[SET COMMENTS]
  • With a great defensive typing, respectable bulk, and STAB Foul Play boosted by its ability, Yveltal makes for an excellent defensive wall. Yveltal's to Psychic allows it to check threats such as Deoxys-A, Ultra Necrozma, and Mega Mewtwo Y.
  • Foul Play often forces switches due to its power and deals large amounts of damage to threats such as Extreme Killer Arceus, Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, Arceus-Ground, and Ultra Necrozma. This also prevents them, as well as Zacian-C, from setting up without massive punishment.
  • Toxic allows Yveltal to chip down Pokemon that resist or have the bulk to tank Foul Play, such as Zygarde, Primal Kyogre, Arceus-Dark, Arceus-Water, and Ho-Oh. U-turn can be used instead, allowing Yveltal to grab momentum against predicted switch-ins such as Arceus-Dark and Ho-Oh while bringing in wallbreakers such as Zacian-C and Primal Kyogre.
  • Taunt prevents Primal Kyogre, Necrozma-DM, and Zygarde from setting up on Yveltal. Additionally, it prevents Arceus-Dark, Arceus-Water, and Ho-Oh from crippling Yveltal with Toxic or Will-O-Wisp while also preventing them from using Refresh and Recover, reducing their longevity.
  • The given EV spread allows Yveltal to outspeed the different support Arceus formes, meaning it can use Taunt to block their Taunt or utility moves. With this, Yveltal also outspeeds Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, allowing it to cripple them with Toxic or prevent setup with Taunt.
  • Tera Ghost allows Yveltal to block Extreme Speed from Arceus and Low Kick from Marshadow at the cost of losing the ability to absorb Psychic-type attacks from Ultra Necrozma and Mega Mewtwo Y.
  • Tera Poison allows Yveltal to better check Zacian-C and wall Arceus-Fairy with the help of Taunt, though checking Primal Groudon and Ultra Necrozma becomes significantly harder.
  • Defensive Yveltal is a great fit on teams looking for Pokemon that can check a large variety of physical threats and threaten them out consistently, such as balance and stall teams.
  • Throughout the game, Yveltal should try to look for opportunities to spread Toxic to the opposing team or provide momentum through U-turn. Yveltal can create these opportunities by threatening out various physical attackers such as Arceus, Necrozma-DM, and Mega Salamence with Foul Play, forcing opponents to make unfavorable moves.
  • Yveltal should be able to safely stay in on most support Arceus formes thanks to Taunt, as well as against Giratina-O and Zygarde.
  • Yveltal can often get overwhelmed by threats such as Zacian-C and Arceus-Fairy, so a teammate such as Ho-Oh or Necrozma-DM that can wall these Pokemon greatly helps it.
  • Fast sweepers such as Zacian-C, Extreme Killer Arceus, and Mega Salamence that take advantage of the chip damage Yveltal provides also make great teammates.

Ready for QC1! Wondering if I could slash Knock Off into Toxic or Taunt, although it only really helps against Ho-Oh and Xern.

Edit: Fixed Moveset formatting.

If it'd be for Ho-Oh and nothing else, then I'd lean against that, especially as this set dislikes Sacred Fire.

Anyways, notify me when you apply this so that I can then corroborate for a stamp.

