When equipped with a Choice Scarf, Hisuian Decidueye is one of PU's most threatening physical attackers and cleaners thanks to its unique traits of good STAB combination, an incredibly spammable STAB move in Triple Arrows, and a great ability in Scrappy. U-turn allows Hisuian Decidueye to pivot out of awkward matchups such as Florges and Altaria, while Leaf Blade is a useful alternative STAB move that allows Hisuian Decidueye to target Pokemon like Rhydon and Bruxish. Brave Bird is useful to target Paldean Tauros-F and opposing Hisuian Decidueye, while Close Combat 2HKO's Rotom-H and OHKO's Brute Bonnett. Tera Fighting boosts the power of Triple Arrows and Close Combat to great levels, allowing Hisuian Decidueye to 2HKO Rhydon and Arcanine and OHKO Frosmoth and Dudunsparce with Triple Arrows.

While strong, Hisuian Decidueye can struggle to deal with a few threats that resist its STABs such as Altaria. Galarian Articuno, and Delphox, so checks to these threats such as Rotom-H and Goodra are good partners to have. Even with a Choice Scarf, some threats such as Whimsicott, Salazzle, and Floatzel still outspeed and easily revenge kill it, so having switchins to these threats such as Coalossal and Bellibolt are useful to have. Hisuian Decidueye's ability to wear down common switchins to it such as Bellibolt and Mudsdale can help enable partners also checked by these walls, such as Bruxish, Grimmsnarl, and Ambipom. Hisuian Decidueye can oftentimes have difficulty to get onto the battlefield safely due to its poor defensive typing, so slower pivots such as Bellibolt, Uxie, and Frosmoth can help bring it in safely while also forming a strong VoltTurn combo with Hisuian Decidueye.

Tera Fighting boost's boosts the power of Triple Arrows (and close combat) to great levels, allowing Hisuian Decidueye to 2HKO Rhydon and Arcanine and OHKO Frosmoth and Dudunsparce (with what move?).
