Shared Power Council has decided to suspect test Kyogre after the survey results!
Last year the banlist was reset, allowing multiple of the "classic" bans roam free, we have been slowly redefining the powerlevel ever since.
Kyogre is a powerful Pokémon, with 150 SpA and strong STAB moves like Origin Pulse and Water Spout further booster by its own ability, Drizzle, on top of any other possible boosts it may gain from team mates, like Adaptability and Mega Launcher, allow it to destroy even resists in this post Ice Scales restriction format. It also counts with respectable bulk of 100/90/140, making it hard to OHKO with unboosted attacks, and thanks to synergy with Rain Dish/Dry Skin and Hydratation it can become quite difficult to take down. And while its speed is only average at 90, it can boost it with Electric Surge+Quark Drive and/or Choice Scarf to become rather difficult to revenge kill.
But there are things holding it down, abilities like Dry Skin and Water Absorb can completely shut down it, as it no longer gets to do its job as a wall breaker, Drought meanwhile can do the same to a lesser degree, as it heavily limits its power, entering a weather war where it really up to its team mates to keep up during the game as Kyogre can't do much to Dragon and Grass types under the sun while being forced to take hazard damage each time it switches out to reset the weather. It also has problems with some defensive builds, as its main stabs don't have much PP and can be pressured out by the likes of Giratina, specially with the help of Vessel of Ruin.
Requirements:
Requirements can be achieved by getting minimum 75 GXE in 25 games on the Shared Power ladder. In order to participate in the suspect, you must create a fresh alt (creation date no earlier than 29/04/2024) with the prefix SPKYO at the start of the name. When you have obtained the reqs, make sure to post proof of your alt's record (generally a screenshot) in this thread, and if you wish to do so, you can also share your thoughts on the test here.
Voting:
Once the suspect period is over, everyone who has obtained reqs will be tagged. The post will then outline a process of blind voting, which will be clarified once the time arrives. For now, follow the above "Requirements" subheading to ensure that you have posted your reqs correctly. You must post on this thread in order to be tagged in the voting thread, however you do not need to include your vote on this thread.
A super-majority of 60% ban votes is required for Kyogre to be banned.
TL;DR
- Kyogre will be allowed on ladder
- The minimum GXE requirement is 75 and the minimum game count is 25
- You must ladder on a newly-created alt using the prefix SPKYO
- You must post your reqs in this thread, though the voting process will happen in a separate thread. You are not required to state your vote in this thread.
- The suspect test will conclude at 13/05/2024 at 11:59 PM GMT-4
- A ban vote of 60% is required to ban Kyogre in Shared Power.
