Draft Snorlax

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 5 onwards

**Price Range**: 7-10 points

**Overview**: Snorlax utilizes its sheer bulk to be a bulky sweeper or act as a wall, and its brilliant coverage exemplifies what a great Pokemon can be, giving it the means of breaking through typical checks while having little limitation to customizability. It does suffer from its only viable recovery being Rest, which is often wanted on every set. Snorlax has minimal issues with its special bulk and keeps a majority of the special attacking threats at bay; however, physical attackers can take advantage of its poor Defense and it struggles in such an offensive metagame due to its pace of play and clear weaknesses, making it quite niche when considering its strengths against better walls in the current metagame.

Common Roles
========
**Setup Sweeper**: Curse is a staple on Snorlax, closing down the reliable way to revenge kill it from Defense boosts and giving it the offensive output to sweep through teams from Attack boosts. This set typically relies of Rest and Sleep Talk to give it extra longevity.

**Special Wall**: Snorlax has astounding special bulk, which allows it to check many specially offensive Pokemon. It can stay healthy after taking hits by using Rest, it can disrupt foes with Yawn and Encore, and it can deal damage with its great movepool.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Body Slam, Double-Edge

**Setup Moves**: Curse

**Utility Moves**: Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Yawn, Encore, Brick Break

**Coverage**: Brick Break, Crunch, Earthquake, Fire Punch, Gunk Shot, Hammer Arm, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, High Horsepower, Ice Punch, Iron Head, Outrage, Rock Slide, Seed Bomb, Supercell Slam, Thunder Punch, Wild Charge, Zen Headbutt

Niche Moves
========
**Facade**: If Snorlax is under threat of being statused, it can run Facade to turn it against the foe.

**Belly Drum**: Snorlax can maximize its solid Attack stat and become a fierce late-game cleaner at the cost of its HP.

**Block**: Block can enable Snorlax to trap a Pokemon lacking a pivot move and get extra boosts from Curse or get a Belly Drum off.

**Recycle**: Recycle allows Snorlax to restore extra health from an already-consumed Berry or even gain another temporary shield with a resistance Berry. It gets far more mileage out of this move if used in conjunction with Gluttony.

Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: Leftovers is a great item for Snorlax to extend its longevity in matches where it would be valuable late-game, making it less dependent on Rest to regain health.

**Chesto Berry**: Chesto Berry allows Snorlax to immediately wake up from a Rest and apply more pressure without having to rely on Sleep Talk.

**Sitrus / Iapapa Berry**: Sitrus and Iapapa Berry allow Snorlax to stay healthy after Belly Drum in combination with Gluttony; it can also increase its longevity via either Berry to gain an extra chance to break down even physically defensive walls.

**Choice Band**: Snorlax can leverage its sheer bulk to be a solid Choice Band attacker. Its STAB moves and coverage options means it can generally fit four moves onto its moveset and break through multiple bulkier foes.

Niche Items
========
**Custap Berry**: Custap Berry pairs extremely well with Gluttony, as Snorlax can get the effect far earlier and surprise a lot of teams with a strong move when they might anticipate another ability or item.

**Clear Amulet**: Clear Amulet helps Snorlax maintain its Attack boosts against Intimidate users. It can also block Parting Shot and other stat drops that may hinder it.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Snorlax can benefit more from Heavy-Duty Boots in matches where entry hazards may be more effective; it can then wall strong special attackers without being chipped down throughout the game.

**Mental Herb**: Snorlax is vulnerable to moves such as Encore and Taunt, so it can be prevented from constantly using Rest and other moves consistently. Mental Herb allows it to bypass this issue so it can't get locked into a move or forced into attacking when low on HP.

**Red Card**: Snorlax's incredible bulk means it could run Red Card to possibly phase out a boosted foe and regain momentum.

**Eject Button**: Eject Button allows Snorlax to take a strong special move and then pivot out to a counter that is too frail to switch in immediately.

**Chople Berry**: Chople Berry lets Snorlax survive one strong Fighting-type attack and counterattack with a strong STAB or coverage move.

