Slurpuff makes for a threatening mid- to late-game sweeper due to its unique combination of Belly Drum and Unburden. Its solid mono-Fairy typing allows it to set up on threats such as Choice-locked Passimian and Silvally-Dark. Belly Drum is Slurpuff's main boosting move, further solidifying its role as a sweeper. Facade is a great neutral coverage option against Salazzle and frail Pokemon that resist Drain Punch, such as Alolan Raichu. Finally, Drain Punch is a threatening coverage move that allows Slurpuff to shatter threats that Play Rough wouldn't normally hit, such as Steelix, Copperajah, and Silvally-Steel, while also threatening big threats such as Rhydon, Drampa, and Snorlax. The 4 EVs are invested into HP to make sure that Slurpuff reaches exactly half of its health after Belly Drum.

Only a few common Pokemon—Vileplume, Steelix, Mudsdale, Charizard, and Rhydon—can survive +6 Slurpuff's attacks with Stealth Rock up. Thus, a team with Slurpuff should be able to force these Pokemon to take damage so that Slurpuff can sweep the opposing team. Vileplume can be baited in and damaged by Grass-type attackers, such as Virizion and Decidueye; after taking damage, Xatu and Drampa are able to block Vileplume's recovery due to their abilities, making them particularly helpful teammates. Work Up Silvally-Fairy and Silvally-Steel can lure in the other four Pokemon and chip them down with a super effective Flamethrower or Surf, KOing them or getting them weak enough for Slurpuff to KO them. Passimian is able to lure in Charizard and Mudsdale to weaken them and remove their items with Knock Off. Once its few defensive answers have been sufficiently weakened, Slurpuff is usually able to sweep if it gets a setup opportunity. Offensive Steel-types and Psychic-types like Duraludon and Indeedee can help by forcing the opponent to use a Choice-locked Fighting-type or Dark-type attack to revenge kill them. After KOing your Pokemon, they will be locked into a move that would allow Slurpuff to set up. VoltTurn support from teammates like Passimian, Inteleon, and Rillaboom is helpful to bring Slurpuff in against Pokemon it can set up against, such as Vaporeon. Finally, Vanilluxe is able to set up Aurora Veil for Slurpuff to set up more easily.

Facade looks to punish status spreaders that want to cripple Slurpuff, such as Vileplume, Weezing, Rotom, and Salazzle.
it's also good neutral coverage so make sure to put that in. ideally slurpuff doesn't want to get status'd, but if it does, facade can be good. if it is not status'd then its good coverage vs the likes of salazzle and frailer pokemon that resist drain punch (such as raichu-alola), cuz play rough can miss. think of an eloquent way to put this in the analysis when mentioning facade!

mention somewhere that the 4 EVs in HP are essential because otherwise the sitrus won't activate. 4 HP Evs make it so slurpuff reaches exactly 50% with belly drum

this is good overall but the teammates section needs a major overhaul imo. having hazard setters and removers for a pokemon that isn't dependent on those is unnecessary, for example unless slurpuff is a mon that is weak to hazards and doesnt run boots, defoggers/spinners don't need to be mentioned.

same goes for hazard removal, every person who knows enough about pokemon to check the analysis when building a team knows to use hazard removal.

so, for the teammates section what I suggest doing is removing all the points about setting and removing hazards, and instead mention teammates for the Pokemon that slurpuff can struggle with. those being vileplume, steelix, rhydon, and escavalier off the top of my head. those pokemon are problems cuz they need to be worn down before slurpuff is allowed to sweep. based on that, add counters to those mons as teammates (stress especially how vileplume is a problem cuz the most u do to phys def vileplume is like 60% with facade whereas it KOs u back with sludge bomb)

the point you have about voltturners is good because they do give slurpuff setup opportunities if the opponent switches into something that slurpuff can set up against.

some teammates I suggest:

- charizard, for vileplume and escavalier
- salazzle for the same reason
- virizion for steelix and rhydon

i'll leave the rest to you mate

when you edit this tag me and i'll look over it one more time

Its solid mono-Fairy typing seems great at first, but this just leaves Slurpuff prone to many popular Pokemon in the tier, such as Steelix and Escavalier.

this is not a flaw it's just typing advantage. instead, mention that it can set up vs things silvally-dark and choice-locked passimian

Play Rough is a powerful STAB option that allows Slurpuff to OHKO most healthy Pokemon, such as Snorlax, Jellicent, and Aromatisse
Snorlax is hit harder by drain punch rather than play rough

Belly Drum is Slurpuff’s main boosting move, further solidifying its role as a sweeper. The 4 EV investment HP is to make sure that Slurpuff reaches exactly half of its health after Belly Drum.

