I’ve been lurking around these forums for about nine months by now, and I’ve always found myself draining the hours away up until my recent short hiatus from Pokemon. Now, I've decided it's time to start off here, and I've decided to begin with an RMT. I haven’t always enjoyed teambuilding, but it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with it. Hear about a new team archetype or a popular one? I’ll make my own team off of it. I’ve thought about making RMTs numerous times, and I can see quite a bit of growth. In XY, I’ve mainly created bulky offense teams. For the first few months, Rotom-Wash was undeniably my teambuilding crutch. Gradually, I’ve branched away, used other pokemon that I eventually fell in love with as well, and more.

This team is Hyper Offensive. Although I have had less experience with other archetypes, Hyper Offense is the one that I’ve had the least experience out of all the offensively biased ones. Although in the past, I’ve never really enjoyed the concepts of it, I’ve grown to enjoy them and love the way you can recklessly play with it, and sacking pokemon is almost guaranteed to happen once (No tough decisions, yay!). This team is built around a pokemon that has been my favorite for a few years by now, Scizor - of course his mega form.

Teambuilding Process:
scizor.gif
First, I started with Scizor of course.

garchomp.gif

Afterwards, I needed a suicide lead with good synergy with him, and Garchomp fit the bill.

azumarill.gif

I felt as though I needed a little glue to round off weaknesses and add resists, since realistically, I won’t be switching Scizor into much. Azumarill fit the bill, and all of his weaknesses were already covered.

Afterwards, I slapped on a Bisharp, as my team was looking a little weak to him and I also tweaked a Low Kick on him to deal with Ferrothorn better.

gengar.gif

Gengar was an obvious next pick, thanks to his great synergy with Bisharp, only missing out on a fire resist, and also gave the team some special firepower.

Next, I felt as though I needed a scarfer to support Scizor. Preferably, it should have a support sacrificial move such as Healing Wish, and Celebi provided that and U-turn. However, Memento was preferable, since Scizor is my last choice to switch into things. So, for a short test run, I had Scarf Gardevoir with both HW & Memento, but I felt like I could do better. Then, enter Latios.

Thorax (Scizor) (M) @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Superpower

Ah yes, Mega Scizor, the star of the show. Previously, I’ve always used Bulky SD Mega Scizor, but despite it being my favorite pokemon - I barely used it. Now, I adore Offensive SD MZor, and it’s amazing to watch how much it can clear away after a few checks have a little prior damage - it has saved me down 4-1, and won me games in stalemates after a Memento (Which I’ll cover later). Light Metal is to minimize damage from moves like Low Kick, and 232 speed EVs allows for it to outspeed Jolly Tyranitar and many notable things slower. Bug Bite is a move I haven’t touched in a while, but hits certain pokemon harder, such as Slowbro, Rotom-W, MSableye, and pokemon that resist this Scizor’s coverage are either banned or much less common. Superpower nukes walls like Ferrothorn and Skarmory. It’s also very important for getting past Heatran (Although if it’s offensive I’m screwed). You can see some pretty heavy centralization around it. Despite this, it brings home victory only about a third of the the time - after all, the other members still have other purposes than clearing the path for it to sweep.
garchomp-4.gif

Carcharias (Garchomp) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

Suicide Lead Garchomp is the rocks setter, and also a reliable pokemon to have in general and sometimes I can use it as a Heatran check. The set is pretty standard. I can say I use Rough Skin over Sand Veil due to having no weather and how situational it is, but it’s really because I’ve been screwed over by opposing ‘Chomps with it in a tour before. Dragon Claw is standard STAB, because even though Outrage isn’t too much to give up due to her being a suicide lead, it means that it can’t reliably take care of Heatran while throwing a temper tantrum. Fire Blast is extra coverage to round it off to deal with Skarmory and Ferrothorn. I have tried other suicide leads like Terrakion and Azelf, but Garchomp proved most useful despite the lack of Taunt.
azumarill-3.gif