Tera
========
Snorlax can be considered as a secondary Tera Captain, as its Normal typing, albeit what makes it a great wall, can be punished by plenty of Pokemon with strong Fighting-type moves; Tera Ghost can make Snorlax immune to Fighting, although it then cannot run Curse to set up. Tera Flying and Fairy can flip matchups against Fighting-types by resisting their moves and retaliating with a strong Tera Blast. It can also run Tera Ground to boost Earthquake, Tera Poison to boost Gunk Shot, and even Tera Normal to make its STAB moves that much deadlier. It may also take advantage of the plentiful resistances Tera Grass and Steel may offer while offsetting their weaknesses with Thick Fat.

Draft Strategy
========
Snorlax is a relatively standard bulky attacker that can lean into its excellent movepool and gargantuan special bulk. Since the metagame is very offensive, however, it struggles more than it ever did previously and it requires plenty of support to be a great team member.

**Physical Walls**: Snorlax is particularly frail on the physical side, so it would appreciate a teammate that can soak up such hits. Pokemon like Great Tusk, Pecharunt, and Landorus-T can take the strong Fighting-type moves that come to remove Snorlax, and in return, they appreciate its ability to keep special attackers at bay.

**Fast Pivots**: Snorlax excels at taking special hits, so Pokemon like Meowscarada, Cinderace, (AC) and Tornadus-T can all pivot to it for it to take the huge blows that would normally knock them out, giving it time to set up or heal back to full health with Rest.

**Entry Hazard Setters**: Snorlax is great at forcing switches with its combination of bulk and damage output, so Pokemon such as Hisuian Samurott, Deoxys-S, and Garchomp can spread Stealth Rock and Spikes so it has a better time cleaning through teams.

**Wallbreakers**: Snorlax really appreciates wallbreakers that can remove Ghost-, Rock- and Steel-types that are immune to or resist its STAB moves and take its coverage options well. Fighting-types with Dark-type coverage like Urshifu-S, Great Tusk, and Iron Valiant do this incredibly well, as they can keep foes that check Snorlax reliably at bay.

Checks and Counters
========
**Ghost-type Pokemon**: Ghost-types can take Snorlax's STAB attacks, forcing it to run extra coverage, which is often difficult to fit when it wants Rest, Sleep Talk, and Curse. Many bulky Ghost-types, such as Gholdengo, Annihilape, and Pecharunt, can also reliably take its coverage hits.

**Disruption**: Snorlax is incredibly prone to Taunt, Encore, and niche moves such as Disable, as they would lock it out of a crucial move that could completely stop a sweep from happening or make it useless, forcing it to swap out.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Snorlax has a rough time with strong physical attackers, as it has subpar Defense. Fighting-types such as Urshifu-S and Iron Valiant can muscle through its gargantuan HP or force it out. Other non-Fighting-type wallbreakers such as Gouging Fire, Palafin, and Meowscarada can effectively break through Snorlax.

**Entry Hazards**: Snorlax can be easily worn down entry hazards or forced into running Heavy-Duty Boots, which is generally suboptimal with movesets that may want to have the gradual recovery of Leftovers or utilise utilize either Sitrus or Iapapa Berry. Hisuian Samurott can set Spikes while dealing damage and stop Snorlax from making much progress over a game. Other Pokemon such as Ting-Lu and Deoxys-S are excellent entry hazard Setters that can reduce its effectiveness.

**Phasing**: Snorlax is easier than most Pokemon to phaze, as it generally requires boosts to start dealing major damage against foes, so Pokemon that take it on reliably, such as Skarmory, Mandibuzz, and Hippowdon can remove a boosted Snorlax and heal off the damage.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 5 onwards

**Price Range**: 6 to 8 points

**Overview**: Snorlax has two jobs: Rest and Sleep Talk. It loves utilizing its sheer bulk to be a potent sweeper or act as a wall, and its brilliant coverage on exemplifies what a great Pokemon can be. However, Snorlax has fallen from grace in recent years due to power creep and is now on the lower end when considering its strengths against better walls in the current Draft metagame. Would talk more about its actual role on teams and its weaknesses in relying on Rest for recovery and bad physical bulk.