Slurpuff’s best fit is on hyper offensive teams. VoltTurn support from the likes of Passimian, Flapple, Inteleon, Rillaboom, and Galvantula make for good teammates, as they can safely bring Slurpuff in safely due to Slurpuff’s mediocre bulk making it difficult for it to set up. Slurpuff appreciates checks to Pokemon it struggles with, such as Vileplume, Steelix, and Rhydon. It especially appreciates a check against Vileplume, since Vileplume walls Slurpuff, and can KO back with Sludge Bomb. Charizard and Salazzle make for good teammates, for they can fry Vileplume. Virizion and the aforementioned Inteleon also make for great partners, because they can hit hard against Rhydon and Steelix. (Let's get a Vanilluxe/Aurora Veil mention in here somewhere.)

ImperialGamer517 some major feedback here:

After looking at this again, I talked to the rest of the QC team, and we agreed that the second paragraph of your analysis is too vague and doesn't demonstrate an accurate understanding of how to weaken Slurpuff's counters.

The logic "Slurpuff is walled by Steelix, so bring a Fire-type that can kill Steelix and you'll be good" is incorrect because nobody would stay in against Charizard with their Steelix, so you wouldn't get chip damage on it. That logic works for analyses of some standard Pokemon, where bringing Steelix onto the field can be useful to give, say, Virizion an opportunity to set up. However, that doesn't work for Slurpuff. Slurpuff is a late-game sweeper, so you want its teammates to be Pokemon that make the opponent bring out their Slurpuff counters and make them take damage.

An example of this: I send out Silvally-Steel. My opponent's only Steel resists are Steelix and Charizard. He sends out Steelix because Charizard's Boots were Knocked Off by my Passimian earlier in the match. I use Flamethrower/Surf, forcing Steelix to take ~35-40% damage. Since Steelix took damage, it is no longer able to survive Slurpuff's Drain Punch, and I sweep.

Thus, we would like for you to replace the second paragraph of your analysis with the paragraph below.

Only a few common Pokemon -- Vileplume, Steelix, Mudsdale, Charizard, and Rhydon -- can survive +6 Slurpuff's attacks with Stealth Rocks up. Work Up Silvally-Fairy and Silvally-Steel can lure in the other four Pokemon and chip them with a super-effective Flamethrower or Surf, KOing them or getting them weak enough for Slurpuff to KO them. Passimian is able to lure in Charizard and Mudsdale and weaken them and remove their items with Knock Off. Hazard support is also helpful to weaken these Pokemon, particularly Spikes, so setters such as Accelgor and Froslass can be good teammates. If its few defensive answers have been sufficiently weakened, Slurpuff is usually able to sweep if it gets a setup opportunity. Offensive Steel-types and Psychic-types like Duraludon and Indeedee can help by forcing the opponent to use a Choice-locked fighting-type or Dark-type attack to revenge them. Finally, Vanilluxe is able to set up Aurora Veil for Slurpuff to set up more easily.

Slurpuff works differently from most Pokemon due to its unique role as a late-game sweeper. Please do not get discouraged by this, but we just wanted to ensure that this unique role is accurately described in the analysis.

If you have any questions, please PM/VM me on Smogon, message me on Discord at Expulso#7025, or ask in the #ru-analyses channel of the RarelyUsed discord.

Thank you for being flexible about this!

Will this sorta count as 3/2, and does GP still need to check this afterwards?

This is just a revision of the second paragraph to improve it. Remove the 2nd paragraph of your analysis and replace it with the content above. ImperialGamer517

You won't need another QC or GP check; we had a GPer look over my paragraph before I sent it to you.

this is how it should look, with my edits changed slightly. (I removed a sentence from the paragraph I sent you because I realize that it's much longer than the first paragraph. I also capitalized "fighting" in "fighting-type".
