Rules:

Pokemon: 2v2
Format: Singles
DQ: 2 days
Items: None
Abilities: All
Switch: KO
5 Chills / 2 Recovers

Arena: ASB Tournament Arena

Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

It's fortunate for us that Celeste lacks Rain Dance, otherwise we'd be in pretty big trouble. It still has quite a few tricks up its sleeve, though, so let's be conservative and snatch the win!

ROUND ONE:

Welcome to Round 2 of the First CAP ASB Tournament! Today, we have Terrador14 and Engineer Pikachu battling to continue into Round 3, and hopefully win the grand przie, of one of the Johto Dogs! Let's get started with the battle!

Engineer Pikachu decided to send out Hyomu the Syclant, while Terrador sends out Celeste the Starmie. Celsete, being faster starts the battle by using its power to create a rock-hard gem! THe rock goes hurling at Hyomu, but his excellent Mountaineering skills allows him to simply dodge it. He replies by starting to buzz around, disturbing Celeste's brain. It starts to go crazy and eventually, the Syclant is kind enough to stop.

Now, to Protect itself from further attacks, Celeste sets up a Reflective screen, to weakne further assualts from Hyomu. Hyomu, continues to charge at the Starmie, and bites down on it, also driving Celeste nuts. It seems that Celeste simply hates bugs. However, the attack was weakened because of the Reflect, allowing Celeste to take a smaller hit.

Celeste once again creates a rock-hard gem especially for Syclant. The gleaming gem flies across the arena, and at the Syclant. This time, Syclant wa unable to dogde it, and it hit him right in the face. He retaliates by sucking out Celeste's blood, helaing himself in the process. Now that the round is over, let us take a look at some stats!

It seems that Syclant has a significant advantage over Starmie. Double the damage, and even one less energy used! It seems that this match might be over soon. Next round, Syclant will be able to finish off Starmie. Unless Starmie can retailate, it seems the match would then be given to Engineer Pikachu. Syclant would leave a big dent in Dragonite, although Multi Scale would be a pain in the ass. Stratagem's HP Ice might come in handy, finsihing the match.

ROUND TWO:

hello, and welcome back to this Tournament Battle between Syclant and Starmie! Today we will see who can pass Round 2, and possibly win one of the Johto Dogs!

Starmie starts of the battle by quickly setting up a Substitute, and hiding behind, hoping that the Substitute will take some damage for it. Syclant once again, starts buzzing and the sound almost shatters the Substitute, but it barely survived.

Starmie continues to hide behind the Substitute, and recovers some HP back after a tiring fight. However, Syclant realizes that the Substitute is a decoy, and sends 5 sharp Icicle Spears directly at it. The first one causes the Substitute to dissipate, and the rest slam into Starmie, puncturing the star.

Starmie gathers some water from the moat nearby, and uses it to slam into Sylcant with immense impact. The force soaks the Syclant, and he wants revenge. He starts buzzing extremely loud, trying to drive the Starmie crazy. The Stramie tries to cover its ears, but it has no hands! The Starmie is barely surviving the assaults from Sycalnt.

Now for some of the stats, it seems that Syclant will definitely take out Starmie next round, because of its low HP. Then Dragonite will be severely damaged, leaving it to be cleaned up by Strategem.

ROUND THREE:

In our exciting Tournament Match here, it seems like the first match-up is going to come to an end, leaving the remaining match to see if Terrador's Dragonite can make a come back!

Syclant quickly fires an shard of ice at the Starmie, hoping to take it down. However, Starmie protects itself, allowing it to survive one more time. Before fainting, Starmie lets lose one more Hydro Pump at Syclant, weakening it for its partner Dragonite. Syclant starts to buzz, and Starmie is KOed from Syclant's annoying voice!

Dragonite rushes at Syclant with Extremspeed, crashing into it, and causing it to ram into the wall. Syclant responds by sending multiple spears of ice at Dragonite, puncturing it repeatedly. The Dragonite takes much damage from the continuous icy assaults!

Dragonite once again, rams into the Syclant, KOing it! it seems like Dragonite was able to beat the weakened Syclant. How will it fare against Engineer Pikachu's next pokemon?

ROUND FIVE:

This match has come to an amazing finish, in a very close match-up, that involved lots of hax, and a executive decision.

One day before this battle began, Bide did twice as much damage as the damage received in the span of two turns. So, the more damage the pokemon takes, the more it deals back. Although it was a very easy to beat move, it was also a very deadly trap. Since the damage dealt was twice as much as the damage taken, one would want to take as much damage as possible before releasing the attack. The attack could save the life of a pokemon that was going to be taken down by several strong attacks.

When Engineer Pikachu decided to constantly attack Dragonite, with super effective Techinician boosted moves, Terrador decided to use Bide, and deal back the damage taken. He calculated that if Hidden Power crit, both attacks would do a total of 50 damage, causing Bide to KO. I ran the RNG, and Hidden Power crit! On IRC, I informed Terrador about his amazing luck, and he immediately began celebrating his win. I then remembered that the latest State of the Game had changed Bide to x1.75! However, I was unsure if those changes would apply to this battle. I could not ask Engineer Pikachu if the changes would apply to this battle, because he was partaking in the battle. So, I asked DarkSlay. While waiting for a reply, i decided to RNG Ancientpower. It did not crit, but it did manage to activate its effect, giving Stratagem +1 boosts. Finally, DarkSlay replied, and he said: "Considering that the battle thread was created AFTER the implementation, you would go with the new Bide." It was decided, Engineer Pikachu had won the match.

Terrador started raging at the Bide changes stupidity, while Engineer Pikachu celebrated his victory. However, apparently the hax gods were not done with this battle. They decided to give the last Hidden Power a critical hit, overkilling the Dragonite, and trolling everyone.

I honestly feel that this battle should've gone with the rules that the tournament started with, as that may have affected initial team selection. :/