Common Roles
========
**Setup Sweeper**: Curse is a staple on Snorlax which allows it to boost its attack and patch up its low defense, closing down the reliable way to revenge kill it and giving Snorlax the offensive output to sweep through teams with it's plethora of coverage options. Would also mention Belly Drum in this section as an alternative to curse that leaves it more vulnerable to being revenge killed.

**Special Wall**: Snorlax has astounding Special bulk which allows it to check majority of the specially offensive Pokemon around. With the appropriate speed tier to Very low speed lets it use Rest to recover after being attacked, which means Snorlax has reliable recovery to make sure it can comfortably live any strong special attack and Rest it off.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Body Slam, Double-Edge

**Setup Moves**: Curse, Belly Drum, Amnesia

**Utility Moves**: Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Endure, Yawn

**Coverage**: Brick Break, move to utility Earthquake, Crunch, Fire Punch, Gunk Shot, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, High Horsepower, Ice Punch, Iron Head, Outrage, Rock Slide, Seed Bomb, Supercell Slam, Thunder Punch, Wild Charge, Zen Headbutt, Hammer Arm

Niche Moves
========
**Facade**: If Snorlax is under threat of being statused, it can run Facade and turn that boon against the foe.

**Stockpile**: Snorlax can use Stockpile to boost its bulk even further and give it extra leverage against mixed attackers. Far too niche

**Block**: Block can enable Snorlax to trap a Pokemon lacking a pivot move and get extra boosts from Curse or get a Belly Drum off.

**Encore**: Typically too slow to Encore any Pokemon into a move, a read could give Snorlax an extra turn to setup or Rest back to full health. Generally isn't going to get the opportunity, and doesn't want to take up a slot on a setup set

**Recycle**: Restoring berries with Recycle allows Snorlax to get some extra health out of a consumed berry or even give it another temporary shield with a resist berry.

Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: Leftovers is a great item for Snorlax to extend its longevity and make it less dependant on Rest to regain health.\

**Custap Berry**: Custap to cure sleep immediately

**Healing or Resistance Berries**: Snorlax can use a multitude of different Berries. Sitrus Berry allows Snorlax to stay healthy after Belly Drum. Chople Berry can let Snorlax live strong Fighting attacks and counter-attack with strong STABs. Lum Berry allows Snorlax to heal from any status coming its way if it lacks Rest on its moveset. Custap Berry can also give Snorlax one extra attack to help get the jump on faster foes. Gluttony would let Snorlax use these berries earlier which can give it the opening its team needs. Split this section in two, one for healing berries with gluttony and one for resist/status berries, move Custap to niche.

**Choice Band**: Snorlax can leverage its sheer bulk to be a solid Choice Band attacker. Its STAB and coverage options means it can generally fit 4 moves onto its moveset and break through multiple bulkier foes.

**Damage-boosting Items**: Life Orb can boost Snorlax's output at the cost of health which is generally not recommended, Expert Belt is a better item as it can use its coverage options to hit many foes super-effectively. Silk Scarf can also be used to boost its STAB moves on sets where it may omit some coverage options for other moves. It could even utilise Muscle Band for a small boost to all its physical STAB moves and coverage. Move to niche, generally isn't using damage boosting items besides choice band

Niche Items
========
**Covert Cloak**: If Snorlax decides to leave Rest out of its moveset, Covert Cloak can be a great item to block secondary effects that may hinder Snorlax.

**Clear Amulet**: Snorlax being able to stop Intimidate and moves such as Parting Shot from lowering its stats will make its ability to sweep far more potent as it would make the foe resort to phasing, in which a boosted Snorlax will attack first.

**Red Card**: Snorlax's incredible bulk means it could run Red Card to possibly phase switch out a boosted foe and regain momentum in a match up.

