[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 8

**Price Range**: 1-2 Points

**Overview**: Scovillain's decent mixed attacking stats and excellent Speed tier with Chlorophyll allow it to serve as an excellent cheap offensive tool to spice up sun-based drafts. Scovillain can be a decent setup sweeper, a solid late-game cleaner, or an effective wallbreaker. However, due to Scovillain's frailty and extreme reliance on sun, it can be hard to use without proper support. Additionally, its coverage options are nonexistent, as Scovillain struggles to break through Fire- and Dragon-types even with a supporting cast.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Setup Sweeper:** With Growth and sun support, Scovillain becomes an excellent although fragile sweeper. With its mixed attacks, it can easily be a physical or special sweeper depending on team needs.

**Wallbreaker:** Paired with a Life Orb or Choice Specs, Scovillain can heavily damage walls with Solar Beam and a sun-boosted Overheat.

Common Moves
========

**Primary STAB Moves**: Fire Blast, Overheat, Flamethrower, Temper Flare, Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Solar Beam, Seed Bomb, Leaf Storm, Bullet Seed

**Setup Moves**: Growth, Trailblaze

**Utility Moves**: Will-O-Wisp, Leech Seed, Substitute

**Coverage**: Stomping Tantrum, Crunch, Tera Blast

Niche Moves
========
**Endeavor**: Endeavor pairs well with Focus Sash sets, allowing Scovillain to deal a massive amount of damage to Pokemon that would otherwise take minimal damage from its STAB moves.

**Super Fang**: Similar to Endeavor, Super Fang allows Scovillain to deal a huge chunk of damage to walls it otherwise can’t dent effectively.

Common Items
========
**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots prevents Scovillain from being chipped by entry hazards, allowing it to setup easier or simply dish out damage and switch without being worn down.

**Choice Specs**: Choice Specs allows Scovillain to serve as an excellent wallbreaker with a devastating Solar Beam and a sun-boosted Overheat.

**Life Orb**: Life Orb provides benefits similar to Choice Specs's but allows Scovillain to wallbreak without the item lock. Due to Scovillain's frailty, it doesn’t mind the chip damage too much.

Niche Items
========
**Focus Sash**: Focus Sash provides Scovillain an essential free turn to set up Growth.

**Charcoal**: Charcoal can allow Scovillain to bluff Choice Specs and still deal devastating damage with its Fire-type STAB moves without Life Orb chip damage.

**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack can allow Scovillain to serve as a pivot in a momentum-heavy playstyle after attacking with Leaf Storm or Overheat.

Tera
========
Scovillain is an effective secondary user of Terastallization if your budget allows for it. Tera Fire skyrockets the damage from its Fire-type STAB moves. Tera Grass can be used to boost Giga Drain, providing better longevity as a sweeper. In addition, it powers up Leaf Storm and Solar Beam. Tera Ground and Fairy give Scovillain crucial special coverage in Tera Blast, with Tera Ground also boosting Stomping Tantrum, allowing Scovillain to beat the bulky Fire- and Dragon-types that normally wall it.

Draft Strategy
========
Scovillain's mediocre stats make it a niche wallbreaker even on dedicated sun teams, and it should never be a team's only sun user. Instead, it serves as a complementary threat to sun-based teams that need a cheap but effective mixed attacker.

**Sun Setter**: Scovillain is not very threatening without Chlorophyll's Speed boost and sun-boosted Fire-type STAB moves. Therefore, Scovillain requires an ally that can set sun. Pokemon such as Torkoal and Ninetales are mandatory teammates.

**Entry Hazard Removal**: Scovillain's sets without Heavy-Duty Boots get crippled by hazards, with Focus Sash sets fairing the worst. Hazard removers such as Great Tusk and Iron Treads are necessary. Hatterene is also an excellent teammate thanks to Magic Bounce dissuading hazards.

**Complementary Sweepers**: Scovillain is not able to break entire defensive cores by itself, but it can pave the way for sweepers such as Chi-Yu, Raging Bolt, and Gouging Fire.

