STEEL Team Six

Hello Everyone, this is my first actual post for Smogon because I'm a brand new member. I hope you guys like my team. I currently run this team for X and Y and I've won 70 battles, no losses. I haven't lost with this team yet, so I haven't thought about changing it. I've always managed to work around Physically Bulky Pokemon and seize the victory. . Now that I've introduced myself some, let's dive right in!

Nickname: Falchion
Skarmory (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
Skarmory has amazing defenses and makes a great lead as well! The rocky helmet is great because in many situations, the opponent could do more damage to themselves by touching this stone cold bird! Ground immunity fits nicely on this team as well. Whirlwind gets rid of those pesky Pokemon who like to set up with stat boosting moves while you lay traps.

Nickname: MagmaSteam
Heatran (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Ancient Power
- Roar
Super Effective? The almighty Special Defensive Heatran laughs at all super effective special hits. Roar plays nicely with Stealth Rocks up, and Lava Plume sends fear into it's enemies with the high burn chance. Even with minimal Special Attack investment, he still can dish out powerful attacks. He is the fire protection for this team as well, which is very useful. Ancient Power helps deal with pesky Talonflame and can be very rewarding with the stat increases.

Nickname: RightfulKing
Aegislash (M) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Atk / 152 Spd / 104 HP
Adamant Nature
- King's Shield
- Autotomize
- Shadow Claw
- Sacred Sword
The King of Steel. Aegislash is an absolute monster. Good offense and defense, easy Autotomize, King Shield making physical Pokemon feel useless, Weakness Policy, and the fighting type move providing great coverage... Aegislash has reason to be feared. He also makes for a good Spin Blocker. He is meant to be take damage in Shield Form, activating the Policy, and dish out damage in Blade Form.

212.png
Nickname: Hellsing
Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 40 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
Scizor can be utilized in many different ways for this team. Everyone already knows how deadly his bullet punch can be. People often fall for my Pursuit trap, however, thinking that they'll just switch to there fire type Pokemon to resist the B-Punch and OHKO Scizor on the next turn. Pursuit almost always takes out the switching Pokemon, which is great. I sometimes use Scizor as death fodder in extreme cases to provide a safe switch in for my Mawile. Superpower in combination with Choice Band scares even the bulkiest of Pokemon.

530.png
Nickname: Devastator
Excadrill (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
The Speed Devil Excadrill is here. This Pokemon is dangerously strong thanks to Adamant Life Orb. This Excadrill is mainly a late game sweeper and rapid spinner. Excadrill swoops in and Devastates the enemy's team. Rapid Spin is to rid the traps of course. Iron Head is great STAB and provides the heavenly flinch Hax from time to time.

Nickname: Luna Grace
Mawile-Mega (F) @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate-Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Sdef
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- Sucker Punch
Mawile received a blessing this gen, in the from of a stone. Huge Power deals massive damage and it is a beautiful dragon slayer. Ice Punch provides good coverage. Sucker Punch plays beautifully with the immense power that Mega Mawile can dish out.

I hope that this team is to your guy's liking:) Any advice is always appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to Rate My Team!

Hey steel buddy! I made a mono steel team as well!

So from personal experience, I would say even though you have your physical wall skarmory, infernape/darminatan/talonflame could still be a huge problem for you, as well as rotom-w and possibly clefable (I just ran into a really annoying one). I suggest heatran for a fire absorber, he's good at that.

Other than that I love your team!

Thank you :) I just fought Gian Carlo(GCPM11) during his livestream and beat him with my team:) 900 viewers watched me win and I felt amazing! Y37W-WWWW-WWW4-CY4J Check it out on your guy's VS Recorder:)

are you doing mono-steel? But tyranitar is no steel!
switch it with heatran pls

anyway isn't aerial ace better than acrobatics?

Mono-type teams don't work like that, it's not "mostly Steel but lol tyranitar" it is "all Steel-Type" or "regular OU", no exceptions.

So yeah replace it with Heatran lol !_!

I also suggest replacing Fire Blast with Lava Plume. Lava Plume has a slightly lower BP but has much higher accuracy and triple the burn chance. I suggest replacing Acrobatics on Scizor with Swords Dance to ensure that Scizor has a better chance at sweeping. Acrobatics would only be helpful with bulky grasses that have HP fire. I suggest replacing Stone Edge on Mawile with Swords Dance as well. At +2, Mega-Mawile can OHKO most fire-types with a sucker punch anyways. Get rid of Aerial Ace on Excadrill and replace it with Iron Head for STAB and more useful coverage. Other than those tweaks, I think that this Mono-Steel team is great!

Sorry do NOT give Scizor Swords Dance. I didn't see the hoice Band. Give Scizor Superpower instead for the much needed Fighting-Type coverage seeing as you have no other Fighting-Type moves on your team besides Sacred Sword on Aegislash.

Seeing as many Talonflames are now running Shuca Berry + Natural Gift, it means Heatran isn't a surefire Talonflame counter. This being said, I suggest changing your Aegislash spread to Weakness Policy + Autotomize. This allows you to take a Flare Blitz, then Autotomize as you get your WP boost and get off a huge hit if not downright KO the Talonflame with Shadow Claw. Some other minor changes are getting rid of Sandstorm on Heatran and relplacing it with Roar, and replacing Dragon Pulse with Roar as your team lacks a phazer. Change Acrobatics to Superpower on Scizor to deal with Hetran. Change Excadrill to Mold Breaker over Sand Rush to deal with Rotom-W. My last suggestion is, on Mega Mawile, changing Stone Edge to Substitute or Swords Dance, your choice. Mega Mawile doesn't need the coverage that Stone Edge provides. The obvious thing that needs to be said is that using a monotype team in standard OU will never be as viable as a normal team. If you really want to do well in OU then don't use a monotype team. That being said, as far as monotype teams go, this one is pretty good :]

Aegislash set:
Aegislash @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Atk / 152 Spd / 104 HP
Adamant Nature
- King's Shield
- Autotomize
- Shadow Claw
- Sacred Sword
Enough speed to outspeed max speed jolly Talonflame after an Autotomize, the rest into HP for Bulk.
