[SET]
Muk-Alola @ Black Sludge
Ability: Poison Touch
Name: Specially Defensive (Poison)
EVs: 248 HP / 12 Def / 248 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Drain Punch / Poison Jab
- Protect
[SET COMMENTS]
Alolan Muk serves excellently as a premier special wall for Poison teams, taking on special attackers like Greninja and Enamorus with ease. Knock Off threatens Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Latias and Sinistcha along with removing crucial held items such as Celesteela's Leftovers and Chansey's Eviolite, making them far easier to take down. Pursuit is used to eliminate threats switching out from Alolan Muk, such as Tapu Lele, Assault Vest Galarian Slowking, and Blacephalon. Drain Punch allows Alolan Muk to not only heal but also deal with Dark-, Steel-, and Ice-types like Hydreigon, Heatran, and Kyurem, while Poison Jab can reliably spread poison to foes such as Volcarona as well as check Fairy-types like Enamorus and Calm Mind Clefable. The EV spread maximizes Alolan Muk's special bulk while allowing it to survive an unboosted V-create from Victini after Stealth Rock. Mega Venusaur serves as an excellent complement to Alolan Muk, providing Leech Seed support to help it stay healthy and deal with problematic Ground- and Water-types such as Mamoswine, Mega Swampert, and Hisuian Samurott. Crobat provides full-on Ground immunity, which makes it capable of coming in and handling the likes of Great Tusk and Hippowdon, as well as checking fast Fighting-type threats like Mega Gallade and Iron Valiant. Galarian Weezing similarly provides Ground immunity, enabling it to check Garchomp and Ting-Lu in addition to dealing with Dragon-types like Kommo-o and Roaring Moon. Toxapex supports Alolan Muk with Scald, pressuring physical attackers such as Kleavor, Weavile, and Sneasler and checking Fire-types like Ceruledge and Cinderace. Assault Vest Galarian Slowking can serve as a specially defensive complement to Alolan Muk, being able to check Zapdos and Latios while appreciating Alolan Muk's removal of Ghost-types like Hisuian Zoroark. Nidoking can remove physical walls that check Alolan Muk such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Gliscor while also handling Electric-types such as Raging Bolt. Choice Scarf Sneasler can outspeed and remove several dangerous targets like Excadrill and Roaring Moon for Alolan Muk with Close Combat.
