Flavor/Design:
Adapted for a colder northern climate than its Kalosian relative, Unovan Tyrunt is more extensively feathered to match, its torso, upper legs, and tail now being covered in downy plumage like Archen except pure white; there's also a sort of "halo" around the back of the head and around the wrist areas of the little arms (slightly bigger than in Kalosian Tyrunt) that are sky-blue in color, giving the impression of a ski parka. The feet, top of the head, and the three-clawed hands are dark gray with a slightly purple tint instead of brown, while the lower jaw is light gray. Instead of two orange hornlets over the eyes, it has a single ice-blue crest between the brows, which is vertically flattened and flares out sideways with two points, looking like a V-shape when seen from above; it retains the spike on its tail, sticking out of the feathering, but also ice-blue. The height and weight are unchanged.

Competitive Info:
Kalosian Tyrunt's stat spread is 58/89/77/45/45/48; I simply took 20 points from Defense to give to Speed because I wanted it to be faster and more attack-oriented, so it can make use of a powerful attacking type combination. Strong Jaw and Ice Fang go well together, although the ability itself can only do so much with the relatively weak damage of Ice Fang and the other elemental biting moves. Its real potential, of course, is when it evolves...

"It is thought that Tyrunt first evolved in Unova before migrating to Kalos. The discovery of an ancestral, fully feathered Tyrunt seems to support this theory."
"These Tyrunt are more stoic and apathetic than the ones found in Kalos. Insulated by their feathery coats, they can sneak up on their prey in complete silence."

Flavor/Design:
The theory that Tyrantrum was once completely covered in a feathery coat is debatable, considering that most large Pokémon in warmer climates actually have less fur or feathers than in cooler areas for better heat loss. The well-preserved fossils first discovered of its ancestor Arctyrant, however, show definitive evidence of feathering throughout most of the body. It's a bit smaller and leaner than Tyrantrum, which makes it faster and more agile, and its feathers are smoother than in Unovan Tyrunt but sticks up here and there like Archeops' does, but still white with sky-blue "parka" fluff around the neck, wrists, and now the ankles and a tuft on the end of the tail as well (the ruff around the base of Tyrantrum's neck is absent). The skin on the face, feet, and hands is now blue-green (the same color as in the outer cloud bits of Snowy Form Castform's sprite in Diamond/Pearl), and the back of the lower jaw and the underbelly (which is naked/scaly) are the same shade of gray as in Tyrantrum. The feathery beard is still there, but thicker and with longer spikes, and a pair of feathers resembling whiskers extends from the front of the snout, one on each side like in a Chinese dragon. The head crest now sticks upward a little and resembles the three-pronged head ornament of Gyarados, except that there are two middle spikes instead of one and they are only half as long (with four points overall), and each outer spike has two additional smaller spikes growing on either side near the end like a cartoon snowflake spoke. The crest along with the three spikes jutting out of the tail near the base of the tuft are the same ice-blue as in Unovan Tyrunt, almost as though they were sculpted from blue ice. The head itself is narrower from side to side, and has a smoother, shallower curve along the front of the snout which makes it resemble the head of an Allosaurus more than a Tyrannosaurus, but otherwise is similar to Tyrantrum including ice-blue tooth-like projections on the upper jaw and deadly fangs on the lower one. The arms are longer and more muscular than those of Tyrantrum, with three large claws on hands like Druddigon's. Finally, instead of the neck ruff of Tyrantrum, there are two fluffy "wings" emerging from the shoulders like what Mega Absol has, albeit smaller.

