SD Haxorus outrage

TeamBuilding Process
I think you can tell based off of my previous RMTs that I like Haxorus alot as a mon, the only problem is that its hard to make work with its meh speed and bad bulk. It also is reliant on setting up to have the nuclear power it's known for. This team is more so built around using haxorus as an early-mid game wallbreaker against teams to open up hydreigon in the late game.

Originally I started off with :haxorus: + :magnezone: and built the team to include :tapu lele: :zapdos: :Landorus-therian:. The main weakness with this set of mons was its weavile weakness with zone kinda just being a wasted slot as Haxorus doesn't need zone to break through the metal birds thanks to cc. Evetually someone suggested to replace zone with :hydreigon: and add colbur berry :slowbro: to lure weavile. Hydreigon acts as a setup sweeper who appreciates fairies like clef being gone, something haxorus specializes in.

Team Breakdown
-Offensive Core
:Haxorus: + :Hydreigon:
These two work well together as they hit each other's checks on different offensive sides. Haxorus works best against stall teams with its nuclear power and ability to break through unaware clef thanks to poison jab. Hydreigon also brings defensive utility to the team with its ghost, dark, and fire resists on top of its longevity with roost.

-Defensive Core
:Landorus-Therian: + :Slowbro: + :zapdos:
Lando is my go to special sponge on most of these kinds of teams, while slowbro acts as a lure to weavile as well as helping to wall many physical threats like hawlucha. Zapdos helps punish physical attackers like urshifu and melmetal with paralysis, which is very helpful with the low speed tiers of the team.

-Speed Control
:Tapu lele: + :Zapdos:
Scarf lele is a go to scarfer for me as it brings both power and speed, as well as denying priority with its terrain. Zapdos, while slow on its own, is amazing at spreading paralysis throughtout opposing teams with both its combination of static and discharge. This team really appreciates paralysis with the slower nature of its offensive mons.

Gilgamesh (Haxorus) @ Muscle Band
Ability: Mold Breaker
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Scale Shot
- Close Combat
- Poison Jab
This is the standard Haxorus set. Muscle band is used to guarantee the ohko on clef without LO's chip damage and still give every attack a boost, not just super effective ones. Other items that could work include life orb and yache berry as haxorus doesnt outspeed weavile without a +1. The main issue I've had with sd scale shot mons in general is my atrocious luck with scale shot. It almost always either misses or just hits 2 times. As scale shot can let haxorus sweep opposing teams, especially since it isn't taking LO chip.

Shield (Tapu Lele) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
Typical scarf lele, modest is used to have a high chance of getting the 2hko on blissey, but timid could work for better speed control. Psychic and moonblast for main stabs, psyshock to hit targets like blissey, and focus blast to hit steels on the switch.

Clout lion (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 22 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
Typical spdef lando, 22 speed ivs to help underspeed opposing landos. Knock off over toxic as its more valuable for the team to be able to paralyze threats with zapdos than to poison them, as well it being valuable to get rid of opposing items.

Oblivion (Hydreigon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
Hydreigon brings valuable defensive utility with its dark and ghost resists, as well longevity with roost. Appreciate's haxorus getting rid of clef and other fairies so it can use its powerful dark pulse and draco meteors without worry. Nasty plot lets it nuke with its draco meteor or just boost its dark pulse.

Behemoth (Slowbro) @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Teleport
- Body Press
- Scald
- Slack Off
Slowbro acts as a potent weavile lure as well as all around physical sponge for attacks with good recovery in slack off + Regenerator scald lets bro fish for burns and deal reliable damage. Teleport lets bro act as a pivot that can bring in haxorus or hydreigon. I'm contemplating future sight or something like ice beam over scald as the team prefers opponents to be slower rather than burned.

Stormy (Zapdos) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 40 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Defog
- Roost
- Heat Wave
Zapdos acts as a second physical wall as well as speed control with spreading paralysis. Defog lets zapdos act as the hazard removal for the team, and heatwave keeps pesky ferrothorns at bay. Typical ev spread but with bold over timid to better absorb attacks.

Threats
:weavile:
If your opponent predicts bro as the weavile lure than this mon becomes a major threat as it hits 5 out of the 6 members super effectively with its stabs.

:dragapult:
Our ghost resist being weak to dragon isn't the best and means that with some prediction pult becomes a major threat with shadow ball spam.

:Volcarona:
If this thing has the right coverage and sets up it becomes almost impossible to stop, you have to keep a lot of offensive pressure against it with Haxorus and Hydreigon.

I decided to make a couple changes to my team based off of suggestion from others.

First off, for a more major change, I switched :zapdos: for :buzzwole:

Banner (Buzzwole) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Beast Boost
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Roost

This mon helps the team with its weakness to weavile, opening up slowbro to act a future port pivot to help break through stuff like pex. This ev spread gives buzzwhole max attack investment with some bulk and some speed(don't remember what they do).

Next off I changed out haxorus's outrage for scale shot, and muscle band for expert belt. These changes make haxorus a more effective sweeper since it can run jolly while still ohkoing clef.

Finally I changed out colour+bpress for hdb and future sight since buzz helps with this team's weavile weakness

Here is the new pokepaste, have a good day.
