SM OU Serperior offensive team

Hello,

This is my first real SM OU team (made some quick teams just to try the meta). This is an team made around Serperior. I have tested this team, in the testing face I tested many different pokemon. I like the pokemon that i have in the team now but are open to changes if someone has an good suggestion.

This is an Offensive Team so every pokemon needs to be able to hit hard so i dont lose much pressure. Slow volt-switch / U-turn helps creating momentum so i can have the right pokemon in at the right time without taking to much damage on key pokemons. This team is build to have multiple ways of dealing with the serperior counters.

Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 8 HP / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dragon Pulse
- Taunt
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Serperior is the pokemon i decided to build an team arround. Serperior is the sweeper of the team. Contrary Leaf storms boosts the special attack of serperior, Leaf storm should be used as much as possible. Dragon pulce and HP fire are the cover moves and after some special attack buffs they can take out dragon, gras, bug and steel types that resist Leaf storm. Taunt gives Serperior the ability to stalbreak more effectively.

tapulele.gif

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Serperior is fast but there are still some pokemon in the OU tear that are faster like greninja and pheromosa. Choice Scarf Tapu Lele could take those pokemon out before they get an attack of. Psychic terain also counters priority moves that would revenge kill normal choice scarf users. Psychic and moonblast are both strong stab moves that hit hard. Focus Blast and HP fire are for coverage against steel types.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 24 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Defensive Landorus Therian fits this team really nice. It is an defensive pivot that sets up stealth rocks and has some offensive pressure. Stealth rocks are really important to weaken the opposing team enough that the fast pokemon on the team can get the KOs. Earthquake and Stone Edge still hit decently strong with the immense base attack that Landorus-T has. The slow U-turn can get the faster offensive pokemon in the team safely in battle.

magearna.gif

Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fleur Cannon
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Aura Sphere

Magearna is the second pivot of the team, she really works well with Landorus-T as an defensive core. Magearna takes special hits like an champ while still doing some good damage. Fleur Cannon can be used to do an lot of damage to an enemy mon or switch in. Flash cannon is an more reliable stab move that does not lower your own special attack. Aura sphere is for coverage. Volt switch is an great move that lets other pokemons get in to battle safely.

marowak-alola.gif

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Bone
- Fire Punch
- Bonemerang
- Flame Charge

Marowak-Alola is an good physical wall breaker that hits really hard. Marowak-Alola has an good typing that fits the team well. With strong fire and ground moves it takes down the steeltypes that trouble the rest of this team. It also can deal with an +1 speed Pheromosa. Shadow Bone and Fire Punch are good stabs that hit hard. Bonemerang is an coverage move that let Marowak-Alola hit all steal-types in the tier super effectively. Flame charge is an good way to increase Marowak speed while still doing some damage. An Flame charge in to another move is sometimes enough to KO opponents that otherwise 2HKO Marowak-Alola.

starmie.gif

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Rapid Spin

With volt switch and U-turn this team switches often so it needs an rapid spinner or defogger. I decided to use Starmie. Starmie is an rapid spinner that still hits hard and fast so you dont lose pressure. Starmie also has synergie with Tapu Lele's Psychic terrain. Hydro Pump is an strong water stab move that hits hard. Icebeam is coverage for grass, flying and dragon types. Psyshock is an strong move against special wals, especially if psychic terain is up.

Thanks for reading this rmt and i am looking forward to read your opinions on this team.

Hey, cool team! I have 1 complex, and one more simple change that I think will improve your team.
First The complex variation. I noticed that your team is really weak to mega meta, and you don't have anything to reliably revenge kill it. I would put doublade over marowak, as it gives you a perfect answer to metagross, pheromosa and pinsir as well as also checking variants of magearna. If you would make this change, then I suggest making serperior a bulky set with leech seed over dragon pulse, to better deal with koko and stall. I would also either put hp fire over psyshock on starmie, or change starmie to protein greninija/hp fire koko if you get rid of marowak. Roost/hp fire koko helps with ferro and celesteela, while gren would check heatran. Your team is also weak to lando/zyarde, so I would put hp ice over stone edge on lando, as doublade checks pinsir for you. I would also put scarf nihilego over lele, to check zaed-y and volc.

The simple solution is to put a bulky volcarona over marowak. This checks metagross, mawile and pheromosa. If you do this then I would put hp ground over hp fire on serperior to lure in heatran. I would also put hp ice on lando over stone edge, and change lele to nihiligo.

Thanks for your response, I am definitly going to test your sugestions because all of them make sense. I will try the more defencive oriented serperior with substitude, leech seed, leaf storm and hp fire that set is really good against stall and I agree that i am struggeling to win against stall at the moment. I also really like the idea of choice scarf Nihelgo, i dont know the new SM OU metagame that well so i didnt thought of it myself but it really make sence. I will try al the other sugestions you have. I will post my experiences with the testing over an few days (i dont have much time to play showdown and test thist team), I will also post the new team that i think works best.