Competitive Info:
From Tyrantrum's stat spread of 82/121/119/69/59/71, I took 20 points from Attack to give to Speed, and then 30 points from Defense, giving 10 more to Speed and 20 to Special Attack. Competitively, Arctyrant is essentially Dracovish if you switched Water for Ice and gave it Special Defense like tissue paper, making it easy prey to such potent special attacks as Moonblast, Focus Blast, and (ironically) Draco Meteor. Strong Jaw enables Ice Fang and Chomp Down to serve as solid attacking options, but Glacial Surge is also there if you want to seriously ruin someone's day, though it doesn't get a Strong Jaw boost and the recoil can be catastrophic if it accidentally overuses it. It's not the fastest 'mon out there, but still decently fleet-footed, so Speed EVs aren't as much of a priority, allowing one to either patch up its terrible Special Defense to help it against neutral hits, or go for broke and pump up its Attack to terrifying degrees. Chomp Down deals heavy neutral damage all around and can take down fellow Dragon-types almost as well as Glacial Surge, and is useful against opponents that resist the Ice type, although a coverage move such as Fire Fang (arguably its best option against Steel-types) is still advisable. Surprisingly, Arctyrant has a decent Special Attack as well, so giving it Draconize-boosted Hyper Voice and Blizzard along with putting all its EVs into Special Attack might be worth checking out if you want to spring a nasty surprise on tanks expecting to resist a Glacial Surge.

"Its razor-sharp fangs freeze prey on contact, whereupon it viciously crunches it up. Its white feathers blend in with the surrounding snow, so its prey never sees it coming."
"When scaring off intruders into its territory, it lets out a roar that can be heard up to five miles away. It was the apex predator of northern Unova 120 million years ago."

This variant was inspired by Yutyrannus, the largest feathered dinosaur known to science and a member of the tyrannosaurid family, albeit not quite in the same specific branch as T. rex itself. I also worked in a rather literal interpretation of the name of the Antarctic dinosaur Cryolophosaurus ("frozen crested reptile"), along with influences from Chinese dragons, due to tyrannosaurs originating from Asia with some primitive ones having the suffix -long, Chinese for "dragon". As for what a fluffy giant theropod of doom is doing in Unova, well, this was the closest I could think of to Canada - which is the stomping ground of a cryptid called the Partridge Creek Monster, described as a giant "woolly" theropod with a nose horn like a Ceratosaurus. I almost gave Arctyrant a nose horn to homage this, but I figured the antler/snowflake head crest was already detailed enough. Lastly, the weaponized roar is based on the ability that Yutyrannus has for some reason in ARK Survival: Evolved.

Flavor/Design:
An Amaura adapted for a warm, tropical climate, it couldn't find safety in colder climates so it instead adapted with electrical powers. Its head sails glow yellow with pointy tips like parts of a starburst, while the back has three small pointy glowing yellow spikes running down the topside. The tail is longer and ends in a small bony ball with two spikes jutting out from either side. The torso, meanwhile, is covered in layered blue and white snow not unlike that of Arctozolt, almost resembling a thundercloud, while the legs, tail, and feet have the same blue as Manectric's main body to further this effect, with the toe claws and the spikes on the tail club and neck being yellow.

Competitive Info:
Amaura's stat spread is 77/59/50/67/63/46, and Aurorus is intended as a tank with decent Special attack - I decided against that, and opted for a build better suited to offense (BoltBeam abuse, yay!), but with less defenses, because if you know how to bypass the huge bulk and wide-reaching weapons of a sauropod like carnosaurs e.g. Giganotosaurus were able to, the poor things are easy meat - though said bulk and weapons are NOT piddly by any stretch of the imagination. Comet Tail and Thunderclap are your best bet for a physical attacker, and Thunderbolt/Thunder and Blizzard for a special attacker (feel free to substitute the former with Volt Switch if you want an unexpectedly meaty pivot, though those mediocre defenses might be an issue). Coverage includes Dragon, Ground, Fighting, Water, and Dark-type moves, though of these, Water (the breedable Aqua Tail) is your best bet as it covers Ground, Rock, and Fire, with only Fighting as a blind spot.

"These early Amaura lived at lower latitudes than those in Kalos. Their back sails repelled heat, helping them cope with the hot, tropical climate at the time."
"Its long neck helps it reach leafy branches to eat from. It attracts electricity through its spines, and fights by swinging its clubbed tail with a noise like thunder."

