Slaking w/out Truant

If Slaking was shed of his truant ability, what changes would you make to his moveset?
I like to play around with new ideas. I'm not sure if this one is new in the community, but this is what I thought up.

Cofagrigus uses Mean Look on an Opponent that has received Mummy from it.

Switch in to Slaking

Slaking uses Pursuit.

Slaking loses Truant and gains Mummy.

What should Slaking have in his moveset to compensate for his newfound ability?
Is the Strategy Article's moveset still preferred?
Would moves like Substitute be useful?

Obviously Cofagrigus is RU, but you guys in NU have more experience with Slaking than RU does.

With Slaking, it's a bit of a gamble, regardless of whether or not you have Mummy (e.g. What if Cofagrigus dies before it can use Mean Look? What if your opponent has a Scarf Sawk that you forgot about? Etc.)

I think this might be better off in the hackmons thread since the only way slacking can get rid of his ability down in NU is pursuiting yamask, who is NEVER seen, getting hit with worry seed, or switching into someone using skill swap. Slacking without it's ability would be a monster though, 100 base speed is amazing in NU, and I'm sure he could rock a CB set to great effect, or a sub 3 attacks, or a bulk up + slack off, or even a specially based lure set. The possibilities are many, and slacking sets can be fairly open ended.

To be honest, Slaking isn't bad in NU even with Truant. CB STAB Retaliate from Base 160 Attack will murder almost everything in the tier, and Hammer Arm, Night Slash and Pursuit cover everything else. Slaking also outspeeds a lot of the tier naturally, so if you predict correctly while using it, you can put opponents in really uncomfortable positions.

While I'm not saying Slaking doesn't deserve a thread, I don't think this thread specifically should have been posted... I mean c'mon; this is some really gimmicky shit you're talking about, and Coffin-bro isn't even in NU. Nobody's going to waste a slot on their team just to run a Yamask so their Slaking can use moves every turn. Why put death fodder on your team to make one Pokemon viable when you can just run two different viable Pokemon?

EDIT: Breh pretty much sums it up down there. vvvv

This has been theorized about since we learned about the ability mummy before the game came out (or a bit after, don't recall).

This is not new and it is not a good strategy.

It may be an out there idea, but using yamask and Slaking together could make sense. The ability to use a Pokemon with a total Baste stat of 680 in NU is tantalizing, but probably won't be realized. Mummy will force some serious switches if people are afraid of Slaking coming in and going beast mode. Using this strategy with some kind of entry hazard support would be best. Its not the ideal solution, but Slaking may just be worth it.

Yeah unfortunately this strategy sucks. However, CB Slaking is still really good in NU since: 100 base speed is faster than most people realize and is faster than Jynx, and base 160 attack hurts like fuck.
