Slurpuff is a dangerous late-game sweeper on UU's hyper offense teams thanks to its potent typing and exclusive access to Belly Drum + Unburden, which maximizes its Attack and doubles it Speed in one turn. It can be quite niche, however, due to only having one opportunity to set up and the prominence of checks like Doublade and Bronzong. Drain Punch provides solid coverage alongside Play Rough at +6, reliably powering through Steel-types like Cobalion and Silvally-Steel, chunking Bronzong and Escavalier, and additionally restoring Slurpuff's health. Facade allows Slurpuff to potentially circumvent status ailments it's inflicted with and is also its best source of damage against Poison-types, such as Toxtricity and Galarian Weezing. Sitrus Berry restores Slurpuff's health after it sets up with Belly Drum, simultaneously activating Unburden. A Jolly nature is preferred for allowing Slurpuff to outrun Choice Scarf users like Flygon, Heliolisk, and Espeon. However, an Adamant nature can supply Slurpuff with a solid boost in power.
Slurpuff fits on highly offensive builds due to its nature as a late-game sweeper. Dual screens setters like Espeon and Xatu support Slurpuff excellently, supplying it with easier means of setup. This can also allow Slurpuff to run an Adamant nature due to it being harder to revenge kill behind screens. Slurpuff greatly appreciates Pokemon capable of breaking of weakening Steel-types, including Cobalion and Chandelure, due to its shaky matchups against the likes of Bronzong and Escavalier. Doublade is particularly troublesome for Slurpuff to break past, bearing an immunity to Drain Punch, which makes checks like Swords Dance Incineroar and Pangoro solid partners. It also values Pokemon capable of pressuring Galarian Weezing, which can tank a boosted Facade and KO Slurpuff with Sludge Bomb. The aforementioned Chandelure resists Galarian Weezing's go-to attacking moves, while Toxtricity can switch into its STAB moves and overwhelm it. Other entry hazard setters, like Cobalion and Necrozma, can aid Slurpuff in chipping down opposing teams. Pivots such as Nasty Plot Rotom-W can safely bring Slurpuff into play to ease setup.
