When I was browsing the strategy guide for Shuckle i noticed something. They all overlooked something. Shuckle was gifted with not only contrary but shell smash also allowing it's defenses to reach astronomical levels. Unfortunately with sub par attacks it was set aside, but in reality they were just overlooked.
Now i decided to make my own moveset for this Under rated gift from god and i'd like to share it with all you wonderful people.
Shuckle @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Shell Smash
- Infestation
- Toxic
- Rest
StrategyIf there isn't any steel/water pokemon in your opponents team then there pretty much screwed otherwise try to get them out the way before setting up. Use shell smash until shuckles defenses are maxed out, using rest if health is lost earlier on. Then use infestation and toxic to gradually wear down your opponent. Infestation allows both steel and poison types to be defeated also. Finally rest allows shuckle to rid itself of any burns, poison or paralysis and gain back lost HP. This thing is can be the most annoying pokemon to defeat if you don't have specific movesets.
CountersDoublade can swords dance and hit shuckle with a Super effective move before it can set up, or a combination of leech seed and a steel type with leftovers can dwindle down shuckles PP also. A strong crit user can also help early on.
Also if any of the people who wrote the article on shuckle see this, my strategy is better.
