INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone, I am back with another team. I have always wanted to build around specs Regieleki as it kills nearly everything besides ground types. I tried a few things like ring target Zoroark but that was way too predictable and Zoroark is a sitting suck after tricking if it even manages to do that. Then I stumbled upon Trick Jirachi and built a team around that. Surprisingly the team performed really well at even high ladder. Without further ado, here is the team.

PROOF OF PEAK

This team went 35-7 on ladder. Also missed no.1 by 1 point :(

TEAM BUILDING PROCESS
:ss/jirachi: :ss/regieleki:

I started with the core of trick ring target Jirachi and Regieleki.

:ss/jirachi: :ss/regieleki: :ss/garchomp:

I added Garchomp for beating other dragon types and Heatran. Garchomp also is the electric immunity of the team.

:ss/jirachi: :ss/regieleki: :ss/garchomp: :ss/dragonite:

I was weak to Rillaboom and Urshifu therefore i added Dragonite . Dragonite acts as a bulky setup sweeper and is the ground immunity of the team.

:ss/jirachi: :ss/regieleki: :ss/garchomp: :ss/dragonite: :ss/volcarona:

Team lacked a special sweeper so I chose Volcarona . Volcarona fits perfectly with the dragons and forms a very powerful offensive core.

:ss/jirachi: :ss/regieleki: :ss/garchomp: :ss/dragonite: :ss/volcarona: :ss/bisharp:

I needed some sort of priority on the team and a ghost resist therefore I added Bisharp. This slot was originally Crawdaunt but was later changed to Bisharp because of the better match up against rain and grass types.

THE TEAM

:SS/jirachi: :Ring-Target:

Jirachi @ Ring Target
Ability: Serene Grace

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or
EVs: 140 HP / 112 Def / 252 Spe

Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Trick
- Iron Head
- U-turn/Healing Wish

Jirachi is the main partner of specs Regieleki and the stealth rocker of the team. Jirachi's main switch-ins being Corviknight and Landorus on most teams allows it to trick the ring target with ease ( Thunderbolt for Lando and Earthquake for Corv ). Jirachi is also a great check to Scarf Tapu Lele probably the best anti HO mon. Max speed and max attack with jolly nature allows it to out speed Kyurem, Specs Lele and max speed Landorus. A spread of 140 HP / 112 Def / 252 Spe can be used to live scarf Lando's earthquake and get the trick off but scarf Landorus is rather rare so that is not much of an issue. Stealth rock and Trick are self explanatory. Iron head is a great stab move with the 60 percent flinch rate because of Serene Grace allowing Jirachi to beat offensive mons like Rillaboom and Dragonite with a bit of luck. U-turn provides momentum and helps in getting its offensive teammates safely. Healing wish can also be used over U-turn to heal up a teammate and bring them safely in .

:ss/regieleki: :choice-specs:

Regieleki @ Choice Specs
Ability: Transistor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Electro Ball
- Thunderbolt/Thunder
- Ancient Power/Rapid Spin

Regieleki is the main breaker and speed control of the team. With transistor and a choice specs attached it 2hkos almost everything barring ground types. If Jirachi gets the trick successfully on the opposing ground type Eleki almost always claims a kill if it gets an opportunity to attack. Max speed and max spa are self explanatory. Timid is used over modest as timid allows Regieleki to out speed scarf Kartana ,Blacephalon and weather mons like Venusaur and Kingdra. Volt switch is a great move on Eleki as it damages opposing mons hard and provide momentum .Volt switch usually puts opponents in the range of next thunderbolt. Electroball is used as a stronger stab move against bulky and slower mons like clefable and galarian slowking. Thunderbolt on the other hand is useful against more offensive mons and just in general being a spammable move as electro ball becomes quite weak against faster mons. Thunder is risky but can be used over thunderbolt for grabbing the ohko on mons like Alolan Ninetales and Victini which don't die to specs thunderbolt. Last move slot is mainly personal preference. Ancient power helps in picking off weakened Landorus, Kyurem and also 2hkoing Thundurus-therian whereas Rapid spin can be used as a method of hazard removal but the rest of the team isn't really weak to hazards so I prefer ancient power.

:ss/garchomp: :life-orb:

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Scale Shot
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail/Fire Fang

Garchomp is one of the physical sweeper and electric immunity of the team. Max speed with jolly nature allows Garchomp to out-speed common base 100s and also mons like Hydreigon,Tapu lele ,Urshifu and Kyurem. Max attack and life orb is for maximum power though lum berry or leftovers can also be used. Lum berry helps against toxic Landorus and scald burns whereas Leftovers increases the longevity . Swords dance allows Garchomp to break bulky mons like Tapu fini and Clefable and often sweep opposing teams . Scale shot not only does good damage but also gives garchomp +1 speed which allows it to outspeed faster mons like Dragapult and Tapu koko. Earthquake is a strong ground stab that threatens Galarian Slowking and Heatran. with a ohko and most neutral targets after a sword dance boost. Last move can be aqua tail or fire fang. Aqua tail is great for killing unsuspecting Landorus at +1 after rocks damage which allows Regieleki to clean whereas Fire fang is a great option against Corviknight, Buzzwole and Ferrothorn.

