Greetings everyone,
I only recently started taking showdown more seriously and this is my first RMT.
I thought of combining some sets I have found around smogon to create a team that so far has served me well, despite my lacking skills.
Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earth Power
- Toxic
I chose seismitoad because of its access to stealth rock, solid defensive stats and access to toxic. It can switch into many physical attackers and threaten them with its offensive moves, burn and poison.
I put 248HP to make HP odd since I have read that it is efficient if there are hazards on the field (can someone confirm?).
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 232 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Aromatherapy
I chose SpD clefable because it can check dragapult, hydreigon and many others. It can also offer wish support (important for seismitoad) and can heal status. I really like exchanging toxics in seismitoad vs seismitoad match ups only to heal mine.
Originally, this had thunderwave but I thought that it could have many opportunities to heal status since it can switch on so many special attackers and passive pokemons.
Dugtrio @ Choice Band
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 232 Atk / 24 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Reversal
I have seen that this is the best set to take on toxapex as it does not care about burn. It is also great and revenge killing clefable and many other mons in general. Banded sucker punch saved me many many times. Stone edge can one shot rotom H and heavily dent flying types.
I have debated with myself a long time before choosing this over focus sash and I must say I am not completely sure.
Skermory (Corviknight) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Defog
- U-turn
This thing can wall so many pokemons it is insane.I am not really sure about having brave bird. I have considering iron head mostly so if you could help me out it would be great.
I heavily appreciate its slow u turn to bring in one of my breakers.
Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
I am not sure I need thunderbolt but I am leaning more towards "yes". It forms a core with aegislash in which the idea is that their counters gets taken on by having two ghost attackers.
This is the first breaker of the team and also its speed control. I find it very easy to use and super reliable.
Aegislash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Steel Beam
- Shadow Sneak
Shadow ball is that I spam. Flash cannon is to deal with fairies and steel beam to hit neutrally and grab many KO or dent opponents heavily. Shadow sneak is for general priority.
Originally, I wanted to try a choice band aegislash so to have one special and one physical wallbreaker but in the end I feel like this set is more reliable.
