Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Making a thread because it was really fucking good, even better than the first one imo. The plot was great and very tense at points, the action was fantastic (especially the stop-motion fights, naturally), and there was a great tongue-in-cheeck humor throughout. Also Robert Downey Jr. is awesome at whatever he does so yeah. Just a really fucking good movie. Discuss, use hide tags for spoilers, etc.

I don't know if I'd say it's better than the first one. While the game of wits was much higher I don't agree with the ending in the slightest.

I don't agree how Holmes decided to sacrifice himself at all. The modern day Holmes is a selfish man; he loves himself and living way too much. On top of that even if he had the oxygen for breathing underwater there is no chance that he would have survived the fall. So the ending seemed much like a gimmick.

I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes fan; his short stories have always been fascinating and a great read.

The first movie was very enjoyable, even though I did have qualms about the portrayal of Holmes' character. I am very excited for the second one which I'm seeing next week.

i've seen the film today, i'm come back home now. it was simply amazing, great story, great characters and a perfect combination of action and fun. the only bad point was the end, a little bit too impossible, but for the rest it was one of my favorite films ever
