I wanted to build a team wich focuses on mega sharpedo and choice specs tapu lele because I think this core can easily destroy the stall team and, tapu lele and sharpedo have a good synergy. I peek top20 with this team but I forgot to screen ^^'. And now let's have a look at the team!

images

Sharpedo @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- Ice Fang
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs

First Sharpedo, I think this pokemon can easily clean any offense and he can also hurt the stall a lot during the late game. Protect is a must in order to gain speed freely in it's original form. Ice fang is better than waterfall in order to knock hard Garchomp, Landorus and Zygarde. Crunch is the main stab, it's boosted by strong jaw and it can easily 2HKO any pokemon who havn't any resistance. Psychic fangs hit keldeo and toxapex who can wall him without psychic fangs.

Tapu Lele @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Moonblast

Tapu lele is one of my favourite pokemon. With choice specs, he has only 3 safe switch-in in my opinion: Celesteela spe-def, jirachi and bronzong. There is no safe switch-in in stall because Psyshock is there for chansey and Psychic is the for the other pokemon. Moonblast is the best fairy stab and I prefere focus blast on hidden power fire to hit heatran.

images

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower

Celesteela is cancer I know, but I love it. He can wall most of special offensive pokemon like tapu lele or greninja (ash or protean). I love the combo Leech Seed + Protect + lefto. Heavy slam is here to hit the fairy and flamethrower for scizor/ferrothorn.

images

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover
- Toxic Spikes

The second cancer of this team: Toxapex. He is a strong physical defensive pokemon but he can come on strong special attacker such as Mega Charizard Y or volcarona. Toxic spikes is there to weaken ennemy's team and prepare Sharpedo's sweep and haze to prevent to opponent to sweep.

images

Landorus-Therian @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Fly
- Stealth Rock

I choose an offensive landorus because my team is not really fast and I need something which can easily eliminate tapu fini and tangrowth, this is why I have a flyinium Z.

images

Tapu Koko @ Magnet
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Taunt

There's not a lot to say about it. I took him because my team isn't really fast and because of his abilities to knock out the bulky water like tapu fini.

In the threats, we have most of the electric pokemon who knock hard such as tapu koko or magnezone and we have choice band zygarde who can have a KO or a 2HKO witch thousand arrows

Conclusion: This team is really enjoyable to play. It is not really fast but we can still manage very well.

Great team Jin I have seen it in action, really fun to have psychic terrain+sharpedo vs njnp webs. Solid defensive core+ offensive core, nothing can really cteam this imo. Keep building around cool mons bro :)

If tapu koko becomes too annoying for your team, you might consider using roost koko > taunt so as to use your own koko as a pivot against opposing ones. That's all I have to say^^

Hi, esteemed Jinover! Sorry for the very late rating lol, I came across this team in search of ideas for building around sharpedo, a sleeper threat in OU, and I really like this team on paper! However, electric types seem like a massive pain as you pointed out, especially when koko is a frail resist and lando drops to the beam in boltbeam coverage. I know this suggestion may seem very niche at first, but to remedy this electric problem while keeping the feel of the team intact... have you considered dragalge > toxapex ?

dragalge.gif

Dragalge @ Black Sludge
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Sludge Wave
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald / Dragon Tail

Dragalge has really good special bulk and can check the likes of zard y, volcarona, keldeo, nihilego while also setting tspikes, or phaze out most setup with dragon tail, all of which toxapex currently does. However, dragalge's immense special bulk and typing also lets it come in on fast electrics comfortably, and is hardly "weak" to hp ice. Here are some relevant calcs:

vs tapu koko
252 SpA Magnet Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge in Electric Terrain: 67-79 (20.1 - 23.7%) -- possible 6HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Tapu Koko Hidden Power Ice vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge: 68-80 (20.4 - 24%) -- possible 6HKO after Black Sludge recovery

vs manectric-m
252 SpA Manectric-Mega Hidden Power Ice vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge: 86-102 (25.8 - 30.6%) -- 1.6% chance to 4HKO after Black Sludge recovery

vs zard-y
252 SpA Charizard-Mega-Y Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge in Sun: 97-115 (29.1 - 34.5%) -- 99.9% chance to 4HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Charizard-Mega-Y Hidden Power Ice vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge: 96-114 (28.8 - 34.2%) -- 99.5% chance to 4HKO after Black Sludge recovery

vs volcarona
+1 252 SpA Volcarona Inferno Overdrive (185 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge: 144-171 (43.2 - 51.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery
+1 252 SpA Volcarona Hidden Power Ground/Ice vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge: 126-150 (37.8 - 45%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery

vs nihilego
252 SpA Nihilego Power Gem vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge: 81-96 (24.3 - 28.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Nihilego Hidden Power Ground/Ice vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Dragalge: 80-96 (24 - 28.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Black Sludge recovery

This doesn't address your banded zygarde problem and perhaps brings in opposing magearna. However between koko, specs lele, and offensive lando-t, I think you can handle these threats well or force opposing teammates to stomach powerful hits, clearing a way for sharpedo. You also pass up reliable recovery that toxapex has, but this team is already very offensive in nature and toxapex doesn't need to survive the whole game to pave a sweep for sharpedo. Dragalge allows you to have some offensive presence while still giving enough bulk and providing key resistances for enough time throughout the game.

TL;DR: dragalge passes up consistent recovery and worsens magearna mu, but significantly increases electric mu while providing some offensive presence and doing what pex does, and the team can handle magearna anyway.

Yeah I like that because the mu against electric type is really complicated. I will test.
