Slow Pivot (Mienfoo) @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 5
Tera Type: Dragon / Steel
EVs: 156 HP / 196 Def / 116 SpD
Impish Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Fake Out

[SET COMMENTS]
Slow Mienfoo is one of the tier's most reliable leads and defensive pivots owing to its ability to switch into threats like Hisuian Voltorb with its great bulk and healing from Regenerator. Maximum Defense with an Impish nature and 23 HP let Mienfoo survive Jolly Vullaby's Brave Bird from full health, +2 Liquidation from Shellder, and opposing defensive Mienfoo's High Jump Kick after Fake Out and Knock Off, while 13 SpD boosts its longevity against Timid Hisuian Voltorb. Tera Dragon lets Mienfoo wall the most common Hisuian Voltorb set and provides a resistance to Hisuian Growlithe's Flare Blitz, while Tera Steel flips Mienfoo's weaknesses to Flying- and Psychic-type moves from the likes of Vullaby and Gothita at the expense of becoming weak to opposing Mienfoo.

Slow Mienfoo fits on almost all balance teams thanks to its versatility, but it fits especially well on teams that are otherwise weak to Hisuian Voltorb; on those teams it is often critically important to keep Mienfoo's Eviolite. This set's ability to both Knock Off bulky Poison-types and slow pivot off faster offensive threats pairs well with strong but frail attackers like Stunky, Torchic, and Hisuian Growlithe. Gothita can trap Poison-types and opposing Mienfoo off of slow pivots as well. Slow Mienfoo demands reliable switch-ins to Vullaby, which outspeeds it and often comes in on Fake Out or Knock Off and gains a Weak Armor boost, and thus checks like Mudbray, Pawniard, or Glimmet are mandatory partners. Slow Mienfoo also benefits from teammates that can take advantage of Gothita, should it be trapped, such as Vullaby and Stunky.

Tera Dragon lets Mienfoo wall the most common Hisuian Voltorb set and provides a resistance to Hisuian Growlithe's Flare Blitz i would highly recomment mentioning shellders liquidation here, while Tera Steel flips Mienfoo's weaknesses to Flying- and Psychic-type moves from the likes of Vullaby and Gothita at the expense of becoming weak to opposing Mienfoo.

I changed the EV wording(s) because using the end stat calculation could be confusing for the target audience of newer players. Let me know if you have any questions!

this isn't my writeup, but the "it" in the last sentence should be referring to Mienfoo, not Gothita, so that might change your suggestion
