OU Rillaboom

Rillaboom @ Leftovers
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 240 HP / 216 Atk / 32 SpD / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch

With the playoffs phase of the World Cup of Pokemon, Rillaboom has re-emerged from its nest as a strong late-game sweeper for balance teams. With its strong priority Grassy Glide, solid bulk, and decent recovery with Grassy Terrain, Leftovers, and Drain Punch, it is able to dominate certain offensive matchups and clean easily late-game. Its EV spread lets it survive defensive Tornadus-T's Hurricane and Choice Specs Dragapult's Draco Meteor while outspeeding paralyzed Dragapult. Rillaboom is particularly good because it exploits offensive teams without a strong check like Tornadus-T, Zapdos, or Buzzwole, and even if it faces these threats, it can punish them with Knock Off. Toxic Melmetal and Hippowdon can help pressure these checks with the combination of status, hazards, and chip damage. Common forms of support are Clefable's Sticky Barb and paralysis from Clefable or Rotom-W's Thunder Wave. After Rillaboom uses Knock Off on an opposing check like Corviknight or Buzzwole, Clefable can switch into a contact move and transfer its Sticky Barb without needing to use Trick; Trick is more useful in matchups without a Rillaboom counter for Clefable to get early-game value and be able to switch into Knock Off itself later. Paralysis slows down faster Grassy Glide-resistant revenge killers like Dragapult and Kartana while simultaneously giving Rillaboom more setup opportunities against the likes of Corviknight and Skarmory.
