PROOF OF PEAK:
(NOTE: Blargie is an ALT of mine. I fooled around with so much AG crap on Pinkacrossmy GXE was unrepairable.)
Anything Goes is a tier in which everything is allowed. Broken Mega Rayquaza, and clauses gone. In this team I have effectively abused what would be unstoppable in any other tier. I give you, my AG Webs HO.
THE TEAM:
TEAMBUILDING PROCESS:
I'm not going to lie, the first way I began to build this team was to just go for the biggest beast out there. AG has only, one S-Tier Pokemon, which is Mega Rayquaza. I started off with a Dragon Dance varient, but when shuckle came in I changed it to SD life orb for more immediate power. The combination of an extremely powerfull STAB move like Dragon Ascent combined with the most powerful priority move in the game is just insane. With 180 attack, an incredible ability, and an amazing movepool, this is a great Pokemon for my team.
As I said, this is a webs team, and the most reliable Sticky Webber in Pokemon is none other than Shuckle. Shuckle sets ub Webs, Rocks, and puts in a lot of work against stall mons, by using Toxic, and It can stop sweepers with Encore. Shuckle is super bulky, and it actually beats defogers with it's hazards up one-on-one. If a defoger switches in, you simply use Toxic as they Defog and Sticky Web away for the win. I will admit Arceus-Steel is quite an issue of a defoger for Shuckle.
Ah, Arceus Fairy. As Webs are weak to Flying types, it is really inconvenient that Mega Rayquaza is the best Pokemon in the tier. Fortunately, we have this. Arceus Fairy outspeeds almost all variants of Mega Rayquaza, and it beats it even on the switch. However, Arceus Fairy not only counters Mega Ray, it also deals well with Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, as well as being an extremely effective Calm Mind sweeper.
At this point I needed to think about Webs needs. I used Webs in OU and I know of two requirements: A Spinblocker and a Defiant/Competitive abuser. Unfortunately, no Defiant or Competitive users are close to being viable, so I settled for a Spinblocker. It is a SD Ghostinium Z sweeper. After rocks, at +2, Ghostinium kills Yveltal, which is a common 'check' to Arceus ghost. It carries Brick Break and Extreme Speed as well as Swords Dance and Shadow Force.
Remember those Water Spout Scarf Kyogre that people used to run before Primal Groudon crushed that set's Viability like a bug? Well, I do. Modest Water Spout Primal Kyogre under Webs is an Incredible counter to stall, 2HKOing Ferrothorn and doing a shocking average 40% to Chansey. This is a great wallbreaker, that can OHKO almost everything it outspeeds. However, you must be wary of the fact that Mega Rayquaza with a Life Orb OHKOs this Kyogre, so choose to switch or sack.
Yveltal works well on Webs, as they Complement it's substandard speed. Yveltal is my closest thing to stop Defogers. It can come in to Taunt after Shuckle's Death, which is usuallymfollowed by a free hit. Yveltal also 2HKOs Offensive Primal Groudon, and 3HKOs defensive ones. Overall, Yveltal is the glue of this team. It provides a ground immunity if Mega Ray is not yet ready to come out, and It also deals massive damage while stopping sweepers with Taunt.
SET, EV, & ITEM EXPLINATION:
Shuckle @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Encore
- Sticky Web
- Toxic
I'm running a standard Webs Shuckle. It has special investememt, allowing it to risk the encore on a Xerneas that may be scarf, hoping to catch the Geomancy. It also helps with Calm Mind Arceus. Encore is super helpful for stopping sweeps. Toxic allows shuckle to deal with Defog. As the defoger, (Ex. Giritina switches in, shuckle can Toxic, and then spam Webs, ultimately beating the defoger on a one to one scenario.
Rayquaza-Mega @ Life Orb
Ability: Delta Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Dragon Ascent
This is a relatively standard Mega Rayquaza. With Adamnnt nature and Life Orb, it has a chance to OHKO Xerneas after rock with Dragon Ascent. Most MegaRay run DD, but SD is more fitting for webs, for incredible stallbreaking capabilities and huge instant power. Espeed also effectively complements SD, giving Rayquaza the ability to One-Shot things that would usually outspeed and destroy it. Earthquake was not an obvious choicd, as many MegaRay run V-create. However, on Webs, speed is too important to lose. EQ is also a great coverage move, as Dragon Ascent is stopped only by Steel, Electric, and Rock types.
Arceus-Ghost @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Force
- Brick Break
- Extreme Speed
As I said, this is my spinblocker, but it works very well as a sweeper. It is max speed and attack, to maximize it's potential as a speedy and powerful sweeper. SD allows fast set up, CM is not necissary as we already have Fairy Arceus. Espeed gives double priority to this team, in the case that a Xerneas or another threatening sweeper still lives, and needs more than 1 Espeed to put them down. Shadow Force is Arceus's most powerful ghost move, and the 2nd turn hit factor rarely matters. However, in the case that it does, the Ghostinium-Z can be used, producing a very powerful ghost move instantly. Brick Break is my last move, it allows me to hit normal types switching in to Shadow Force, as well as breaking Deoxys Speed lead screens.
Kyogre-Primal @ Blue Orb
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Water Spout
- Origin Pulse
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
Kyogre is a great counter to stall. Water Spout actually 2HKOs Ferrothorn, and does about 40% to Chansey. Once these threats are weakened, Kyogre is extremely hard to deal with. Should Kyogre be worn down, or you are faced with a Spikes stack team, Origon Pulse is a good reliable STAB move. Thunder and Ice beam are self explainatory, as they give me good BoltBeam coverage. The 160 Speed EVs allow me to outspeed Jolly Marshadow by 1 point under Webs. This also allows me to outspeed Arceus under Webs.
Yveltal @ Life Orb
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- U-turn
- Oblivion Wing
- Dark Pulse
Yveltal is a great Webs abuser, as it covers Web weakneses well. First off, since Webs teams have no removal; mine not being an exeption; Yveltal is often a good lead, to Taunt, then either U turn to gain Momenum, or spam Dark Pulse. U turn, as I said, is for momentum. Often shuckle can encore Pokemon like Primal Groudon into using EQ or Precipice Blades, then switching into Yveltal and going for a U-turn is very handy to set up, and perhaps sweep. Oblivion Wing is good for Xerneas, as well as a good move to 'Finish Off' Certain mons. Oblivion Wing often helps Yveltal live another day when the Life Orb otherwise would have killed it.
Arceus-Fairy @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 228 HP / 64 Def / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Judgment
- Earth Power
This is an offensive Calm Mind Arceus Fairy that deals very well with HO and Bulkier teams that lack steel types such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn. Calm Mind and Recover is basic enough to understand, as it helps wall out Special Attackers and even some weaker physical Pokemon, such as defensive Primal Groudon. Judgement is an obvious choice for a move, as after the fairy plate it is a 120 power STAB move. Then, EP is great coverage, because it deals with the 2 types that Fairies cannot hit well: Steel and Poison. The 216 Speed EVs allow me to outspeed all Mega Rayquaza sets, except for scarf.
Have fun, feel free to use the team if you want! :D
