ORAS Ubers Sharpie Paintbrush (Smeargle + Mega Sharpedo)

Hi there! This team is based around Smeargle and Mega Sharpedo as a Shellpass duo.

Picasso (Smeargle) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Baton Pass
- Spore
- Iron Head Edit: Debatable, Suggestions Appreciated!!!!

The reason I added Picasso to my team is because I thought Sharpie needed a Shellpass to give it the boost it needed. Prior to Picasso, I had tried a Choice Banded Goodra (Gooey), but Gooey didn't really help anyone on the team. Picasso is the team's Baton Passer, and can easily adapt to pass Shell Smash onto other teammates if necessary. It has a classic Shellpass moveset, and is especially useful to check threats such as Xerneas with Iron Head.

Sharpie Sharker (Sharpedo) @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Crunch
- Hydro Pump Edit: Waterfall
- Ice Fang

My team is based around Sharpie for the most part. I chose it for several reasons, such as its Mega Evolution, its amazing ability when mega evolved, and its useful typing. It is the superstar of this team, usually sent in right after Picasso in order to take advantage of the Shell Smash boost. The set is simple and mixed. Crunch is for the Strong Jaw and STAB boost, as well as a chance to flinch. Ice Fang is also there for the Strong Jaw boost, and its added effect of possibly freezing the opponent has only happened to me once so far. Hydro Pump is there for STAB and raw power. Finally, Destiny Bond is just in case the opponent switches into a Fire-type such as Primal Groudon.

Sudoomwoodo (Sudowoodo) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Flail Edit: Stone Edge
- Wood Hammer
- Sucker Punch

Sudoomwoodo is, put simply, your average hazard setter. I chose it as lead because its access to Wood Hammer and Sucker Punch benefits its teammates greatly. Sturdy allows it to set up, and Flail gives it a boost once Sudoomwoodo is down to 1 HP, moving first thanks to the Custap Berry. Wood Hammer, despite its recoil, is awesome for dealing with many Water-types. Finally, Sucker Punch is a priority move that can easily break foes such as Gengar or Destiny Bond Ghost-types.

Mr. Krabs is MAD (Clawitzer) @ Life Orb
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Aura Sphere

I only put Krabs on the team as a way to counter the common Dragon-type, as well as the slightly less common Normal-type. These things are done by the moves Ice Beam and Aura Sphere. It has a far more unique Special Attack and Speed than I ever thought I'd put on a spread, and Ice Beam is a beautiful 100% accurate way to counter the likes of Mega Charizard X and Garchomp.

Booyah (Shiftry) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Knock Off
- Leaf Storm
- Sucker Punch
- Headbutt

Booyah is here for Sucker Punch and Knock Off support. Its STAB moves, Sucker Punch and Leaf Storm, make it especially fearsome. However, my favorite part is its ability Chlorophyll, giving it many advantages against opponents using Primal Groudon, Ninetales, etc.

Lulz (Relicanth) @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Head Smash
- Waterfall
- Double-Edge
- Zen Headbutt

Finally, Lulz is our resident Choice Bander, with a Rock-type move and a Psychic-type move to give even more coverage. He is especially useful against Fire-types like Primal Groudon and Mega Charizard X.

Picasso (Smeargle) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Baton Pass
- Spore
- Iron Head

Sharpie Sharker (Sharpedo) @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Crunch
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Fang

Sudoomwoodo (Sudowoodo) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Flail
- Wood Hammer
- Sucker Punch

Mr. Krabs is MAD (Clawitzer) @ Life Orb
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- Aura Sphere

Booyah (Shiftry) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Knock Off
- Leaf Storm
- Sucker Punch
- Headbutt

Lulz (Relicanth) @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Head Smash
- Waterfall
- Double-Edge
- Zen Headbutt

Replays will be added if requested.

Interesting team, not sure how well it would do in the higher ladder. Probably better to just use waterfall over hydro pump on sharpedo.

Is there a particular reason you aren't using any "viable" pokemon outside of Smeargle (who is stretching it even then)? If you have a particular reason, let me know so that way I can rate your team better than just saying "you aren't using anything viable scrap this team"

Hey Little Cup Masteh,

You seem to have a surprisingly good understanding of some parts of teambuilding for a new player. Your sets are actually pretty good. There are only a few questionable moves. I would reconsider Flail on Sudowoodo, Stone Edge would be better most of the time because even at max power, Flail only hits a little bit harder, and Normal type isn't very good offensively. Also, Headbutt on Shiftry doesn't really help at all; Knock Off hits harder thanks to STAB, and you should really be switching out on anything that resists it. (EDIT: Not so sure about Iron Head on Smeargle either; even with a Shell Smash, it's not guaranteed to 3HKO Xerneas, and it does pretty much nothing to anything that isn't weak to it. Not sure what else you'd do with that fourth moveslot though.) And finally, as other people have already said, you should replace Hydro Pump with Waterfall because it hits harder (Sharpedo's higher physical attack makes up for the lower base power).

However, before you change those moves, the biggest problem with your team is the Pokemon on it. A good rule of thumb is that if you don't see it on this list, you probably shouldn't be using it in Ubers. Don't just put the highest-ranked Pokemon together and call it a team though: Make sure you have a good mix of physical and special attackers, as well as type synergy or at least type variety. If you're ready for more of a challenge, go through the high-ranked Pokemon on the list and make sure you have at least one Pokemon that beats each of them, or at least most of them.

Good luck to you! I'll be eager to see your new, improved team! :)

Okay, thank you! I'll make these changes ASAP and, if you want, post a replay of the first legit win I get. I have, in fact, looked at the list (And, just for the record, Smeargle is considered Uber in its analysis), and decided that my plan is not to USE those Pokémon common to the Uber tier, but rather to COUNTER them as best as possible.

Also, I know alot about Ubers because I read up a LOT before I even had my first battle;I knew about the most common threats before I even battled them.

If anything, I'll at least try these things seperately, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to keep Iron Head until me or someone on this thread can think of something better for Picasso. I have, in fact, already tried Waterfall on Sharpie (excuse me for calling them by their nicknames-force of habit, I guess.), and it works much better!

Thanks for the suggestion!
