Earth Eater Skeledirge checks spinners such as Donphan and Iron Treads, while Water Absorb Skeledirge walls Quaquaval and Primordial Sea users such as Choice Band Barraskewda, allowing Skeledirge to use them as setup fodder or inflict them with burn. Skeledirge is additionally able to threaten Corviknight that seek to use Defog. Hex provides more damage when paired with burns inflicted by Will-O-Wisp, but Shadow Ball offers unconditional and reliable damage. Torch Song + Slack Off provides guaranteed stat boosts and healing, and when paired with Skeledirge's decent physical bulk, may allow it to serve as a bulky sweeper. Skeledirge wants to have teammates such as Clodsire and Ting-Lu that are able to set up entry hazards, as Skeledirge is excellent at keeping them on the field. Due to its low special bulk, Skeledirge is vulnerable to special wallbreakers such as Polteageist and Chi-Yu, so it appreciates teammates such as Blissey, who offer significant special bulk and speed control in the form of Thunder Wave. Earth Eater Skeledirge is vulnerable to Water-types such as Quaquaval, so it appreciates teammates such as Desolate Land Ceruledge and Rotom-Wash that can deal with them. Ground-types such as Clodsire and Ting-Lu give Water Absorb Skeledirge a difficult time, so team mates such as Chien-Pao and Greninja help it deal with them. Foes such as Well-Baked Body Corviknight and Kingambit also hinder Skeledirge, so pairing Skeledirge with Sandy Shocks or Quaquaval helps mitigate this matchup. Alternatively, teammates such as Ting-Lu can provide physical bulk and phazing support with Whirlwind, and Corviknight can check Dark-types such as Roaring Moon and Meowscarada that hinder Skeledirge.

Earth Eater Skeledirge is vulnerable to Water-types such as Greninja and Quaquaval, so it appreciates teammates such as Meowscarada and Kilowattrel who can deal with them Personally I'd prefer defensive teammates listed as examples given both Meowscarada/Kilowattrel can't at all check them if they switch in and threaten Skeledirge, also Skeledirge is threatened by Greninja anyway so its not the best example. Ground-types such as Clodsire and Ting-Lu give Water Absorb Skeledirge a difficult time, so team mates such as Chien-Pao and Greninja help it deal with them. Fire-type immune foes such as Well-Baked Body Corviknight and Kingambit also hinder Skeledirge, so pairing Skeledirge with Sandy Shocks or Quaquaval help mitigate this matchup. Alternatively, team mates such as Fluffy Garchomp and Ting-Lu can provide physical bulk and phazing support with Dragon Tail and Whirlwind respectively. Pretty much perfect content wise, could potentially add Corviknight as a potential partner given it can check annoying Dark-types like RMoon/Meowscarada who can hinder it when trying to act as a physical wall.