**Pivots**: Due to Scovillain's frailty, it needs free turns in order to set up or wallbreak. Pokemon such as Hatterene and Great Tusk can use Eject Button and Eject Pack respectively to serve as pivots. Flip Turn Walking Wake pairs nicely with Scovillain, and Healing Wish Ninetales can grant it a free switch in.

Checks and Counters
========

**Bulky Fire-types**: Due to its complete lack of coverage, bulky Fire-types such as Skeledirge and Heatran can be extremely difficult for Scovillain to break past. Choice Specs sets especially run into a wall against Heatran.

**Dragon-types**: As with Fire-types, Scovillain's bad coverage makes breaking past bulky Dragon-types near impossible without significant support.

**Priority**: Due to Scovillain's frailty, any form of priority backed by a decent offensive stat is extremely threatening to it.

**Entry Hazards**: If Scovillain is not using Heavy-Duty Boots, hazards make it hard for Scovillain to fulfill its niche. Hazards make Choice Specs sets much harder to use and completely invalidate Focus Sash sets.

**Focus Sash**: Focus Sash is an excellent choice for sweeper sets, as it provides Scovillain an essential free turn to set up Growth.

Tera
========
Scovillain should not be the first choice as a Tera Captain due to its frailty and coverage being sufficient for most cases. However, Scovillain is an effective user of Tera if needed your budget allows. Tera Fire skyrockets the damage from its Fire STAB moves. Tera Grass can be used to boost Giga Drain, providing better longevity as a sweeper. why are you allergic to mentioning Solar Beam Tera Ground gives Scovillain crucial special coverage in Tera Blast alongside a is also nice to boost Stomping Tantrum, allowing Scovillain to beat the bulky Fire-types that normally wall it.

Draft Strategy
========
Scovillain should not be the Pokemon a team is built around. i'm gonnna kms Scovillain's mediocre stats makes it a niche wallbreaker even on dedicated sun teams, and it should never be a team's only sun user. Instead, it serves as complementary threat to sun-based teams that need a cheap but effective mixed attacker.

**Sun-Setter**: Scovillain is not very threatening without a Chlorophyll speed boost and sun-boosted Fire STAB moves. Therefore, Scovillain requires an ally that can set sun. Pokemon such as Torkoal and Ninetales are excellent mandatory teammates.

**Entry-hazard removal**: Scovillain's sets without Heavy-Duty Boots get crippled by entry hazards, with Focus Sash sets fairing the worst. Entry hazard removers such as Great Tusk and Iron Treads are necessary. Hatterene is also an excellent teammate thanks to Magic Bounce dissuading hazards.

**Complementary Sweepers**: Scovillain is not able to break entire defensive cores by itself, but it can pave the way for sweepers such as. Pokemon that benefit from Scovillain wallbreaking or pave the way for it to sweep such as Chi-Yu, Raging Bolt, and Gouging Fire are appreciated. I wanna note here: I'm not the GP team, if you disagree with any of my grammatical or sentence-enhancing changes that's OK and you can implement them your own way, I'm just showin' ya how I would do it

**Pivots**: I can't say I play a lot of sun, but Scovillain is so frail that I can't help but imagine it'd need someone to get it in, like the dude doesn't even resist Fire. If they're a revenge killer and they come in when someone dies, maybe rewrite one of the Roles as Revenge Killer.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Fire Types**: Due to its complete lack of coverage, Bulky Fire types such as Skeledirge and Heatran can be extremely difficult for Scovillain to break past. Choice Specs sets especially run into a wall against Heatran.

**Priority**: Due to Scovillain's frailty, any form of priority backed by a decent offensive stat is extremely threatening to it.

**Entry Hazards**: Non-Heavy-Duty Boots sets quickly wear down Scovillain. what is the point of this first sentence. I mean really, ask yourself that It makes Choice Specs sets much harder to use and completely invalidates Focus Sash sets.

I don’t think specific examples are too important since Draft teams are very varied, but will add if needed. Otherwise, ready for upload!