  • With a great defensive typing, respectable bulk, and boosted Foul Plays moves aren't pluralized , Yveltal makes for an excellent defensive wall. Yveltal’s immunity to Psychic makes it one of the few Pokemon that can consistently check and wear down Ultra Necrozma over the course of a game. Reword this sentence into merely saying its Psychic immunity enabling it to check several Psychic, and Ghost-types, Ultra Necrozma shouldn't be a particular highlight as this set dislikes +1 Stone Edge, also, it doesn't "wear down" Ultra Necrozma, it's a clean OHKO with Foul Play even without hazards, only being a roll as NDM.
  • Foul Play allows Yveltal to deal large amounts of damage to threats such as Extreme Killer Arceus, Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, Arceus-Ground, and Ultra Necrozma. It also greatly discourages Zacian-C from setting up and often forces switches due to its power.
  • Toxic allows Yveltal to chip down Pokemon that resist or tank Foul Play, such as Zygrade Zygarde, Primal Kyogre, Arceus-Dark, Arceus-Water, and Ho-Oh. Add what U-Turn adds over Toxic here, namely gaining momentum by pivoting on expected switches and bringing in Pokemon that may struggle to switch-in out of minimal defensive utility, including some examples.
  • Taunt prevents Primal Kyogre, Necrozma-Dusk Mane Necrozma-DM, and Zygrade Zygarde from setting up on Yveltal. It prevents Arceus-Dark, Arceus-Water, and Ho-Oh from crippling Yveltal with Toxic or Will-O-Wisp, while also denying them from using Refresh and Recover, crippling their longevity.
  • Heavy-Duty Boots is a necessity that allows Yveltal to freely switch in and better check the threats it’s suppose to deal with. Dex info and blatant as it's weak to them
  • The given EV spread allows Yveltal to outspeed the different support Arceus formes, meaning it can Taunt before they can. With this, Yveltal also outspeeds Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, allowing it to cripple them with static What? Probably should reword this as this seems almost incoherent as paralysis isn't something Yveltal can inflict within this set or prevent setup with Taunt.
  • Tera Ghost allows Yveltal to block Extreme Speed from Arceus and Close Combat or Unviable Low Kick from Marshadow at the cost of losing the ability to absorb strong Psychic Type Psychic-type attacks from Ultra Necrozma and Mega Mewtwo Y.
  • Tera Poison allows Yveltal to better check Zacian-C and wall Arceus-Fairy with the help of Taunt, although checking Primal Groudon and Ultra Necrozma becomes significantly harder.
Add a bullet point or two regarding usage tips for this set of Yveltal, such as what it should be doing early-game, on what matchups it should ideally be kept healthy, and so on.
  • Defensive Yveltal is a great fit on teams looking for Pokemon that can check a large variety of Physical physical threats and threaten them out consistently, such as balance and stall teams.
  • Yveltal often can get overwhelmed by threats such as Zacian-C and Arceus-Fary, so a teammate such as Ho-Oh, Eternatus, or Necrozma-Dusk Mane Necrozma-DM that can wall these Pokemon greatly helps Yveltal.
  • Fast sweepers such as Zacian-C, Extreme Killer Arceus, and Mega Salamence that take advantage of the chip Yveltal provides also make great teammates.

  • With a great defensive typing, respectable bulk, and STAB Foul Play boosted by its ability, Yveltal makes for an excellent defensive wall. Yveltal’s Yveltal's (wrong apostrophe) immunity to Psychic allows it to check threats such as Deoxys-A, Ultra Necrozma, and Mega Mewtwo Y.
  • Foul Play allows Yveltal to deal large amounts of damage to threats such as Extreme Killer Arceus, Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, Arceus-Ground, and Ultra Necrozma. This also prevents them from setting up without massive punishment. Foul Play also greatly discourages Zacian-C from setting up and often forces switches due to its power. (would rewording this bullet point to something like this to avoid repeition work? "Foul Play often forces switches due to its power and deals large amounts of damage to threats such as [insert examples here]. This also prevents them, as well as Zacian-C, from setting up without massive punishment.")
It Additionally, it prevents Arceus-Dark, Arceus-Water, and Ho-Oh from crippling Yveltal with Toxic or Will-O-Wisp while also preventing them from using Refresh and Recover, reducing their longevity.
  • Throughout the game, Yveltal should try to look for opportunities to spread Toxic on to the opposing team or provide momentum through U-turn.
  • Yveltal can often get overwhelmed by threats such as Zacian-C and Arceus-Fairy, so a teammate such as Ho-Oh or Necrozma-DM that can wall these Pokemon greatly helps Yveltal it.
  • Fast sweepers such as Zacian-C, Extreme Killer Arceus, and Mega Salamence that take advantage of the chip damage Yveltal provides also make great teammates.

- Watch out for curly apostrophes; apostrophes should always be the straight ASCII ones.
- I'd avoid using "chip" on its own as a noun and instead opt for "chip damage".