**Protective Pads**: Flame Body and Static can be a nuisance for Snorlax so Protective Pads can stop these from activating for the foe and allow Snorlax to remain safe. Can just run resto chesto to heal and cure status

**Stat-boosting Berries**: As berries can be recycled and Snorlax has Gluttony as an ability, it could use such qualities to stack up boosts from Liechi Berry and possibly Starf Berry, as it can repeat this process multiple times to off-set its random nature.

**Room Service**: Being so slow already, Room Service would slow down Snorlax to a point where it would be incredibly unlikely it could be outrun within Trick Room, allowing Snorlax to dish out more damage without as big of a threat of being revenge killed. Far too niche

Tera
========
Snorlax should be considered as a secondary Tera captain, as its Normal typing, albeit what makes it a great wall, can be punished by plenty of Pokemon with strong Fighting-type STAB moves; Tera Ghost can alleviate that single weakness Snorlax has and turn it into an immunity, whilst also giving Snorlax the option to run Tera Blast to hit back at other Ghost-type Pokemon. Tera Flying can flip match-ups against Fighting-types by resisting their moves and retaliating with a strong Tera Blast. Snorlax can be rather flexible with its Tera type, it is able to run Tera Ground to boost Earthquake, Tera Poison to boost Gunk Shot, or even Tera Normal to make its STAB moves that much deadlier. Defensively, it can take advantage of Thick Fat to remove weaknesses or gain resistances, such as with Tera Grass or Tera Fairy.

Draft Strategy
========
Snorlax is a relatively standard bulky attacker which can lean into its traits as it wishes what traits? (movepool and special defense), but power creep means its not as good as it used to be, and it requires plenty of support to be a great team member.

**Physical Walls**: Snorlax is particularly frail on the physical side; it would appreciate a teammate that can soak up such hits. Pokemon like Great Tusk, Pecharunt, and Landorus-Therian can take the strong Fighting moves that come to remove Snorlax and appreciate its ability to keep special attackers at bay.

**Fast Pivots**: Snorlax excels at taking special hits, so Pokemon like Landorus-Incarnate, Blaziken, and Samurott-Hisui I would choose some faster pivots like Meow, Cinderace, etc can all pivot out into Snorlax for it to take the huge blows that would normally knock them out and give Snorlax time to setup or heal back to full with Rest.

**Entry Hazard Control**: Snorlax may have great switch-in capabilities and longevity, but Entry Hazards can keep it from staying healthy over the course of a match and will prevent it from taking certain attacks which it would usually not have trouble with otherwise. Pokemon such as Donphan, Weezing-Galar and Scizor Iron Treads all have options to remove Hazards and complement Snorlax well with the rest of their toolkit.

Checks and Counters
========
**Ghost-type Pokemon**: RestTalk sets are typically walled out by Ghost-type Pokemon, and if they aren't, Snorlax will not have a boosting option, making it easier for a foe to exploit its weaknesses and lack of breaking power.

**Disruptive Pokemon Disruption**: Snorlax is incredibly prone vulnerable to Taunt, Encore and niche moves such as Disable, as it would lock Snorlax out of a crucial move that could completely stop a sweep from happening or make Snorlax useless as it is forced to swap out.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Snorlax has a rough time with strong physical attackers as it has subpar physical defense therefore Pokemon such as Urshifu-S or Heracross can muscle through it's gargantuan HP or force it out. However, they have to be careful switching-in as a Body Slam paralysis could enable Snorlax as opposed to shutting it down.

Add some example Pokemon to the top two categories, like Gengar or Pecharunt or Scream Tail

Split this into Sitrus/Iapapa & Chople Berry. Sitrus/Iapapa can be common, Chople can be niche. The rest aren't really relevant. Iapapa works better than sitrus on gluttony sets.

