with various ways to play both offensively and defensively regardless of the matchup it faces.

Special thanks to hellom for direct paste!

UPDATE!!
With the unban of Kyurem, all prior teams will be archived in a spoiler box at the bottom of the original post. There were two teams submitted a few hours before the unbanning so these will be added to the archived Kyurem ban teams, they'll be shown in this post below (waiting for Mimikyu Stardust to wake up for the second team lol, I'll edit it in later today).

If you're confused why zioziotrip's team is not in the Kyurem ban team archive, it's because zio made the team before Kyurem was banned and it was planned to be used during that metagame actually. Since it's built with Kyurem in mind, it can stay in the main teams list.

DD Kyurem + Hatt HO by oldspicemike, SCL Week 6

Tour Team Bazaar is back with another team by oldspicemike, that pulled off an impressive Kyurem sweep in it's SCL game! Kyurem uses a Loaded Dice Dragon Dance set with the now less common Tera-Blast Tera Fire, as many Kyurem's have started to use Tera Ground. However this came into play greatly in the match, netting a crucial KO on Slither Wing which was otherwise not possible. There's several other cool options like 4 attacks Tera Ghost Iron Moth, which boast a ton of surprise factor. Hatterene is there to alleviate the weakness to hazards, and to give emergency Healing Wishes to teammates like Kingambit or Zamazenta who tend to take damage in the mid-game. Landorus-Therian is used for the teams hazards, and opt's for Psychic over Taunt to better punish both Great Tusk and Zamazenta. Overall a powerful Hyper Offense with a lot of unique and great innovations to Hyper Offense like Healing Wish, which was typically used on Sun.

Special thanks to oldspicemike for direct paste!