:ss/Dragonite: :heavy-duty-boots:

Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch/Dual Wingbeat
- Roost

Dragonite acts a defensive backbone against strong offensive mons , ground immunity and a physical sweeper. Dragonite's incredible typing , bulk and ability lets it handle opposing HO mons like Rillaboom, Kartana, Urshifu and Volcarona. Heavy duty boots protects Dragonite from hazards ensuring multiscale is always intact on switch in. Max speed with jolly nature allows it to out speed Tapu koko, Dragapult and Zeraora after a speed boost. Dragon dance makes dragonite a powerful sweeper especially cleaning late game. With earthquake Dragonite threatens Tapu koko, Toxapex and especially Heatran. Ice Punch allows Dragonite to beat Landorus before it can get a toxic off, once again helping regieleki . Ice punch allows forms a really good combo with earthquake hitting most mons neutrally or super effectively. Dual wingbeat can also be used over ice punch as a way to ohko Buzzwole , Urshifu and in general being a decently powerful stab move. Roost is for longevity and allows Dragonite to rack up multiple dragon dances.

:ss/volcarona: :heavy-duty-boots:

Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain
- Psychic

Volcarona acts as the special sweeper of the team. Heavy duty boots allows Volcarona to switch in freely without fearing stealth rocks. Max speed and spa with timid nature is for maximum speed and power. Flame body can come in handy against physical attackers especially knock off from Weavile and grasses and u turn from Landorus,Tapu Koko etc. Quiver dance is a mandatory move on Volcarona which boosts special attack, special defense and speed allowing it to sweep many teams .
Flamethrower is a powerful stab move threatening most neutral mons at +1 spa. It is used over fiery dance for power and fire blast for accuracy. Giga drain allows Volcarona to beat Tapu fini,Gastrodon and Slow twins. Giga drain also lets Volc kill weakned Tyranitar and Hippowdown. Psychic helps Volc in beating Toxapex and opposing fire types. Volcarona pairs really well with the previous two dragons beating each other's checks (Corviknight,Buzzwole for dragons and Toxapex,Heatran,Blissey for volcarona).

:ss/bisharp: :Life-Orb:

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Bisharp provides the team with strong priority, ghost resistance and a physical sweeper. The dark and steel typing offers useful resistances to Dragapult and Weavile stabs. Max attack and speed is self explanatory. Life Orb provides that extra fire power to the moves. Swords dance allows Bisharp to threaten opposing teams immensely. Even if Bisharp doesn't sweep it does enough damage so that its teammates can clean especially weakening Ferro and Corv for Garchomp and Dragonite. Defiant is an incredible ability which takes advantage of the ever present Landorus intimidate and defog attempts. Knock is the main stab of Bisharp. It also comes with the benefit of removing items from opponents. Sucker punch is a great priority which lets it pick off faster opponents after a SD boost. Sucker punch also helps in stopping opposing sweeps like SD Kartana, Garchomp and Rillaboom. Iron Head lets Bisharp hit fairy and fighting types. The flinch chance can come in handy especially against Hippodown and Tangrowth.

THREAT LIST

:ss/garchomp:

Swords dance Garchomp is the biggest threat to the team. After a swords dance boost it kills every member of the team. The most efficient way to beat it is to not allow a SD(or hope for speed tie win ). Weakening Garchomp with something else like Volc allows Bisharp to kill it with sucker punch. Similarly Dragonite and Garchomp can bait scale shot and getting the defense drop allows Bisharp to kill easily.

:ss/blacephalon:

This team has no switch-ins to specs or scarf Blacephalon but it is not that much of an issue as hazards limit it switch ins and if Blacephalon predicts incorrectly it is a setup opportunity for one mon or another. (DD Dragonite on fire move and SD Bisharp on ghost move)

This team looks sick.

I have Leki trauma from seeing it so much on the ladder now (thanks Pinkacross ). That mon is low key broken because of what it does to a player’s psychology. You can see opponents switching ground types out of mons they otherwise counter just to preserve them. It’s incredible.

Long live Regieleki. It will take a lot of creativity to make Regieleki work in a metagame with Gliscor, but this stuff gives me hope. No cheese. Just well implemented, non overly-reliant strategies to apply pressure using Regieleki. Extremely well done! :D
