Salamence is compatible with these Technical Machines in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet:

Base Stats:
HP:95
Atk:135
Def:80
Sp.Atk:110
Sp.def:80
Speed:100

Pros:

This Pokemon has Some really gigantic coverage, it can hit almost anything and it has 2 of the best abilities in the game, Intimidate And Moxie, This Pokemon can fit in a lot of playstyles Like Stall, HO (Hyper Offense) , Balance , And can even support it's teammates as a Tailwinder, and a passive damage dealer, it can be a sweeper too, just Almost anything you can try, im gonna have a blast writing this thing's terastalizing Potential haha.
Cons:
This Pokemon is a bit frail with it's defenses, even if it's great HP stat covers that, With dynamax and z-moves gone, it got a bit weaker, it cant throw out Z-Flys or Max Airstreams, To boost it's speed while also attacking , or deal Massive Damage with a 165 Base Power Z-Move , It's Typing is also worth talking about but Terastalizing kind of just Eliminates the need to, But without Tera it can just die to High BP Moves and Strong Fairy / Ice / Dragon Attackers specially that sets that run HP investments and very Niche And Uncommon in this meta.
Terastal Potential:
.... Okay now this Pokemon is very underrated , With Tera Types it can run a lot of shit, The most obvious tera type being steel, Resists ice fairy and dragon easily, and stab iron head kind of hits hard, it can also Terastalize into a Fire type to throw off powerful choice specs fire blasts with a sun protosynthesis Based team, With tera it serves a lot of great roles as a supporting , sweeper, balanced attacker, all out attacker, EVEN MIXED!!! yes you heard me right, so TLDR; Terastalize, tank , throw off a stab attack.

Salamence @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Fairy / Ghost / Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane / Tera Blast
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Roost
Full Spe/SpA investment with HDB or Specs can also be decent for being a Intimidator who can drop Draco, but that’s not something I have tried yet, so I can’t really attest for it. This set though, is something I unironically added to my one of me teams because it fitted a very specific niche.

All things considered, Mence bulk is really decent especially when you can afford to use your Tera on him. Nite can kinda pull off a similar set but Intimidate can be really good for specific teams. The slightly better SpA and much better Spe also helps a lot in beating things like Dondozo and Great Tusk respectively.

No way of sugarcoating it, Mence is facing really heavy competition this gen, but he is technically one of the best defensive Intimidators we have currently, if your team needs one.
-escarlata, Huge thanks to them

Sets: This boutta be alot ready up!
Note: When pokemon home Compatibility is available it will be a valid wish passer too :D
Have a nice day!! :D

Ngl, I won’t claim to have tried DD Mence too extensively, but it’s certainly facing stiff competition with Dragonite and perhaps even Gyarados.

On the other hand, PDef is something that I have been fitting on teams as the only Intimidate user with reliable recovery.

This fully defensive spread though, is something I unironically added to my one of me teams because it fitted a very specific niche.

wow honestly i did not take this into consideration, ill put this into the thread if you don't mind of course :D, thx for telling me.

Here’s a really fun set
Salamence @ Choice Band
Ability: Moxie
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw/Outrage
- Dual Wingbeat
- Earthquake
- Iron Head

This is a wallbreaker. It crushes most Pokémon and can even "sweep” with Moxie. While it is quite successful, I’m gonna be honest, in the games I won I did not use it much.

Still looks like a nice ace up the sleeve though. If nothing else it is a threat.
I recently picked up a Steel Tera Type of this Salamence, How well would that type swap work in your opinion? Worth the risk?

Salamence @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
Tera Type: Dragon/Flying
EVs: 252 Atk/6 Def/252 Spe
Naughty/Naive Nature
-Outrage
-Dual Wingbeat
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast

I have been using Scarf mence and a lot of players don't expect it. It is pretty easy to pick up a KO and then proceed to steamroll the opponent. Terastylizing it really helps boost its power enough to snowball. I pair it with Magnezone or otherwise it's effectiveness is hampered a bit.