It's gonna get koed long before it can get a decent amount of boosts

**Room Service**: Being so slow already, Room Service would slow down Snorlax to a point where it would be incredibly unlikely it could be outrun within Trick Room, allowing Snorlax to dish out more damage without as big of a threat of being revenge killed. Far too niche

Add Eject Button - lets it take a hit & bring in faster, frail wallbreakers

Add Boots - good when it wants to reliably take hits from special attackers

Tera
========
Snorlax should can be considered as a secondary Tera captain, as its Normal typing, albeit what makes it a great wall, can be punished by plenty of Pokemon with strong Fighting-type STAB moves; Tera Ghost can alleviate that single weakness Snorlax has and turn it into an immunity, whilst also giving Snorlax the option to run Tera Blast to hit back at other Ghost-type Pokemon. Ghosts will just outspeed and kill it first Tera Flying can flip match-ups against Fighting-types by resisting their moves and retaliating with a strong Tera Blast.

Pokemon such as Donphan, Weezing-Galar and Scizor Iron Treads all have options to remove Hazards and complement Snorlax well with the rest of their toolkit. Focus more on hazard setters, since they can chip down lax's checks, especially since lax forces switches a lot. It doesn't switch in very often through a game so idt removers are as important.

Add Wallbreakers - specifically ones that can break through mons that check Snorlax & allow it to put in work late-game

Checks and Counters
========
**Ghost-type Pokemon**: RestTalk sets are typically walled out by Ghost-type Pokemon, and if they aren't, Snorlax will not have a boosting option, making it easier for a foe to exploit its weaknesses and lack of breaking power. Ghost-types can take Snorlax's STAB attacks, forcing it to run extra coverage, which is often difficult to fit when it wants Rest, Sleep Talk, and Curse. Many bulky Ghost-types, such as Gholdengo, Annihilape, and Pecharunt, can also reliably take its coverage hits

Foes like Scream Tail, Uxie, and Ogerpon can easily shut it down and take advantage of it.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Snorlax has a rough time with strong physical attackers as it has subpar physical defense. therefore Pokemon Fighting-types such as Urshifu-S or Heracross Iron Valiant can muscle through it's gargantuan HP or force it out. However, they have to be careful switching-in as a Body Slam paralysis could enable Snorlax as opposed to shutting it down. Other non-Fighting-type wallbreakers, such as Gouging Fire, Palafin, and Meowscarada, can also be effective at breaking through Snorlax.

Snorlax has minimal issues with its incredible bulk on the special side and will keep a majority of the current special attacking threats at bay however physical attackers fare far better into its poor Defense. However, Snorlax struggles in such an offensive metagame due to its pace of play and overt weaknesses; becoming quite niche when considering its strengths against better walls in the current Draft metagame.

**Primary STAB Moves**: Body Slam, Double-Edge

**Setup Moves**: Curse

**Utility Moves**: Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Yawn, Encore, Brick Break

**Coverage**: Brick Break, Crunch, Earthquake, Fire Punch, Gunk Shot, Hammer Arm, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, High Horsepower, Ice Punch, Iron Head, Outrage, Rock Slide, Seed Bomb, Supercell Slam, Thunder Punch, Wild Charge, Zen Headbutt

Niche Moves
========
**Facade**: If Snorlax is under threat of being statused, it can run Facade and turn that boon against the foe.

**Belly Drum**: Snorlax can maximise it's solid Attacking stat and become a fierce late-game cleaner at the cost of its HP.

**Encore**: Typically too slow to Encore any Pokemon into a move, a read could give Snorlax an extra turn to setup or Rest back to full health.

**Recycle**: Restoring berries with Recycle allows Snorlax to get some extra health out of a consumed berry or even give it another temporary shield with a resist berry. This synergizes well in particular with Gluttony.

Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: Leftovers is a great item for Snorlax to extend its longevity in matches where it would be valuable in late-game and make it less dependant on Rest to regain health.

**Chesto Berry**: Chesto Berry allows Snorlax to immediately wake up from a Rest and apply more pressure without having to rely on Sleep Talk.

**Sitrus or Iapapa Berry**: Sitrus or Iapapa Berry allows Snorlax to stay healthy after Belly Drum in combination with Gluttony; Snorlax being able to increase its longevity via either berry will give it the extra chance to break down even physically defensive walls.

**Choice Band**: Snorlax can leverage its sheer bulk to be a solid Choice Band attacker. Its STAB and coverage options means it can generally fit 4 moves onto its moveset and break through multiple bulkier foes.

