ROAR!!!

Introduction

This is a team I've been using lately and has been doing pretty good and is lots of fun to use. After I saw Bologo's team I wanted to abuse spikes and stealth rock too while causing switches. When building this team my goal was to set up spikes and stealth rock as soon as possibly, and phaze stuff out while causing spikes and stealth rock damage. I also wanted my team to have good synergy to help cause switches. But after a while I noticed this team had a few problems and was hoping you guys/girls could help me out. So without further adieu, I present to you my team...

s_froslass.png

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Ice Shard
- Destiny Bond

At first I needed something to set up spikes as soon as possibly and I was testing out smeargle, skarmory, forretress, glalie, and froslass leads and decided she fits in the best. Most leads try to set up stealth rock first and I get free spikes up, Then survive a hit thanks to focus sash and set up another layer of spikes. Then if I'm faster I destiny bond, or if I'm slower I use ice shard to remove focus sash. Usually does a pretty good job at setting up spikes, but if you think something does her role better, give me a reason and I'll try it out.

heatran-1.png

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP/16 SAtk/240 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Earth Power / WoW
- Substitute
- Roar
- Lava Plume

Ever since I saw this set I feel in love with it. I usually sub first to scout there switch in. Thanks to his amazing typing it will always cause switches, and works well with my other team members. If its a gyarados, salamence, or bulky water I roar it out while they usually dd or calm mind. Maybe i should try out WoW? Heatran is also my steel counter. I use lave plum over flamethrower because the 30% burn really helps.

fighting, water, and ground attacks go to latias.

swampert-1.png

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam

Swampert my favorite bulky water. Does a pretty good job at setting up stealth rock and is my dragon counter. Ice beam is for dragons and earthquake is for ttar. Roar is to prevent things from setting up. I love it when gyarados comes in and tries to set up just to get a roared away. Swamperty is pretty bulky and gets to switch in a lot while causing my opponent switches to a counter just to get roared away. Also my electric and rock resist.

grass attacks go to heatran or latias.

rotomheat.png

Rotom-h @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/200 Def/56 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Will-o-wisp
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Originally i had a machamp over rotom because it causes a lot of switches with dynamicpunch and was my second ttar and psychic and ghost counter. But I needed a fighting immunity and machamp counter. Also I needed a spin blocker because starmie started getting annoying. So I decided to add rotom. Rotom is also my gyarados counter which is another reason I decided to switch machamp for rotom. WoW is for steels. Thunderbolt for gyradose and other waters. Restalk to recover when health is low.

dark and ghost attacks go to heatran
latias.png

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 108 HP/252 Spd/148 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Roar

Latias is my infernape counter and other stuff. Roar to scount for her counters(scizor, ttar etc.)while causing entry hazard damage. Lets me counter other bulky calm minders. While they calm mind I calm mind with them then roar them away so I'm +2 or something. Also my only latias counter which is a little shaky. I have been thinking of giving her reflect over calm mind. opinions?

dark, ice, dragon, and ghost attacks go to heatran
suicune.png

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Roar
- Rest

Standered roar cune. Causes lots of switches and late game when all of its counters and everything is weakened sweeps after a calm mind or two. I don't need ice beam or hp electric because rotom and swampert kill dragons and bulky waters. She is also my lucario counter if shes at 80% or better.

Electric and grass attacks go to latias

So theirs the team. A few things that have been giving me problems are Lucario, Latias, and Togekiss. I appreciate any comments or criticism. I'll edit it with a threat list as soon as I wake up.

Threat List

Green= no problem
Purple=can be a problem
Red=a huge problem

Aerodactyle- Most are leads and are 2HKO by ice shard so if they taunt first they dont set up stealth rock. Also swampert, rotom, latias, and suicune

Azelf- Froslass sets up spikes then switch to heatran then rotom to absorb the explosion

Blissey- Blissey is annoying =/ but it depends on her move set or suicune.

Breloom- rotom,latias

Bronzong- rotom,heatran

Celebi- heatran and suicune if it has a calm mind or two

Cresselia- suicune, latias set up on it

Dragonite- ice beam does around 50% if it roost so it can just dd and roost but i usually get a crit or freeze or roar it out

Empoleon- suicune,latias

Flygon- swampert,rotom,suicune

forretress- heatran,suicune

Gengar- heatran but it takes around 47% from focus blast

Gliscor- swampert,suicune,rotom,latias,

Gyardos- rotom cant really set up though

Heatran- suicune and latias sets up on it, and swampert

Heracross- rotom,swampert

Hippowdon- suicune,latias,swamert,rotom

Infernape- latias,suicune

Jirachi- heatran and swampert for leads, and latias and heatran for subcm

Jolteon- heatran but life orb ones can be a problem if hes dead

Kingdra- rotom but usually roar it out

Latias- nothing on my team can handle her except speed tie with my own latias =/ im really lucky though

Lucario- suicune if im at 80% or better but i try not to let it set up

Machamp- rotom and pp stall dpunch

Magnezone- heatran,swampert

Mamoswine- rotom,swampert,suicune

Ninjask- roar it out

Porygon-Z- heatran

Rhyperior- swampert,suicune,rotom

Rotom- hearan

Scizor- rotom,heatran,

Snorlax- while it curses i calm mind with suicune then roar it out

Starmie- rotom,suicune set up

Skarmory- rotom,heatran

Suicune- calm mind with it then roar it out

Swampert- rotom,latias,suicune

Tentacruel- rotom

Togekiss- bulky nastey plot 6-0es me

Tyranitar- swampert,suicune

Vaporeon- rotom, latias, suicune can pp stall it if i have to

Weavile- swampert,suicune

Zapdose- heatran, rotom, swampert for hp grass less

Very interesting team, one of the few.

