Battle Spot Singles Mega Charizard X Team

Hello, I was wondering if I could receive help polishing up a team I created.

The Team
charizard-megax.gif

Weed Smoker (Charizard) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
Level: 50
EVs: 236 HP / 12 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
I picked Zard X as my mega Pokemon and speed crept it to be as fast as possible in order to outspeed Mimikyu. and Lele at +1. I think the set is pretty standard; EQ to hit Heatran, Outrage and Flare Blitz as STAB, and Dragon Dance to set up and become more threatening.

serperior.gif

Weed (Serperior) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Synthesis
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Reflect
I needed a way to deal with Tapu Fini, so I chose Serperior. With Reflect, Serperior can check a few mons such as Bulu, Breloom and even Ferrothorn, so I've found it to be a very useful addition to my team.

primarina.gif

Spooky Seel (Primarina) @ Primarium Z
Ability: Torrent
Level: 50
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 Spe
Modest Nature
- Sparkling Aria
- Encore
- Moonblast
- Aqua Jet
I wanted a Pokemon that had good offensive synergy with char X, and Primarina felt like a good choice for me.

aegislash.gif

smogon sword (Aegislash) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Shadow Sneak
- Flash Cannon
- King's Shield
I needed an answer to Lele, Bulu, Pheromosa, and Cloyster, so I picked Aegislash. Standard, but an excellent Pokemon.

zapdos.gif

Zap Deez (Zapdos) @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 140 Def / 116 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Heat Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
I chose Zapdos as a switch into Ground-types for Charizard, as a check to Salamence, the most common mega, and also to improve my matchup against Tapu Fini.

porygon2.gif

Porygob 22 (Porygon2) @ Eviolite
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover
I wasn't sure who to put for my last slot. Formerly Hippowdon, but I found I wasn't really bringing Hippo to many of my battles so I replaced it with Porygon. Unfortunately Pory does pretty much the same thing as Zapdos... I like Pory a little better than Zapdos since I've found it to be more bulky and I was thinking maybe I should replace either Zap or Pory with an offensive threat. Still not sure who to choose though. For my team's weaknesses, I've found that Mega Gengar and Mega Venusaur are quite threatening, so I was looking for a way to deal with those.

Obviously this team is far from perfect which is why I need help polishing it. Thank you in advance.

Hi dude, i think we already had a talk about your team in the Bss room. Weren't you the guy who used Waterium Z with Hydro Cannon on Prima?
Anyway Nice to see you here too :)

I'm pretty happy that you are still using most of the changes we made. As for how the team is now, i'd change Serperior's into a more defensive one, since you are using RHelmet and Reflect on it. A spread with 196 HP / 116 SpA / 196 Spe should work; you'd still be able to outspeed base 100, Garchomp, Nihilego and Adamant Mega Salamence, while being able to OHKO Volcarona at +2 with HP Rock.

Talking about the last slot, everyone has his own style. In my opinion Hippowdon fits the team pretty well, but if you don't like to play it we definitely have to find another pokemon.

With those pokemon you could try to add another mega. Probably a Mega Kangaskhan would work here, since it synergyze pretty well with those mons, specially Aegislash and Zapdos. If Kanga doesn't work, Greninja could check most of the pokemon that threatens CharX.

Yes, that was me lol. I think I'll try using Hippo again (since it allows me to bluff Zard Y more convincingly), and give the more defensive Serperior a try. Thanks for the help!

bulky Xard with Outrage and no Roost doesn't make sense to me. Outrage is used on the offensive builds that can't afford to set up DDs all the time so you can at least nuke something. If you want to use a bulkier spread its worth dropping something for Roost, otherwise use a more offensive spread with 3 attacks.

Aegislash being your only Lele check isn't great either, plus you have no special bulk on the team at all so if Aegi goes down or you can't use it Lele (or any other special attacker) will just sweep you. Easiest fix is just making P2 Calm and swapping the EVs, but the moveset won't do much back to Lele. I would replace Thunderbolt with Return. Can't beat Modest Specs Lele but that's uncommon and can be easily worked around with your team.