Niche Items
========
**Custap Berry**: Write about how it can use this to overcome its terrible speed and how it is very good with Gluttony.

**Clear Amulet**: Clear Amulet helps Snorlax maintain its Attack boosts against Intimidate users. It can also block Parting Shot and other stat drops that may hinder Snorlax.

**Mental Herb**: Explain how Snorlax is super slow and prone to encore or taunt.

**Red Card**: Snorlax's incredible bulk means it could run Red Card to possibly phase out a boosted foe and regain momentum in a match up.

**Eject Button**: Eject Button allows Snorlax to take a strong special move for a teammate then pivot out to a counter which may be too frail to switch in immediately.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Snorlax can benefit more from Heavy-Duty Boots in matches where hazards may be more effective; Snorlax may then wall strong Special Attackers without being chipped down over the game. Move above Mental Herb

**Chople Berry**: Chople Berry can off-set Snorlax's one weakness as it can live one strong Fighting attack and counter-attack with strong STAB or coverage.

Tera
========
Snorlax can be considered as a secondary tera captain, as its Normal typing, albeit what makes it a great wall, can be punished by plenty of Pokemon with strong Fighting-type moves; Tera Ghost can alleviate that single weakness Snorlax has and turn it into an immunity although it may not run Curse on these sets to set up. Tera Flying or Fairy can flip match-ups against Fighting-types by resisting their moves and retaliating with a strong Tera Blast. Snorlax can be rather flexible with its Tera type, it is able to run Tera Ground to boost Earthquake, Tera Poison to boost Gunk Shot, or even Tera Normal to make its STAB moves that much deadlier. Snorlax may also take advantage of the plentiful resistances, Tera Grass or Tera Steel may offer, whilst off-setting the weaknesses with Thick Fat.

Draft Strategy
========
Snorlax is a relatively standard bulky attacker which can lean into its excellent movepool and gargantuan special bulk. Metagame shifts means Snorlax struggles more than it ever did previously and it requires plenty of support to be a great team member.

**Physical Walls**: Snorlax is particularly frail on the physical side, it would appreciate a teammate that can soak up such hits. Pokemon like Great Tusk, Pecharunt, and Landorus-Therian can take the strong Fighting moves that come to remove Snorlax and appreciate its ability to keep special attackers at bay

**Fast Pivots**: Snorlax excels at taking special hits, so Pokemon like Meowscarada, Cinderace and Tornadus-Therian can all pivot out into Snorlax for it to take the huge blows that would normally knock them out and give Snorlax time to setup or heal back to full with Rest.

**Entry Hazard Setters**: Snorlax is great at forcing switches with its combination of bulk and damage output, so Pokemon such as Samurott-Hisui, Deoxys-Speed or Garchomp will be able to spread Stealth Rocks and Spikes so Snorlax has a better time cleaning through teams.

**Wallbreakers**: Snorlax really appreciates wallbreakers that can remove Ghost-, Rock- and Steel-types that may be immune or resist its STAB move or take its coverage options well. Fighting-types with Dark-type coverage will do incredibly well here, so that would include Urshifu-S, Great Tusk and Sneasler, all three will be able to keep foes that check Snorlax reliably at bay.

Checks and Counters
========

**Disruption**: Snorlax is incredibly prone to Taunt, Encore and niche moves such as Disable, as it would lock Snorlax out of a crucial move that could completely stop a sweep from happening or make Snorlax useless as it is forced to swap out.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Snorlax has a rough time with strong physical attackers as it has subpar physical defence. Fighting-types such as Urshifu-S or Iron Valiant can muscle through it's gargantuan HP or force it out. Other non-Fighting-type wallbreakers, such as Gouging Fire, Palafin, and Meowscarada, can effectively break through Snorlax.

