Okay, this has been bothering me for quite some time now...Mod, if there does happen to be another discussion like this, please feel free to delete this, but, I have to say this. It's been on my mind for way too long.
Okay, I've been reading around Wikimoon trying to find out the actual reason why they wouldn't air Sailor Stars. From what I've read, there seems to be a reason that is in common with most theories.
It seemed that Toei was either wanted too much money to air Sailor Moon, for one. That, in all honesty, I think is a load of crap. Toei was being exceptionally greedy...
The other reason seemed to be that they didn't want to hurt Sailor Moon's 'family friendly' image. Hello? These are teenage girls were talking about here. I don't honestly think this was made with little kids in mind. Heck, an example right here: They aired all of the fighting with Dragon Ball Z on Toonami. And Sailor moon can't have the decent fighting scenes? Scenes of death? There was also the contrivercy of Haruka (Amara) and Michiru (Michelle)'s lesbian relationship. Kids are going to be exposed to it one way or another, these people have to realize it.
Then there is the gender changing Sailor Starlights. This, I have no clue what's wrong with. They disguise themselves as guys...even if it is dressing in drag, there still isn't too much wrong with it! They change genders...so what?
Then there is the nudity of the very last episode...this, I can sort of understand. But, there is also a simple explanation for this too. Airing Sailor Moon on adult swim. Heck, they did it with Bleach, Deathnote, Code Geass, and other animes...why not Sailor Stars?
I know I'm only fourteen, and suck at presenting a decent case...but, you have to admit, it is kinda weird to air four of the five seasons of Sailor Moon, and not air the fifth. From what I saw, they translated the manag of Sailor Stars to english. Why not the anime? What is there in losing?
Thank you, if you did listen, for listening. Any opinions would be nice...but, please, no trolling.