At a glance, I see you'll have some trouble with Lucario. Since you don't seem to have much trouble with Gyarados (Suicune) or Scizor (Heatran) I think it be safe to replace Rotom-H. Yet, I too believe a spin blocker is necessary.

I suggest looking into a Dusknoir:

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Atk / 228 SpD
Nature: Impish
~ Sucker Punch / Ice Punch
~ Earthquake
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Pain Split

Dusknoir will help a lot against Lucario, and you can also switch in on a Gengar's Focus Blast and finish it off with Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch can also hurt a Latias pretty badly. Earthquake is for the Heatran switch in, and Pain Split is your recovery move. Dusknoir also doesn't just roll over and die at first sight of Tyranitar, it'll often survive the attack and burn it or take out a chunk of its health with Pain Split.

I don't see you having too much trouble with Latias, as Heatran can Roar away Calm Mind variants and if you use Dusknoir, it'll be able to Sucker Punch it. Swampert can also take a Surf / Thunderbolt and Roar it away or smack Choice Specs ones with Ice Beam. When playing this team, I suggest not scrapping Froslass. It is a very good check against DDMence and Latias too who would come in handy late game.

Spikes will probably help out against a lot of Pokemon. Good luck!

Hey Tito! I'm almost sure i battled agaisnt this team and that I won. :P
But, moving on:

Problems:
Froslass as your lead.
Gengar.
Lucario.

I don't think that Froslass is the best lead for your team. Azelf can taunt it, set up Stealth Rock and kill it with Fire Blast. Weaville leads are a Problem too. Pretty much everything that outspeeds Froslass is bad. I'm thinking of putting Swampert as your lead, and replace Froslass with Skarmory. The set would be:

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Keen eye
Nature: Impish
Evs: 252 HP/64 Attack/ 192 Defence
Moveset:
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Roost

This will be your "spikes-set up" pokemon. The set is self explanatory. You could go with leftovers instead of Shed Shell if you think Magnezone isn't a problem.

Now the Gengar problem...for a normal team I would sugest CB Scizor, since it checks Latias aswell but, I think Blissey fits more your team since it will anoy the oponent and provoque switches.
A Blissey will erase all your problems with this two pokemon.
I would sugest you to replace it with Heatran or Suicune, but I'm not reallly sure who.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Calm
EVs: 148 HP/ 252 Def./ 108 Spc. Attack
Moveset:
- Ice Beam
- Thunder-Wave
- Flamethrower
- Softboiled

This Blissey will help your team A LOT. Thunder-Wave will screw up fast sweepers that switches to Blissey(Gyarados, Salamence, Infernape, etc..). If you predict a switch to Lucario you can use Flamethrower to do massive damage to it, and then switch to a counter and finish it off. Ice beam will deal with your Latias fear and other dragon types.

I hope you liked my sugestion. :D Good luck with this team.

EDIT:
If you think Blissey doesn't fit, I sugest putting a CB scizor:

Scizor @ Choice Band
Evs: 246 HP/ 252 Attack/ 8 speed
Nature: Adamant
Moveset:
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Bullet Punch

U-turn helps you scout for counters. Superpower deals with Lucario, Pursuit deals with Gengar but, it will not help much with Latias since It'll probabily never switch. Bullet Punch is your main STAB.
I really think you should add this to your team but, the decision is yours.

This is a pretty cool team tito, so I'm going to attempt to shuffle some things around on your team without completely decimating the style.

So, you have a Lucario problem right? Why burn it with Rotom-H when you could just use Overheat and decimate it? Personally I think you should make it a TrickScarf since I'm not sure how much Crunch will do to Rotom. It could also serve as a stop-gap measure against Gengar, Togekiss, and weakened Latias.

If you still want a definite burn move, use Will-O-Wisp on Heatran, but you already use Lava Plume, and I think Earth Power is more useful on your team.