Add Phazing section and Entry Hazard Section, Phazing is pretty self explanatory but hazards are bad as they force suboptimal boots or limit Snorlax from coming in multiple times due to its lack of recovery and being prone to every hazard.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 5 onwards

**Price Range**: 7-10 points

**Overview**: Snorlax loves utilising utilizes its sheer bulk to be a bulky sweeper or act as a wall, and its brilliant coverage exemplifies what a great Pokemon can be, giving it the means of breaking through typical checks and has very while having little limitation to customisability customizability. It does suffer from it's its only viable recovery being Rest, (AC) which is often wanted on every set. Snorlax has minimal issues with its special bulk and will keep keeps a majority of the current opponent's special attacking threats at bay; (ASC) however, (AC) physical attackers will can take advantage of its poor Defense. Snorlax it struggles in such an offensive metagame due to its pace of play and clear weaknesses; becoming, making it quite niche when considering its strengths against better walls in the current Draft metagame.

Common Roles
========
**Setup Sweeper**: Curse is a staple on Snorlax which allows it to boost its attack and patch up its low Defense, closing down the reliable way to revenge kill it from Defense boosts and giving Snorlax it the offensive output to sweep through teams from Attack boosts. This set typically relies of Rest and Sleep Talk to give Snorlax it extra longevity.

**Special Wall**: Snorlax has astounding special bulk, (AC) which allows it to check majority of the many specially offensive Pokemon around. It can stay healthy after taking hits by using Rest, it can disrupt foes with Yawn and Encore, and it can deal damage with it's its great movepool.

Niche Moves
========
**Facade**: If Snorlax is under threat of being statused, it can run Facade and to turn that boon it against the foe.

**Belly Drum**: Snorlax can maximise it's maximize its solid Attacking Attack stat and become a fierce late-game cleaner at the cost of its HP.

**Block**: Block can enable Snorlax to trap a Pokemon lacking a pivot move and get extra boosts from Curse or get a Belly Drum off.

**Recycle**: Restoring berries with Recycle allows Snorlax to get some restore extra health out of a from an already-consumed Berry or even give it gain another temporary shield with a resist resistance Berry. Snorlax It gets far more mileage out of this move if used in conjunction with Gluttony.

Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: Leftovers is a great item for Snorlax to extend its longevity in matches where it would be valuable in late-game, making and make it less dependant dependent on Rest to regain health.

**Chesto Berry**: Chesto Berry allows Snorlax to immediately wake up from a Rest and apply more pressure without having to rely on Sleep Talk.

**Sitrus or / Iapapa Berry**: Sitrus or and Iapapa Berry allows allow Snorlax to stay healthy after Belly Drum in combination with Gluttony; Snorlax being able to it can also increase its longevity via either Berry will give it the to gain an extra chance to break down even physically defensive walls.

**Choice Band**: Snorlax can leverage its sheer bulk to be a solid Choice Band attacker. Its STAB moves and coverage options means it can generally fit 4 four moves onto its moveset and break through multiple bulkier foes.

Niche Items
========
**Custap Berry**: Custap Berry pairs extremely well with Gluttony, (AC) as Snorlax can get the effect far earlier and surprise alot a lot of teams with a strong move when they might anticipate another ability or item.

**Clear Amulet**: Clear Amulet helps Snorlax maintain its Attack boosts against Intimidate users. It can also block Parting Shot and other stat drops that may hinder Snorlax it.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Snorlax can benefit more from Heavy-Duty Boots in matches where entry hazards may be more effective; Snorlax may it can then wall strong special attackers without being chipped down over throughout the game.

**Mental Herb**: Snorlax is vulnerable to moves such as Encore and Taunt, (AC) so it can be prevented from constantly using Rest and other moves consistently. Mental Herb allows Snorlax it to bypass this issue so it can't get locked into a move or forced into attacking when low on HP.

**Red Card**: Snorlax's incredible bulk means it could run Red Card to possibly phase out a boosted foe and regain momentum in a match up.

**Eject Button**: Eject Button allows Snorlax to take a strong special move for a team mate and then pivot out to a counter which may be that is too frail to switch in immediately.

**Chople Berry**: Chople Berry can off-set lets Snorlax's one weakness as it can live survive one strong Fighting-type attack and counter-attack counterattack with a strong STAB or coverage move.