Azure (Azumarill) (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Aqua Jet

Azumarill is a pokemon that threatens to usurp Scizor in my favorites list for two reasons: One, it’s adorable, two, it hits like a truck. Three could be its typing, but that’s icing on the cake. Choice Band Azumarill is undeniably on of my favorite pokemon to use. I also find that its the pokemon that takes the most, and hardest beatings - the thing is that more often than not, it murders things back. STABs are self-explanatory, and Superpower is there to nuke Ferrothorn on the switch - something which happens so much by now that I wonder why they still switch-in. 168 speed EVs are to outspeed 4 Speed Skarmory since 88 HP provides a nice Stealth Rocks number and Skarmory has little reason to not drop its last four EVs in speed.

bisharp.gif

Checkmate (Bisharp) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Low Kick

Bisharp is a pokemon that has recently risen quite a lot up my list of favorites. At first, I despised it. Then I learned to deal with it, although I still got swept every once in a while. Now I adore it, and I even use it as my own Bisharp check! 72 HP allows for a little extra bulk and a Life Orb number, a Jolly Nature and 184 Speed EVs allows for me to outspeed Jolly Tyranitar, which is quite important for taking it out before it Mega Evolves, or after its scarf is knocked off. Low Kick does more than check other Bisharps, it’s also its best move against Magnezone and Heatran (If you haven’t noticed by now, a big concern for my team).
raikou.gif

Voltaic (Raikou) @ Assault Vest/Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Raikou was suggested for this team by thecrystalonix. While it disrupts the synergy slightly by worsening a ground weakness, it has generally improved the team's chances against Latis, 'Zard Y, and any pokemon that uses flying as its primary STAB that's OU relevant. So far, Raikou has done its job well. The item choice is a bit of a toss up, as AV allows for Raikou to reliably switch-in to pokemon and allows for a little more ease on prediction, while Specs hits like a truck but makes prediction more important. I personally prefer Specs, but it's up to you. Shadow Ball is a move that just generally has great neutral coverage that can be used as a safety net in case you aren't really sure about what decisions are going to be made and need all the pokemon you have.

latios.gif

Negator (Latios) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Trick
- Memento

I’ve always loved Latios, from when I was little, to now, for different reasons in each time. Choice Scarf Latios actually provides a lot to this team. Even when I switch him into certain pokemon like Mega Lopunny, they don’t suspect anything initially due to how uncommon this set is. Trick was selected over extra coverage to cripple walls, especially Skarmory - a fairly big concern that a few of my sets also address. Memento is a move that helps Scizor set-up whenever possible, as it allows for easy set-up on offensive pokemon. Remember me talking about how Scizor won me a game earlier while I was down 4-1? He couldn’t have done it without a helping hand from Memento. Furthermore, as a HO team, this team hates MLoppuny. Latios can OHKO it Turn 2 if it suspects nothing. (ibn4 this no longer works once people see this team).

I’m quite happy with how this team is as of now, and what I love even more is that every member pulls their weight. It has its fair share of flaws defensively and a little offensively, although I'm more worried about what it can't break past. It’s undoubtedly the most successful HO team I’ve ever made. Despite this, I’m open to suggestions and I’ll be willing to try them. Good luck, have fun!

Threatlist: S to A- Rank

S Rank

647.png
Keldeo - Latios generally keeps him in check, Azu in a pinch, and Gengar can check.
Metagross (Mega) - A big threat, he can come in on one member easily, and force Azu and maybe Scizor out. Regardless, Bisharp can finish him off, and I generally just throw all my priority at him - or hope he won't risk or win the speed tie with Gengar.
Sableye (Mega) - Very annoying, but Azumarill can check it and Scizor can Bug Bite past it unhindered in a sweep if it has switched into rocks twice before. Despite this, my team isn't particularly fond of it.

