Hi all! I have another team which I need help to fix a few things. As the title of this thread suggests, this RMT is based around Choice Scarf Garchomp. Garchomp is an already powerful pokemon and could probably sweep the whole other team by itself but all good pokemon need a team.

garchomp-2.gif

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Rough Skin - Jolly nature - 252 atk, 252 spd, 4 HP
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
Garchomp is one of the most powerful dragon types in OU, boasting 130 attack. The only thing that may let this pokemon down is its 108 speed stat that although isn't bad, other pokemon are faster e.g. Greninja. Choice Scarf allows Garchomp to outspeed these pokemon (If they aren't scarved themselves) and can get on with what it loves doing best. Outrage is Garchomp's most powerful dragon type stab but if Dragon Claw is there so that it isn't stuck in to Outrage and is free to switch out if it needs a dragon type move.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Huge Power - Adamant nature - 252 atk, 252 HP, 4 def
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
Garchomp needed a Fairy, Ice and Dragon counter and here it is! The beast of all mega evolutions (in OU) Mega Mawile! With a Swords Dance boost and some good predicting, Mawile can get you out of most situations (unless it involves Ferrothorn. Mawile hates Ferrothorn). Iron Head is there to bring down those Fairy and Ice pokemon and Play Rough for the Dragons. Sucker Punch holds priority which Mawile needs (since it has bad speed) and Swords Dance to power up it's moves even further.

Volcarona_XY.gif

Volcarona @ Life Orb
Swarm - Modest nature - 252 sp. atk, 252 spd, 4 HP
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Hurricane
Arguably the best quiver dancer, give it for Volcarona! With one quiver dance, Volcarona is set for sweeping. Fiery Dance is a way to get even more boosts, Bug buzz to attack pokemon behind substitutes and Hurricane for a powerful final move.

Recent additions:

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Iron Barbs - Relaxed Nature - 252 HP/ 48 def / 208 sp. def
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Overcoat - Impish Nature - 248 HP/ 252 def / 8 spd
- Whirlwind
- Foul Play
- Defog
- Roost

Greninja @ Expert Belt
Protean - Timid Nature - 252 sp. atk / 252 spd / 4 HP
- Extrasensory
- Scald
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
Old Members of the team (may they be in the hall of fame for eternity)
Zapdos_XY.gif

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Pressure - Bold nature - 252 HP, 252 def, 4 spd
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder wave
- Roost
- Protect
Zapdos is my teams wall. Although it may have a small (reasonably large actually) stealth rock weakness, Zapdos is a bulky pokemon that can take two hits from a Flare Blitz from Talonflame.

mamoswine-gif.9462

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Thick Fat - Adamant nature - 252 atk, 252 spd, 4 HP
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock
Even though Mamoswine is a suicide lead, it can still wreak havoc with it's terrifying attack stat. Mamoswine is not as frail as Smeargle either and can take a few hits, making sure it has set up rocks and done decent damage to the opponent before being taken down.
73.png

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Clear Body - Timid Nature - 252 spd, 252 HP, 4 sp. atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Toxic
Tentacruel is my teams much needed rapid spinner. It can take a hit and then go on to removing the hazards or crippling the opponent with either a burn or poison.

So how is my team? Please Comment, like and sub... no wait thats youtube. Thanks folks :)

I would suggest changing the zapdos set with the following, change thunder wave to heat wave, it will help a lot withe things like scizor, ferrothorn, and bisharp. Also you could use defog over protect and replace tentacruel with a Pokemon that is more useful for your team. Hope this helps:)

Hey Thundershock1234, nice team you have here.

I agree with acam333 suggestions, however, I want to expand upon with a few of my own:

1. Suicide Leads: I'm personally not a fan of it as your almost playing with a handicap automatically. If you want Stealth Rocks, why not use Ferrothorn? (see set below) His Bulk is monstrous and has an amazing support movepool, with his two weaknesses, Fire and Fighting, being mitigated with the assistance of the rest of the team. (More on this later)

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
EV: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Ability: Iron Barbs
Relaxed Nature
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Power Whip
- Thunder Wave

2. Volcarona: Flame Body is the superior ability, so Swarm needs to go, but also, your team seems to still be a bit fraile. Here's what I would suggest for Volcarona:

Volcarona @ Leftovers
EV: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe
Ability: Flame Body
Timid Nature
IV: 0 Atk
- Bug Buzz
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Roost

This set makes Volcarona bulkier and still has the power to sweep through a team, as you mentioned Quiver Dance is one of THE BEST boosting moves in the game!!! Roost also gives her more longevity rto to what she needs to do. Especially if your in on a Special Attacker who can't break through.