Flavor/Design:
Similar to its descendant, Aurorus, Fulgaurus has a long, graceful neck and tail, but the neck is held at a 45-degree angle with four long glowing yellow spikes shaped like lightning bolts protruding from the midline, and the tail tapers less than in Aurorus, is a bit shorter and non-curled, and ends with a moderately sized spiky club shaped like a Japanese kanbo, with more two glowy spikes on each side and a smaller one at the very tip. The sails, again, are on the back instead of the neck, now resembling a pair of half-starbursts in shape, also glowing bright yellow like the crests on Toxtricity's head. The snowy covering on the body is still there, but snow also covers the join between the back of the head and the neck, along with the lower parts of the legs and the feet like Mudsdale's fetlocks but with the look of Arctozolt's snow covering. Fulgaurus is actually bigger and heavier than Aurorus as an added defense against predators like Arctyrant, meaning the legs are slightly thicker to support the extra weight. The main body color is dark blue-gray, with a blue underside like the main body color on Arctozolt's lower half; there are still ice crystals on the sides of the neck and head, but the torso does not have them due to being completely covered in snow, furthering the thundercloud impression.
The shiny colors of both stages of this line have gray snow instead of blue, and electric blue sails and spikes instead of yellow.

Competitive Info:
From Aurorus' starting spread of 123/77/72/99/92/58, I took 10 points from Defense and 20 points from Special Defense, and gave them all to Attack. Everything I've said about Unovan Amaura applies to Fulgaurus as well, but with the added punch of 107 Attack and Thagomizer. The normal ability, on the other hand, is Warm-Up - not because of added overall speed, but due to the heat jump-starting Fulgurus' reflexes and making it able to strike faster. This allows it to switch in safely to Fire-type attacks without taking damage at all, and if Stomping Tantrum or Earthquake are factored in, this makes Fulgaurus an unexpected counter to Fire-type as well as and Ground-type opponents. Again, only Fighting-types present a threat that can't be dealt with on its own. This isn't a sweeper by any stretch, but its reliance on powerful attacks allows it to clear the way for an actual sweeper.

"The row of spines running down its neck emits an electric field for defense against predators. This field also keeps its body warm and cozy, preventing it from being frozen solid by its own icy powers."
"Herds of Fulgaurus roamed Unova some 120 million years ago. When fending off rivals or enemies, the swings of their electrically charged, spiky tails are comparable to lightning strikes."

The Amaura line already has a lot of justification for Electric-type attacks which I wish they could've leaned more into with an ability or something, so since Ice is the primary type instead of secondary for this variant and takes the place of the obligatory Rock typing in all the canon fossils except the Galar ones, I was free to slap on the Electric type and make a visual pun on the name meaning of the famous Brontosaurus, "thunder lizard". The tail club and corresponding ability are based on the Chinese early Jurassic sauropod which had such a club, Shunosaurus.

When I originally subbed this line for the Gen 8 Regional Evolutions pet mod, I put the sails on the back instead of the neck because as much as I like the imaginative flourish of this line's design, it was thought for a time that the real Amargasaurus did not have skin sails, the neck spikes instead being covered in horn for use in defense. This has since been arguably disproven and it is likely that they supported fleshy ridges after all, so back on the neck they go! I still put another sail on the back, though, a nod to the tall vertebral spines on the back of the related Dicraeosaurus ("two-forked reptile").