A+ Rank

elvqhTa.png
Altaria (Mega) - Not the biggest threat to my team, but can definitely snowball through if I let it.
184.png
Azumarill - I have no switch-ins, but a little combined firepower can take it down.
Bisharp - My own Bisharp says hi.
Charizard (Mega-X) - A smaller threat than MAltaria, but can hinder my Scizor's sweep. Generally, I want to keep my Azu and Latios alive.
036.png
Clefable - Scizor and Bisharp don't mind it too much, although its quite bulky with its investment. Azumarill can power through with repeated Waterfalls.
WHn0uhM.png
Diancie (Mega) - Scizor and Azumarill say hi.
Gengar - A threat, for sure, but it'll go down to Latios or repeated hits from priority.
Gliscor - Physically Defensive Sub-Toxic is annoying as can be, but I generally break its substitute with Garchomp and then force it out or KO with Azumarill.
Gyarados (Mega) - A huge threat if Azu goes down, my best bets then are to whittle it down and Draco it, or hope that Scizor can take a hit and retaliate.
485.png
Heatran - 5 out of 6 members of my team have a way to deal with at least one variant of this thing.
645.png
Landorus - Nothing can switch-in of course, but it's pretty easily revenge killed or forced out.
Landorus-T - Pretty annoying, but scarf sets can be surprised by my Latios and Scizor can power through ones at 76% health at +2 and set up extra in its face.
Lopunny (Mega) - A huge threat to any HO team, Latios and priority are my best bets.
Latios - Nothing likes taking a hit, but it can be KO'd by every member of my team.
x568l7X.png
Slowbro (Mega) - After rocks, it cannot hinder Scizor, and Bisharp as well as Gengar can leave pretty big dents in it.
663.png
Talonflame - Perhaps the biggest threat to my team in existence, nothing can stop it if it's set up but a shaky Bisharp 50/50. The best I can do is maintain enough pressure so that it never can switch-in without rocks being up or into a hit. Use Raikou to fix.
642.png
Thundurus - Another big threat, as it can force out pretty much every single pokemon on my team and I can only take it down with priority or leaving one of my speedy pokemon paralyzed. Much less of a threat with Raikou.

A Rank

Celebi - LO attackers with HP Fire or Earth Power can be a little problematic, but it's generally fine.
Charizard (Mega-Y) - A big hinderance to a Scizor sweep, and 2HKO's absolutely everything if Modest (Which it should be IMO). My best bets against it are keeping the pressure up, and outspeeding it or beating it down with priority. Raikou makes it less of a threat but it can't really switch-in.
Excadrill - Especially threatening under the sand, but Azu can OHKO it with AJ and Bisharp can take off most of its health. Mold Breaker scarfers are slightly more threatening with Raikou.
598.png
Ferrothorn - So annoying even with Superpower on two pokemon, Low Kick on one, Focus Blast on another, and Fire Blast on my lead... But I'm pretty well prepared.
t1uu1nb.png
Gallade (Mega) - I have never, ever been swept by this thing. Latios can put a large dent in it (OHKO after CC drops), and all of my priority users can whittle it down. Even less of a threat with Raikou.
Garchomp - Nothing likes switching in, but it's not the biggest hinderance to a sweep, nor is it particularly difficult to deal with.
Gardevoir (Mega) - I can deal with it fine with Gengar and all three of my priority users, the concern is when it gets in safely.
380.png
Latias - Basically Latios, except it can survive a +2 Bullet Punch after rocks 3/8th of the time.
490.png
Manaphy - Just nuke it before it can take out more than one pokemon.
310-m.png
Manectric (Mega) - A threat for sure, but Bisharp is pretty cool with it and Latios can murder it.
Pinsir (Mega) - One of the bigger threats to my team, but I can whittle it down with my priority and Latios can take a +2 Quick Attack at full health. A much smaller threat if you run Raikou.
479w.png
Rotom-W - Highly annoying, and prevents Garchomp from doing anything but set up rocks. But I make a habit out of clicking Play Rough most of the time when a Rotom-W is present on the other team and my special attackers can leave large dents in it.
Scizor (Mega) - Probably in the top three for threats to my team, as a team built around this 'mon, it can't do much about it. Raikou makes it a little better, but it's still a big threat.
080.png
Slowbro - Scizor, Bisharp, Gengar, and Latios can all check it, but only one is okay with switching in.
Tyranitar - It's really annoying that it can trap and kill both of my special attackers, but it means nothing to all my physical attackers.
Venusaur (Mega) - My special attackers can wear it down, and Offensive ones only need a little prior damage and rocks to be taken out by Scizor at +2, and defensive ones can't do much back. Except Sleep Powder. Screw Sleep Powder.

