SV OU Sun Team but I am bad at Pokemon

Torkoal (M) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Overheat
- Yawn
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin

Standard Torkoal sun set, yawn to get a free switch, overheat for some chip damage or even a surprise kill, stealth rock and spin for some support.

Walking Wake @ Choice Specs
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 244 SpA / 12 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Steam
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Hurricane

Walking Wake is the main sweeper, with powerful hydro steams tearing through teams, with draco dealing with resisting dragons and flamethrower dealing with wellspring ogerpon. Hurricane is for a surprise if drizzle comes in.

Lilligant-Hisui @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Solar Blade
- Victory Dance
- Ice Spinner

Lilligant is the secondary sweeper, having some excellent damage and enough speed to outspeed most anything even if it has a scarf, and able to pick up a victory dance boost to swoop in for the kill if it gets the chance. Ice spinner works excellently for baiting in a Gliscor or Garchomp coming in to counter and picking up a free kill.

Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin

This Pokemon is basically useless I do not know why it is here I barely use it. It can't beat other Great Tusks, it's knock off role is filled by roaring moon, as well as earthquake being filled in by moon as well. It is usually used as sacrifice fodder.

Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- U-turn
- Sucker Punch
- Court Change

Cinderace is used for easy pivots out of Lilligant or Walking Wake, resisting most counters and easily being able to either U-turn out to reset choice on WW or Roaring Moon, reset sun, and is even able to pick up a kill.

Roaring Moon @ Choice Band
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: dark
EVs: 32 HP / 220 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- U-turn

Roaring Moon can easily pick up surprise kills with knock off, and rid the opposing team of multiple items trying to get rid of roaring moon, with significant chip damage as well. When there are no more fairies or steel types Roaring Moon can easily clean up with Outrage. Earthquake can be used on Toxapex without fear of contact, and can do significant damage on Toxapex even when locked into Outrage. U-Turn can get Moon out of sticky situations and can reset sun.

Hey, you seem to have a nice sun team going, I noticed you have tera bug on a lot of the sets, and you didn't

explain why, so let me help you with some of the sets

On :Torkoal: go with this set

Torkoal (F) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
- Flamethrower
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Yawn

Water is a general better defensive typing, and since you have high defense, inverting in SpD helps you sustain hits longer, speed is for other torkoals should you encounter then, flamethrower helps to break dragapult's sub, which can be helpful, and unlike overheat, doesn't have the harsh -2 penalty

On Walking wake, change your tera type to water, this will help you deal more damage towards anything that its not a dedicated wall to it

On Great Tusk, go with tera poison and Ice Spinner over Close Combat, Poison will help you take on gliscor's toxic, and kill it with ice spinner, it will also help with rillaboom's and iron valiant's attacks

On Liligant, since you're using chlorophyll, maybe Swords Dance over victory dance could be better since you're buying turns, and you want things to die, and use tera grass over bug for extra solar blade damage

And that's it really, you should be having an easier time with the team, I hope you like this version more, good luck

Thank you! I completely forgot to change the tera types, sorry about that, but this looks a lot better. Thank you for the help!

Hey there,

As a fellow Sun user, I say solid team!

Since Roaring Moon got sent to Uber, what have you done to replace it?

I think the team really lacked a pivoter for when you get stuck in a bad situation, so I've been running U-Turn Gliscor so I can get spikes, U-Turn out, earthquake poison and steel types, and toxic. I've also tried out flip turn regenerator alomomola with wish as well, which has gone a lot better, but without the benefit of spikes.

Interesting, can you post a new pokepaste of your team now?

I myself don't have any pivoters. I don't believe I have struggled because of it, but having one does have benefits.

This is my team for reference:

I had Lilligant-hisui before, but after the suggestion of someone reviewing my team, I went with Brute Bonnet to counter Ghlodengo and Dragupult, which has worked surprisingly well.

I have been running this team, mostly the same but with Gliscor. Gliscor is really nice against Iron Valiant and Iron Moth which are both problem Pokemon against sun teams, and I've kept Hisuian Lilligant. Lilligant is nice for revenge sweeping. I usually run Victory Dance for it so after I lose a mom and still have some sun I can switch in, v dance for boosts, they'll either attack but won't have enough damage, or switch into Gliscor. Then I ice spinner Gliscor, and even if they protect they are in a bad situation where they are pretty much forced to sac a Pokemon. Usually Ice Spinner Great Tusks or Lilligant can take out Dragapult, thinking about changing to a proto speed great tusks so I can out speed Dragapult, and then for Gholdengo if it isn't running air balloon Sandy Shocks will take it out, and if it is, Sandy Shocks has enough damage to make sure you can kill with whatever else you have pretty easily.

i know. btw u might wanna prepare to redo the team again since gliscor is getting suspected
I don't think it'll end up banned, but if it does Alomomola will be nice, or I was thinking a Slowking Galar, although no chilly reception is somewhat problematic for no easy switch.