Hope I helped!

ok, nice team man. you've been telling me about it over irc forever, i wish i had the time to use it earlier. so we look at the way this team works-set up early spikes and rocks, then just keep roaring the opponent away, so you damage counters to stuff on your team and then FINALLY breaking through the opponent. lets see if we can have you do that better. to start, things that aren't affected by spikes are a total pain for this team. gengar, latias, things of that nature. i'm thinking you need something fast, with good coverage, and physical moves that can beat the kind of thing that troubles your team. i am pretty sure i have a pokemon that totally fixes your problems-latias, gengar, lucario, tyranitar, as well as check pretty much every sweeper. this pokemon is scarf jirachi. his steel typing adds some nice resistances, and his speed is welcomed. giving you a strong physical attacker as well, jirachi seems to be the perfect fit on your team. the only problem is where to put it. my opinion is to put it over latias. latias doesnt do as much for the team as i'd like-it counters infernape and roars stuff away...but suicune does the former, and half of your team still does the latter. jirachi could also pick off weakened infernape.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch
- Iron Head
- Trick
---

all in all, nice team! i hope i helped bro

Problems:

SD Lucario
Taunt Gyarados
Blissey

How to fix:

This team looks solid all-around a mix between Stall and Balance which utilizes entry hazards. This team is very exposed to these individuals, let me explain why. This team is great, and can prevent boosts due to Roar but some openings that I find is Rest from Suicune, allowing Lucario to throw in one SD. Without any legit speed, its safe to say this team might loose some HP by switching in and out to resist Lucario's hits. For Taunt Gyarados, which is a big nightmare to the team and your only reliable counter is Rotom (which cant do nothing while its asleep). Although I really can't suggest much but have you really ever considered just slapping a Choice Scarf on Rotom-H? to have a real solid check to these guys?

Rotom-H
@ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature (Spe+ / Atk-)
252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
- Overheat

Try this out, to check Lucario and Taunt Gyarados to a good degree. It also says you have problem with Togekiss, well Body Slam versions cant touch Rotom and its outpaced Scarfed or not and you can KO with Thunderbolt. Shadow Ball for coverage while Overheat mainly smashes Lucario, or at least attempts to scare it away. Trick cripples Blissey ealry in the match, which is a huge defensive threat to the team.

Also, I will make another suggestion, but a suicide lead isn't really necessary for a team like this. I really think Forretress would fit the team really nicely on the lead slot. Let me explain why:

Forretress
@ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature (Def+ / Spe-)
252 HP / 112 Atk / 144 Def

- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Explosion

Let me explain why this will benefit over Froslass. The influx of bulky leads are insane so this would fit in nicely. Having Toxic Spikes is really important for teams like this. Toxic Spikes helps deal with Blissey late-game and Toxic Spikes + Suicune is a great synergy which can help you sweep better. Spikes is a given already for your strategy. Gyro Ball gets rid of suicide leads (Fire Blast-less Azelf) Explosion shouldn't be used ealry in the match until you throw in a good 2 layers of spikes and toxic spikes. Overall good luck with this team. Slipping in Wish user might be hard on this team, though its not essential but its to keep Rotom and Foretress alive. Maybe Wish on Latias for Recover? Gl anyways.

@MetaNite- Dusknoir will help me out with gengar, latias, and lucario but then tauntdos will become a huge problem.

@Roflmao- The problem with adding skarmbliss is that my team will be a stall team and i don't want that. Also if i replace suicune/latias then bulky calm minders will rape me. Scizor looks like a good fit in though, ill try it out.

@Tennisace- Well i tested out scarf rotom and has been doing a great job so far. Still does a pretty good job at countering gyarados, and now checks latias, lucario, and togekiss. Then cripples blissey or something with trick. Overall it helps my team a lot. Thanks fo the rate Tennisace ^_^

@Bad Ass- Tried out Jirachi over latias and it did a pretty good job at checking gengar, latias, and tyranitar. But now that i scarfed rotom they have the same role and and i feel that rotom does it a little better. Thanks for the help though.

@franky- Tried out the scarf rotom and been working out fine. Also toxic spikes doesn't really benefit my team since my opponents are switching out anyway and will only lose 6 or 12% of health. But i will try it out over froslass.

Thanks for the rates everyone. Much appreciated

This is a pretty good team, but I have a couple of suggestions:

I seriously think that Lead Forretress will be a much better fit on your team than Froslass. Froslass's main functions are to Spike, go for the quick kill with an extremely weak Ice Shard, and Destiny Bond for a kill on the way out. Forry can do two of the three things listed while gaining better bulk and actually even slightly better offense. It still lures Fire attacks for Heatran and forms great synergy with Swampert. Even if T-Spikes doesn't work out for your team, you could always use something like:

Forretress @ Leftovers
Careful nature
252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Atk

~ Spikes
~ Payback
~ Earthquake
~ Explosion

I'd also keep Earth Power over WoW on Heatran, since otherwise it gets easily walled. As you stated, it can already deal with physical foes with Lava Plume and Roar.

Your team also seems slightly lacking in offense, so I suggest changing your Rotom to a Choice Scarf variant.

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Modest nature
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Thunderbolt
~ Overheat
~ Shadow Ball
~ Trick

This set allows you to outrun and attack +1 Gyarados, Lucario, Gengar, and Latias before they can hurt you. I'm pretty sure it OHKOs the first three with the respective moves; not sure about Latias. Trick allows you to turn Rotom into a late-game sweeper at will. If Tricked onto the right Pokemon (like a Blissey or something), it can also force them to switch out, thus working towards the goal of forcing the opponent out.
