I've been getting into OU Monotype a lot recently, and after researching other people's Dragon, Fairy, Electric, and other types of teams, I decided to create my own custom Ice-type team....so yeah heres the team. Most of my team revolves around hitting-hard and dealing damage.
Mom-o-swine (Mamoswine) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock
Mamoswine is my one of my main leads, mainly for setting up the Stealth Rocks. I decided to run Earthquake and Icicle Crash just for high-damaging STAB moves. Lastly, Ice Shard is for last-turn priority damage
Clearly a Vag (Cloyster) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Shell Smash
- Ice Shard
My other lead for this team is Cloyster. My only reasoning for leading with Cloyster is if the opponent leads with a Pokemon that will set up hazards. With every Cloyster set, I run the Shell Smash Skill Link set, which usually pulls of some great damage. On average, Cloyster will kill 2-3 Pokemon, and sweep most Flying-type monoteams. Lastly, just like Mamoswine, Ice Shard is for last-turn priority damage, although not used very much due to the Shell Smash speed boost. I might replace Ice Shard for Rapid Spin or Razor Shell
Swagicile (Froslass) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Destiny Bond
- Spikes
Frosslass is an amazing addition. Good Special Attack, and better Speed. The Cursed Body ability has helped me greatly when countering pesky physical threats, and after the Focus Sash the Destiny Bond gets rid of any major threats the opponent wants to throw at me. I decided to go with spikes for extra hazards
Brick in the WALL (Regice) @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Snore
- Rest
Every team needs a wall. Regice fits that role very well with its MASSIVE Special Defense. Combined with Leftovers and Rest, Regice is a threat. Like every Regi move set, I went with the Thunder Wave to kill my opponents speed while Regice deals damage. Usually I would run Chesto Berry, but I decided to test out using Snore just to deal some sleep damage, and the unreliability of Sleep Talk with this Regice's move pool. Running Sleep Talk would mean a 1/3 chance of actually dealing damage, and I'm not a fan of those odds. Questioning replacing Ice Beam with Blizzard, but I prefer the accuracy of Ice Beam
Theif (Weavile) @ Normal Gem
Ability: Pickpocket
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Night Slash
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
- Fake Out
Weavile is used for its great Speed/Attack stats. Im running the Normal Gem/Fake Out to compliment the Pickpocket ability, which can prove to be annoying to enemies running a physical set. The only question about using my Weavile is Ice Shard. Since Weavile is so fast, I don't believe it needs the priority, so I may exchange it for Ice Punch
Polar (Beartic) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Icicle Crash
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
Lastly, Beartic is my final power house Pokemon. Powerful moves + High Attack + Life Orb = Almost Gaurenteed 1HKO's. Beartic is one of my favorite Pokemon on this team. I enjoy the reliability of its attack, and this Pokemon always packs a punch
So yeah, thats my team
