Hey RMT. After my departure from the RMT room, I havent been playing much mons at all. Shortly after leaving the room, due to unrelated reasons I went through a very bad period of my life which delayed any type of return, but I am back now and better than ever. I decided to go back to things that I loved, and pokemon was one of those, so with my return here is a team I have made and done some laddering (on an alt) and have peaked about 1650 with. Forgive me if the team is rusty, I havent played in quite a few months.
Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
Excadrill is my lead on the team. I chose excadrill for its moldbreaker ability to assure that I can get rocks up against mega sabeleye, as well as toxic it. Excadrill also retains that ability to get up rocks and spin away opposing rocks as it outspeeds most other lead rockers. Excadrill can also win the hazard war against lead landorus if it is leftovers as it can toxic and proceed to spam rapid spin to keep rocks off of its side. Excadrills attack stat should also not be taken lightly as it boasts an impressive 369, allowing it to have some extra offensive presence when the sac is not necessary.
Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Happiness: 0EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Frustration
- Quick Attack
- Earthquake
Pinsir is an amazing threat in the ou tier, and has a great match up against most teams on the ladder, given rocks are up and an opposing zapdos is weakened slightly (with rocks up this is extremely manageable). Earthquake was chosen over close combat to aid with magearna, although with grassy terrain support it can be a hindrance against mons such as a tyranitar.
252 Atk Pinsir-Mega Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran in Grassy Terrain: 236-280 (61.1 - 72.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery

Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Celebrate
- Searing Shot
- Focus Blast
- Stored Power
Victini is super scary with normalium z. With a plus one in every stat it can not only tank hits, but kill with insane proficiency. Stored power becomes a 120 base move after, and base 100 after an intimidate. While it would be nice to avoid this, at full hp, victini after celebrate can beat an ash greninja, given the focus blast lands. Focus blast is used to pick off things like heatran and tyranitar. It should be noted however that this victini set has issues with the lati twins, and hard walled by a mega latias.

Latios @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Memento
While a semi unconventional set, it works wonders for the team. Soul Dew was chosen over life orb to bluff a scarf. Since soul dew is fairly unconventional, it allows me to bluff a scarf, as well as a possible z move with victini being a physical attacker instead. Latios also allows me to have a water resist, which is extremely needed as it pressures ash gren into not spamming water shuriken. Surf is used to damage incoming heatrans so that victini's focus blast will ohko even spdef sets (after celebrate). Memento though is the largest reason I chose Latios. Memento is a heavily underused addition that is so pivotal in this ho squad. With it I can guarantee a set up with either pinsir or victini which do their job in either breaking or sweeping depending on the matchup.
252 SpA Soul Dew Latios Psyshock vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Chansey: 312-367 (44.4 - 52.2%) -- 17.6% chance to 2HKO

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Defog
Landorus gets its incredibly high usage stat for a reason. Scarfed I can often clean up on faster teams, killing things such as koko and sand threaths like drill. A fast u-turn also gives the team lots of momentum which is extremely needed for an ho team. Defog was chosen in the last slot to relieve some pressure on pinsir and victini, as well as a surprise as upon team preview it would be expected that latios would be carrying it.
Blacephalon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
- Psychic
- Knock Off
Hoopa-Unbound used to be in this slot, but I found while in some matchups did so much work, in most it was dead weight. Blacephalon was chosen to have a similarly spammable move (shadow ball similar to dark pulse), however its speed tier was much more suited for the team. This set is extremely strange, but was made for a reason. Psychic was chosen for Toxapex, which is 2hko, and after one, even with regen, is incapable of taking 2 shadow balls making that move even more spammable. Knock off was the other strange tech, but was chosen over trick to not only cripple chansey (explains the lati calc), but it also carries more use than trick as I can knock multiple mons such as fini, heatran, tyranitar, and the rare scarf protean gren (not a good switch in, but it takes one shadowball at full and revenge kills most of my team with scarf).
252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Psychic vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 184-218 (60.7 - 71.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 123-145 (40.5 - 47.8%) -- 5.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 123-145 (40.5 - 47.8%) -- 5.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
Issues:
As mentioned a lot, ash gren can come in on latios and blacephalon and claim a kill making it an extremely scary mon. My normal means of beating it is pressuring it with scarf lando (which can be bluffed as z move lando easily), rocks pressure, and latios being able to eat shuriken for days. I have considered running roost over surf over latios, but the extra pressure on tran is nice as it 2hko offensive after rocks, which would otherwise claim a kill upon switchin.
Kyurem black is also an extremely potent mon, claiming a kill easily whenever it comes in, although with ho not much can be done about that other than offensive pressure, which my team does not lack.
Anyway it feels great to be back to mons and I missed it a lot. With my busy schedule, I will mostly just be getting on in the little free time I have so I'm not sure if I will return to the room in any fashion. Good to be back.