Flavor/Design:
A type of Pachirisu that has adapted to life in the big city, this little do-gooder is a symbol of heroism in Castelia City especially. It has light red fur like the color of Houndour's snout instead of white, and instead of blue stripes on their backs, its' is very dark gray except for the lower half of the face which remains white, with the same yellow cheek pouches as Sinnohan Pachirisu as well as hands and feet that are also yellow in color. The long tail terminates in what appears to be a cartoonish red boxing glove, and is the same yellow as the cheeks and limbs except for the red stripe up top which is connected to said glove; the three spikes on the top of the tail tip are still there, but arranged perpendicular to the tail instead of along its length, making it look like a knuckle duster. The entire top half of the head (rather than just the ears and a small stripe) is also dark gray, but there's also a black domino mask around the eyes, which are now solid white. The shiny sprite has gray fur, the same blue as regular Pachirisu on the top half of the head, yellow cheek pouches, a darker blue boxing glove and cheek pouches, and a white tail.

Competitive Info:
There's no need to fear, Pachirisu is here! This little guy has outcompeted Emolga (which is not found in Castelia City) for one critical reason: its main strategy is to hit fast and hard, with a physical attack almost as strong as its Speed as well as Iron Fist and Justified as abilities - the former to boost punching moves including several STAB moves and the latter allowing it to switch into Dark-types before beating the ever-loving crap out of them. Aside from Electric and Fighting moves, it also knows a few Flying-, Ice-, and Fire-type moves, and can even use the Bug-type U-turn for scouting purposes or if it has to make a tactical retreat. Notably, Iron Fist makes both Ice Punch and Thunder Punch solid options for it since the former is useful against both Ground- and Flying-types that would otherwise threaten it, so while Ice Punch doesn't get STAB, and while you might still want to pack Sky Uppercut or Brick Break to beat down Steel-types, who wouldn't want a cute little squirrel sidekick that can and WILL unleash the infamous BoltBeam combo a la One-Punch Man?

"These Pachirisu are adapted for harsh city life. They use their powerful tails both to pummel evildoers and to launch themselves over gaps in the skyline."
"The muscles in its limbs generate electricity - the harder it fights, the more power it can produce. It tirelessly defends the innocent no matter the cost."

Flavor/Design:
Taller, darker, and more powerfully built than its pre-evolution, the first of the three proposed "Raiclones" is built like a traditional Western superhero. It has the same large legs and long feet as Raichu, but the blue feet have fur tufts at the ankles suggesting boots, and the forearm portions of its muscular arms are also blue with matching fur tufts. The rest of the body is dark gray in color, save for the blue V-shaped stripe on its chest and the blue down its back. Its tail is still its main feature and best weapon, being much larger and more powerful, with an actual white-colored four-fingered fist resembling a cartoon glove on the tip; the rest of it is the same blue as the "boots", "gloves", and chest marking. The three knuckle-duster spikes on the tail are still there, but there are also three more spikes on the back, one on each shoulder and one between; all of these are also white in color, glowing blue-white with stored electricity. It has the same black domino mask around the eyes, but the corners have two upwards-curving spikes, the upper pair bigger than the lower, and the white eyes now have a fierce glare; the longer, but still conical ears also point straight up with a look not unlike Batman's helmet, though the lower half of the face once again stays white. The shiny sprite replaces all the blue hues with red, and changes the dark gray to brown.

Competitive Info:
Leaning into the fast but frail sweeper angle, I added 10 points each to all stats from Unovan Pachirisu, before adding 10 more to Attack and Special Attack each and 20 more to Speed. This is a Pokémon that's as vulnerable as it is formidable in battle, its middling HP and awful defenses ensuring that it will go down to anything with priority or an even faster Speed stat, even with neutral damage. But if it can get a hit in first, it will hit HARD, and with Electric and Fighting both being excellent attacking types, that's usually all it needs to do. The same coverage as its predecessor applies, though. Of course, anything faster than Pachiro or that can get an Earthquake or a Ghost-type move in first will take it down with ease, so your best hope is to load up all your STAB moves and try to get Pachiro to take something down before it has to sacrifice itself so others can live!

"They leap and bound across city skylines unseen as they patrol in search of threats to their territory. Their keen senses alert them to incoming attacks, enabling them to dodge them before they even hit."
"Its muscles in its tail channel so much electricity that it can move faster than the eye can follow and strike with terrific force. Famous for its sense of justice, it is a mascot of social justice groups across Unova."