A- Rank

142-m.png
Aerodactyl (Mega) - Outspeeds everything but Latios, does huge damage to everything, but it gets OHKO'd by a third of my team instantly and heavily weakened by 2 others.
Diggersby - Bisharp and Scizor are the priority users I have that can take a Quick Attack, but I'm not too fond of it otherwise.
Gyarados - Azumarill can take most hits and do massive damage back, Bisharp loves being Intimidated, and Latios can outrun it at +1.
Heracross (Mega) - A huge threat despite being outsped by most of what I have, I pretty much have to sack something if it comes in safely.
Hippowdon - Extremely bulky, but Azumarill can break past it and my special attackers can leave large dents.
385.png
Jirachi - Bisharp, and Garchomp - other members can usually leave a dent. But it's more than a little annoying.
Magnezone - Scarfed ones are the biggest hinderances to a sweep, but it can't come in safely on any of the pokemon I have.
Mamoswine - Scizor and Azumarill are by best bets, as it threatens most of my team.
186.png
Politoed - Rain isn't a big concern to my team with only one fire move that's non-STAB, and doesn't enjoy being in on many members of my team, although it can do lots of damage back.
121.png
Starmie - Offensive Rapid Spin is a pretty big threat to most of my team. Reflect Type isn't as big of a concern to my special attackers but then it can't be revenge-killed by Bisharp or Scizor.
Tornadus-T - Outspeeds everything but Latios, can threaten everything, but it doesn't like taking priority from anything I pack, or my special attackers.

yo, cool team you got, mega sciz is really good rn, especially with bisharp. one thing i noticed is your team dosent like bulky waters alot, and scald burn always suck. Since thundy and reflect type starmie are huge threats to you, i was thinking raikou would make a great addition. it also checks the birds you dont like(talon, pinsir), as well as rotom-w. talon especially is a huge threat bc it eats up bullet punches from sciz and the bisharp mindgames arent too good, and will-o-wisp talon goes to town on ur team.

Try this over gengar imo.
Hope I helped :], i use a team similar to this and i know how much of a pain birds are to the team(especially talonflame)
*edit* raikou also helps with keldeo, lati gets worn down without roost

Yeah, I've beeen thinking of replacing Raikou over Gengar for a while, as it would help deal with birds better, Thundy, Mega Man, and to an extent, Mega Metagross. I've been too busy laddering and having Gengar hit things - but Raikou would definitely help. I won't really mind losing the immunity to fighting, but it would make Azelf is bit harder to deal with (But then I always lead with Bish against it anyways). I"ll try out both AV and Specs, thanks!

EDIT: Here's what I've found, Raikou kind of actually compounds a ground weakness, but he's been working pretty decently. I haven't seen a bird yet, but Specs seems to be working well since my team is okay with Offensive Starmie and Reflect Type is kinda passive.

I would suggest av just bc being able to switch up moves on raikou is nice over being locked into tbot for example

Yeah, that's true but I find Raikou's power so underwhelming sometimes. It does make it easier to break past Skarmory and doesn't worsen too many match-ups though.
