Sharpedo
[Overview]

- Cool Shark is cool
- Base 125 Attack means this isn't a walkover either
- Base 95 Speed may look mediore, but thanks to Speed Boost, it can now outspeed Pokemon it usually couldn't, such as the Lati twins and Thundurus
- Good Offensive Typing, only a few Pokemon resist the Water / Dark combo
- Coverage in moves such as EQ, Ice Fang, and Ice Beam
- However, 70 / 40 / 40 defenses means this is really frail, and even a strong resisted hit can OHKO it, which means this will most likely take up the Focus Sash on your team
- However, don't underestimate the Shark, its actually really good

[SET COMMENTS]

- Speed Boost + good coverage = good Pokemon
- Waterfall is great in nailing Pokemon such as Volcarona, Terrakion, and Ninetails for SE damage
- Crunch retains good neutral coverage, hitting Pokemon such as the Lati twins, Cress, and Musharna hard as well
- Ice Fang ensures that Pokemon such as Hydregion and Virizion don't utterly wall Sharpedo, as well as hitting Pokemon such as Garchomp, Dragonite, and Salamence harder
- However, Earthquake can be used to hit Pokemon such as Metagross and Toxicroak, harder
- Protect ensures it can get at least 1 Speed Boost, as well as saving it from damage

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

- EVs are super easy to understand
- Adamant nature is used to capitilize that base 125 Attack stat, as well as Speed tying with Yanmega
- At+2 it outspeeds all of the common scarfers and and at +3 it outspeeds Tornadus under Tailwind.
- However, if one wants more Speed fast, as well as outspeeding Yanmega, a Jolly Nature is usable
- Focus Sash is great on such as frail Pokemon, making it take one hit before going down
- However, Life Orb can be used to gain even more power from Sharpedo's attacks
- Ammonguss makes the pefect partner, taking Electric, Grass, Fighting type attacks, using Spore to cripple a threatening Pokemon (usually something with priority) and having a Grass-type STAB that can take care of Water-type Pokemon
- Pokemon such as Latios, Zapdos, and Thundurus make great partners, as they have great defensive(lol, defensive synergy for a frail Pokemon) and offensive synergy between them.
- Poitoed can be used to give Waterfall a huge boost in power, though it racks up a Electric and Grass type weakness

[Checks and Counters]

- Ferrothorn resists both STABs, and can either use Power Whip or Leech Seed to beat Sharpedo
- Hydregion and Virizion also resist both STABs, and both can use their powerful attacks to beat Sharpedo
- Toxicroak can switch into a Waterfall, resists Crunch, and use Drain Punch to OHKO it.
- Conkeldurr, TechiTop, and other Pokemon with priority can take care of Sharpedo with their priority attacks.
- Hell, even Scizor can beat it using Bullet Punch, thats how frail this is
- Pokemon with Intimidate, such as Gyarados, Hitmontop, and Salamence, weaken Sharpedo, can all can KO Sharpedo with powerful STAB attacks (yes, even a STAB Waterfall from Gyarados will 2HKO it)
- Sabelye's Priority Will-O-Wisps are very annoying, crippling the shark for the match
- Speaking of Priority, Thundurus's priority T-Waves also Cripple Sharpedo, though it can't switch in to any attack
