If you have played me on high ladder, you have probably seen this team. This team works synergistically to bring in specs keldeo as much as possible to click choice specs boosted water moves.
This is a real team with some chest hair. Not a pussy footing around build. I click a button you die.
Keldeo
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Surf
- Focus Blast
- Secret Sword
This is a real pokemon people. None of that boots pivoting around long game bullshit just a strong fast good pokemon that can make real progress in record time.
The thought process behind this team is essentially. Man Volcanion is so good wish he wasnt weak to rocks. Enter keldeo. Keldeo resists rocks so the team can forgo removal which is a huge boon in such a fast paced meta for such a fast paced team.
Keldeo 2 shots the entire OU roster bar none sans tera. And if u see garg or glowking on the opponents team try to go keld early before they have a chance to tera. (keld terad pump into pump also kills glowking if it comes in then tries to tera on you). Even after they tera you still kill them quite easily with focus blast and sword. Keldeo has no actual switchins whatsoever in the entire OU roster. Using this keldeo is extremely free points. Perhaps too free because I have noticed an increase in pex and like latios stall teams on high ladder. Until you get 1900 keldeo is the undisputed goat.
Keldeo is modest for extra waterpower and losing almost no relevant speed tiers. (max speed gliscor is always running the walled by gambit set)
Why does it have focus blast? tremendous question. it originally didn't but then I started facing garganacles and av alomomolas. Focus blast easily nukes them. You can give up sword for vaccuum but the 100% accuracy strong move is better in most games I play.
Keldeo never misses. Keldeo never fails. Keldeo will obliterate every OU mon in its path of destruction. Do not be afraid to tera keldeo early and often for a kill. This team was built to handle not being able to tera anything defensively. That doesn't always play out like that, but in many games getting early kills is superior to waiting forever for the right time to strike.

Pecharunt
Pecharunt @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Poison Puppeteer
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Parting Shot
- Malignant Chain
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
Pecharunt is a fantastic pokemon in its own right but is unmatched as a partner for keldeo. Pecharunt's malignant chain is such a threatening move even with absolutely no investment. It essentially forces the opponent to go to gholdengo/ slowking/ gambit/ corv/ treads/ lu/ gliscor/ garg.
Keldeo 1hkos ghold corv treads lu gliscor and gambit easily, netting you a free kill or attack. I will stay in on garg and focus blast it.
Roaring moon comes on glowking.
Maximum defense pecharunt is also fantastic currently. with an intim from lando it easily walls treads and tusk, preventing a spin. This thing lives roaring moon attacks, one of the only ways to beat ogerpon, clowns on zamzenta. All around amazing pokemon in the current metagame. This team doesn't really care for or even want pech to outspeed tusk. Pech + lando deals with tusk but both are hit extremely hardly initially. I'm seeing weavile start to get used more. Weavile is comically impotent vs max def pech. Never switch out of weavile with pech you win the 1v1 sans sd weavile and this team has nothing else for low kick weavile.
Shadow ball is superior to hex on this team. The team has no status besides pech itself. We need the defense drops vs dozo and the pp and base power improvement are huge.
Kingambit
Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Kowtow Cleave
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
They say VIG can you even build without gambit and to that I say no. It's an addiction. Much like heroin I believe I need it at all times. Whenever I see a gholdengo and I don't have him, I get very sad. When I see 20% +2 roaring moon and scramble my team looking for an answer I find solace under the king's royal guidance.
Kingambit is a fantastic keldeo partner as well. What comes in on gambit? Corv tusk Lando and moltes. All of whom are packed up easily with a double to keldeo.
Kingambit provides a secondary defensive answer as the team gets worn down. Max hp Gambit lives any attack and kills back especially with tera dark. You guys know what kingambit does.
I opted for max hp kingambit, I believe his defensive value is massive throughout a game and lets him live almost any attack and kill back or sd and go for the win. Max hp gambit also beats fairy gholdnego who would otherwise be annoying for the team to deal with.
Ting-Lu
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Ruination
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
Ting Lu fits well on this team for several reasons. We need something to beat raging bolt. A ghost resist and a dark resist defensively to pair with pech. Furthermore ting lu provides offensive pressure with ruination and strong attacking moves.
I opted for heavy slam on this lu because the team is weak to valiant and enamorous. I have also seen hattrene rise in usage so I like heavy slam to beat hatt 1v1.
Spikes are not all that relevant here. Never trade hazards with someone. This team is weak to hazards and has no removal so u must play hard and fast to win, which is very doable. Slowing down the game by spiking is a blunder many times and I see people make that mistake on ladder all to often. The alluring temptation of a spike is overwhelming but practice self control and realize that many times attacking or ruinating is superior.
Landorus
Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Psychic
I opted for landorus over the great one because we needed a ground immune. Landorus also keeps ample pressure up being able to uturn into moon or keldeo. Landorus is necessary on this team to combat roaring moon who would be an overwhelming threat without landorus.
Intimidate is massive. At -1, pech can wall tusk and prevent a spin so playing around with landorus and pech to prevent removal is a way to play around removal as well as the way to beat atk invested ice spinner tusk in general with this team.
Earthquake is a billion times better than ep don't want to hear it. Ep does jack shit to a terad gambit and this team relies on lando to handle gambit. 4 speed is all you need for gambit so it is all the speed we need.
As for the fourth move honestly no idea what the best 4th move is on lando. I am not giving up spedef or speed to make a special move hit harder. Psychic does a chunk to tusk and zenta while ignoring tusk's helmet over grass knot. It beat hawlucha one time, so it provided value. Is it stupid? Probably. Go ahead and make the 4th move whatever you want.
Roaring Moon
Roaring Moon @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Acrobatics
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
In the initial version of this team this was speed booster roaring moon, because I thought we needed speed control and had a bad ho matchup overall. That did not turn out to be the case. Even against ho, I always wanted attack booster because moon is so strong into ho and can even 6-0 webs if they lead araq against it.
Moon is a strong, fast, threatening pokemon which helps keldeo break down defensive cores. I went with 3 attacks dd fly for the superior ho matchup with ohko on valiant and ample setup opportunity with the tera.
This team needed an offensive fast knock off pokemon to round out the team. It also wanted a pokemon to setup and beat offensive teams, relying on keldeo to take care of more defensive ones. Moon is the pokemon that fit the bill the best and is a tremendous pokemon itself.
Threats
UU pokemon.
I know that keld is UU but that is where the best keld anwers are throughout any tiers. Keldeo is certainly better in OU than UU. Mostly because it is amazing in OU.
Toxapex- keldeo's mortal enemy single handeldy making him unviable 2 gens in a row. This guy on stall is the absolute worst matchup to play against.
Hydrapple- this guy has regen and a 4x resist to keldeo stab. Especially paired with a ghost or glowking this becomes infuriating to play against
Water absorb clod- absolute cteam luckily barely exists in OU saw it once ever using this team
latis- specs pump tera water does extraordinary amounts of damage so very dealable with, but this will always come in if it is at 100% hp.
Volcanion- isnt uu but kills every single pokemon easily. Annoys keldeo by being immune to water.
This team handles everything in OU pretty well and losing with it is a skill issue on my and your part if u lose to 6 ou mons with this team. Except for these 2
Walkling Wake- kills every pokemon easily in sun requires lu to tera. Tera water wouldn't even help because you would just make their bolt better.
Garganacle- specifically tera water annoys this team to no end. You should get up max hazards and try to force the garg out and make doubles to never let it recover. It is far easier said than done.