Tera
========
Snorlax can be considered as a secondary Tera Captain, as its Normal typing, albeit what makes it a great wall, can be punished by plenty of Pokemon with strong Fighting-type moves; Tera Ghost can alleviate that single weakness make Snorlax has and turn it into an immunity immune to Fighting, although it may not then cannot run Curse to set-up set up. Tera Flying or Tera and Fairy can flip match-ups matchups against Fighting-types by resisting their moves and retaliating with a strong Tera Blast. Snorlax It can be rather flexible with its Tera type, it is able to also run Tera Ground to boost Earthquake, Tera Poison to boost Gunk Shot, or and even Tera Normal to make its STAB moves that much deadlier. Snorlax It may also take advantage of the plentiful resistances, (RC) Tera Grass or Tera and Steel may offer, whilst off-setting the while offsetting their weaknesses with Thick Fat.

Draft Strategy
========
Snorlax is a relatively standard bulky attacker which that can lean into its excellent movepool and gargantuan special bulk. Metagame shifts means Snorlax Since the metagame is very offensive, however, it struggles more than it ever did previously and it requires plenty of support to be a great team member.

**Physical Walls**: Snorlax is particularly frail on the physical side, so it would appreciate a teammate that can soak up such hits. Pokemon like Great Tusk, Pecharunt, and Landorus-Therian T can take the strong Fighting-type moves that come to remove Snorlax, (AC) and in return, they appreciate its ability to keep special attackers at bay. (AP)

**Fast Pivots**: Snorlax excels at taking special hits, so Pokemon like Meowscarada, Cinderace, (AC) and Tornadus-Therian T can all pivot out into Snorlax to it for it to take the huge blows that would normally knock them out, giving it and give Snorlax time to setup set up or heal back to full health with Rest.

**Entry Hazard Setters**: Snorlax is great at forcing switches with its combination of bulk and damage output, so Pokemon such as Hisuian Samurott-Hisui, Deoxys-Speed or S, and Garchomp will be able to can spread Stealth Rocks Rock and Spikes so Snorlax it has a better time cleaning through teams.

**Wallbreakers**: Snorlax really appreciates wallbreakers that can remove Ghost-, Rock- and Steel-types that may be are immune to or resist its STAB move or moves and take its coverage options well. Fighting-types with Dark-type coverage will do incredibly well here, so that would include like Urshifu-S, Great Tusk, (AC) and Sneasler, all three will be able to Iron Valiant do this incredibly well, as they can keep foes that check Snorlax reliably at bay.

Checks and Counters
========

**Disruption**: Snorlax is incredibly prone to Taunt, Encore, (AC) and niche moves such as Disable, as it they would lock Snorlax it out of a crucial move that could completely stop a sweep from happening or make Snorlax it useless, forcing as it is forced to swap out.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Snorlax has a rough time with strong physical attackers, (AC) as it has subpar physical defence Defense. Fighting-types such as Urshifu-S or and Iron Valiant can muscle through it's its gargantuan HP or force it out. Other non-Fighting-type wallbreakers, (RC) such as Gouging Fire, Palafin, and Meowscarada, (RC) can effectively break through Snorlax.

**Entry Hazards**: Snorlax can be easily worn down entry hazards or forced into running Heavy-Duty Boots, (AC) which is generally suboptimal with movesets that may want to have the gradual recovery of Leftovers or utilise utilize either Sitrus or Iapapa Berry. Hisuian Samurott-Hisui which can offensively set-up Spikes which will likely while dealing damage and stop Snorlax from making much progress over a game, (RC). Other Pokemon such as Ting-Lu and Deoxys-Speed S are excellent entry hazard Setters which that can reduce its effectiveness.

**Phasing**: Snorlax is easier than most Pokemon to push out of the game phaze, as it generally requires boosts to start dealing major damage against foes, so Pokemon that take it on reliably, such as Skarmory, Mandibuzz, (AC) and Hippowdon, (AC) who all take it on reliably can remove a boosted Snorlax and heal off the damage.
