[SET COMMENTS]
Kids, kids, we have Tapu Fini at home. Primarina leverages its fantastic Water/Fairy typing, fantastic special bulk, and useable physical bulk to be an excellent slow pivot as well as a blanket check to powerful attackers like Chien-Pao, Roaring Moon, and Gholdengo. Primarina's fantastic typing helps to make up for it's only decent physical bulk, letting it switch in to powerful attackers like Zamazenta, Great Tusk, and Roaring Moon once and heal off the damage with Regenerator, while an Assault Vest boosts its excellent special bulk even further, allowing it to scout foes like Deoxys-S, Latios, and opposing offensive Primarina. Psychic Noise, on top of denying recovery from foes like Corviknight, Gholdengo, and Empoleon, threatens would-be counter Iron Moth while also annoying Moltres. In the final moveslot, Energy Ball provides a powerful hit against Swampert, Manaphy, and opposing Primarina, but Surf is a powerful secondary STAB move and a hard smack again Iron Treads and Gholdengo. A fully physically invested EV spread allows Primarina to reap the most benefits possible from its valuable Fighting- and Dark-resists, checking threats like Zamazenta, Roaring Moon, and Chien-Pao.
Primarina is, much like other Water-type RegenVest users, a staple on balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its prowess as a slow pivot, able to tank a hit and bring frail but powerful wallbreakers like Deoxys-S, Cinderace, and Chien-Pao onto the field safely; in turn, these powerful threats are often able to outspeed and force out the wallbreakers that threaten Primarina such as Zapdos, Ogerpon-H, and Sandy Shocks. Primarina, while solidly bulky on both sides thanks to investment and Assault Vest, is still notoriously easy to threaten with powerful attackers like Meowscarada, Hadron Engine Latios, and Ogerpon-W, so it demands some additional bulky pivots such as Corviknight, Iron Treads, and Pecharunt. Pecharunt is a particularly good teammate, able to switch into powerful attackers like Ogerpon formes and Iron Hands, while Primarina can handle powerful Dark-types like Chien-Pao and especially Roaring Moon that trouble it. Corviknight and Iron Treads, alongside Great Tusk, are also great partners for the hazard removal they offer, as Primarina otherwise is worn down incredibly quickly by entry hazards. Primarina can struggle heavily against Desolate Land users like Moltres, Iron Moth, and Landorus that block it's pivoting with Flip Turn and force it out, making Primordial Sea users like Zapdos, Archaludon, or Ogerpon-W good teammates for their ability to switch into and force out the Desolate Land users.

Other Options
=============
Level 99 Primarina is an option to underspeed standard RegenVest Primarina and Swampert, guaranteeing a slower Flip Turn, but much like with other slow pivots, the cut to bulk and power is usually not a worthwhile tradeoff. RegenVest sets have some interesting options for the fourth moveslot; Icy Wind for speed control, Shadow Ball to hit Gholdengo slightly harder, and even Weather Ball to hit Desolate Land Heatran are all options, but these options are generally far too niche and not worth dropping Energy Ball or Surf for in the grand majority of cases. Regenerator Primarina can consider ditching the Assault Vest for an Eject Button to better check Ceruledge and to pivot out against Desolate Land users, but this set folds immediately to almost any special attacker, making it an unappealing use of the Regenerator slot. Primarina can run a powerful Sheer Force + Life Orb set on offensive teams with Moonblast, Sparkling Aria, Energy Ball, and either Psychic, Calm Mind, or Shadow Ball to act a potent wallbreaker, but this set is slow and often easy to take advantage of by foes like Moltres, Heatran, and Empoleon, making it quite hard to fit on teams. Likewise, Primarina can run a bulky Magic Guard + Life Orb set with Calm Mind and Draining Kiss to act as a bulky win condition while still checking threats like Roaring Moon, but this set is quite passive before boosts and lacks reliable recovery outside of the weak Draining Kiss. Primarina can also run a potent Calm Mind + Stored Power set with an ability such as Lighting Rod or Stamina to acquire additional boosts or Unaware to ignore opposing boosts, but this set faces direct competition from Manaphy as a Water-type Stored Power user.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Desolate Land Users**: Desolate Land users like Iron Moth and Moltres can easily switch into Primarina set and either block Flip Turn pivoting or absorb a not-very-effective Weather Ball, forcing Primarina out on the next turn.
**Grass-types**: Powerful Grass-types like Ogerpon-W, Ogerpon-H, and Meowscarada effortlessly force Primarina out and can use the threat of super effective damage to get a free U-turn.
**Entry Hazards**: Non-Magic Guard sets are worn down extremely quickly by Stealth Rock and Spikes, often knocking them into range of foes that it would otherwise check like Chien-Pao or Choice Band Roaring Moon.
