Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn / Ice Punch
From the depths of NU, this rock is rising into UU! Rhyperior's enormous bulk allows it to function as an incredible wall able to stuff out offensive threats like Zapdos and Arcanine-H, while its fantastic ability Solid Rock allows it to trade with would-be threats Excadrill, Mamoswine, and Metagross. Rhyperior's bulk makes it a fantastic Stealth Rock setter able to find many opportunities to set them up throughout the game. Megahorn allows it to fight Slowking, while Ice Punch can 2HKO Hydrapple. Tera Dragon allows it to soak up hits from Slowking, Keldeo, and Rotom-W and check Ogerpon and Ogerpon-C while maintaining its ability to check Zapdos. Special Defense investment allows Rhyperior to act as a defensive check to Zapdos while also being able to live an unboosted Tachyon Cutter from Iron Crown, threatening both with its STAB moves. Rhyperior pairs excellently with Scizor, Metagross, and Lokix, as it is one of the best defensive and offensive checks to metagame staples Zapdos and Tornadus-T, which can hinder these Pokemon from breaking or sweeping. Rhyperior is offensively threatened by Ursaluna and Greninja, and as such appreciates support from teammates like Air Balloon Cobalion, Tinkaton, and Hydrapple to help answer them defensively.