3. Defensive Core: Lastly to elaborate further on acam333's suggestion, I present the following:

Zapdos @ Leftovers
EV: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Ability: Pressure
Bold Nature
IV: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Defog
- Heat Wave

&

Suicune @ Leftovers
EV: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 SpA
Ability: Pressure
Calm Nature
IV: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Rest
- Calm Mind
- Sleep Talk

With these sets, you now have reliable Hazard removal, and as acam333 said, Heat Wave is for Bisharp who try to switch in on Defog to get the free +2, and you have a dedicated Special Defense wall in Suicune, whose weaknesses are covered by Zapdos. They are alot of other mons that go well with Zapdos, so if Suicune doesn't float you boat let me know and we will get you another partner. ^_^

Hope this helps. Let me know what you think?

Thanks so much for the advice! Ferrothorn works really well with the team on showdown and so does Suicune. Just wondering how I would go about getting defog on my zapdos on pokemon y or which pokemon would be a better defensive defogger then Zapdos on the games. Anyways thank you!

The only way to put Defog on Zapdos in-game would be through Generation 4 and then transfering. If you need a viable Defogger that you can get in game I would suggest Mandibuzz with this spread and moveset.

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
EV: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Ability: Overcoat
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Defog
- Whirlwind

Yea, I agree 100% with this assessment. The best in game defogger without having to jump through to many hoops would be Defensive Mandibuzz. You definitely need Whirlwind, otherwise Bisharp will SD in your face and Iron Head you FTW.

If not him, the next best choice is probably Crobat since he's fast as hell, Sucker Punch won't work either as Defog is a non-attacking move, but then Bisharp gets a free SD Boost and will most likely KO you with Knock Off. Those are the breaks though. "_"

As mentioned by Rafael, if Bisharp is around be wary of how you use Defog. The last thing you want is Bisharp to gain a +2 boost. Once they're out of commission then you can safely Defog.

I was thinking about using a Mega Charizard Y instead of Volcarona, Florges instead of Mega Mawile and Greninja instead of Suicune. I've been using this team on showdown but I wanted to hear what you all thought about the team (Garchomp, Ferrothorn and Mandibuzz stay)
Greninja's Moveset
Protean - 252 sp. atk/ 252 spd / 4 HP
Timid nature @ Life Orb
- Scald
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
Your standard Greninja set. Greninja is quite possibly the best starter pokemon ever due to it's amazing HA Protean. As you are all aware of what protean does I will go on to explain the moveset. I use Scald over Surf or Hydro Pump for the possiblility of a burn occuring. Dark Pulse, Grass Knot and Ice beam are the final moveslots, essential for coverage.
Charizard's Moveset
Drought - 252 sp. atk / 252 spd / 4 HP
Timid nature @ Charizardite Y
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost
Yet again your original Charizard Y set. Fire Blast has a 70% accuracy and I really cannot afford Charizard to miss seeing as it's my mega pokemon so that's why I use Flamethrower. Flamethrower's damage does more under the sun anyway. Solar Beam also makes use of Charizard's amazing ability as it doesn't have to wait a turn to use it. Roost is needed for recovery leaving one slot free. Most people use Air Slash but since I have no fighting move, I decided Charizard would do better with Focus Blast
Florges's Moveset
Flower Veil - 252 HP/ 252 def / 4 sp. def
Bold nature Leftovers
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Aromatherapy
Most of my team doesn't have my recovery so I think a wish passer would be perfect. Florges is fairy so it can take dragon type hits for Garchomp now Mawile is gone. Moonblast is for stab and Protect so Florges can heal itself. Finally I had a toss up between Toxic or Aromatherapy so I picked Aromatherapy in case Garchomp gets burnt.
So what do you think of the changes? I now have an equal amount of physical and special attackers and have some good threats added to my team.