This line is one I had in mind for a while now, and I wanted to see if I could bring it into this pet mod contest, and the unused type combos including Electric/Fighting gave me a golden opportunity. It was a bit hard to try and find a way to make an electric squirrel work in the same region as Emolga, but then I remembered how Eastern gray squirrels are invasive and have displaced the American red squirrel, and Castelia City doesn't have Emolga, so there you go. The obvious inspiration for this line is comic-book and cinematic superheroes, which mostly come in one of two varieties: the wacky, fantastical kind from the Golden Age which get into all kinds of wild scenarios limited only by the imagination of the writers, and the grittier, more realistic kind that took over the superhero scene from the 90's onward. Unovan Pachirisu is more akin to the former, and Pachiro the latter, with their standard color schemes specifically borrowing somewhat from the various incarnations of DC Comics' Robin along with the grown-up version known as Nightwing. The shiny colors, respectively, reference Rocky the Flying Squirrel and, well, Squirrel Girl! XD

Flavor/Design:
At some point in the past, a colony of Emolga found its way into the Ultra Space, though nobody knows how they got there in the first place. When the colony was rediscovered, though, it was found - to the horror of all concerned - that the Emolga had changed quite dramatically - and one of those changes entailed them becoming parasitic... or, failing that, outright carnivorous. This kind of Emolga has white fur on the face and upper body like its Unovan counterpart, and the insides of the ears ae white, but there's a slight greenish tint to the black around the face and on the ears, and instead of two spikes over the face there's just one like a "widow's peak". The ears are pointed rather than round, and the yellow color inside them along with the underside of the skin cape and the cheek pouches is replaced by reddish purple. The cape itself also has a jagged edge, and extends beyond the arms to form a shape not unlike a stylized bat's wings, while the tail also looks a bit like a bat wing in the vein of a similar-shaped spike on the back of Impidimp's head. The lower body except the feet is greenish black as well, and there's a matching "bowtie"-like chest marking. The mouth also bears two large pointed "buck teeth" that together form a downward-pointing triangle like a single large fang - its main means of tearing into the veins of its prey. The shiny is pure monochrome, entirely desaturated except the mouth and tongue.

Competitive Info:
Like Unovan Pachirisu, Ultra Emolga is a physical attacker, at the cost of its special attack. It has a number of useful STAB moves such as Thunder Shock, Poison Fang, Wild Charge, and Cross Poison, but also knows a couple of Bug-, Ice-, Fairy-, Dark-, and Ghost-type moves as well, along with a few draining moves for quick HP recovery. It retains Volt Switch to enable it to dart out of danger, but with a lower Special Attack than Unovan Emolga it can't hit quite as hard with it, nor can it escape Ground-types without its trainer having to switch it out directly. If the Provocative ability is allowed (IDK if it's an acceptable ability clone), it also gives it a nice little niche of being able to shut down supporters with the Taunt effect while doing damage at the same time, so it doesn't have to devote a moveslot entirely to a support move - even though it could try a support role with its excellent speed, it's a bit too frail and has a rather thin support moveset, so just straight-up setting it upon hapless geezers is probably the better way to go.

"Adapted to a habitat with few storms to draw power from, it has become a parasite to other Electric-types. Its saliva overloads the nervous system, giving it more electricity to feed on."
"Sinking its teeth into sleeping prey, it drains their electrical energy before slipping away unseen. It's said that those it's drained power from become bad-tempered for the rest of the week."

Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): Contact, Draining, Biting
Distribution: Any Pokémon with blood-drinking mentioned in its flavor (Zubat line, etc.)

Flavor/Design:
This lean, mean, and monstrous "Raiclone" has a number of elements Emolga has, but aside from the standard flying squirrel it also adopts some traits from wolves and vampire bats as well. Its head somewhat resembles Lycanroc's but with Ultra Emolga's color patterns, though with angry-looking eyes and one large triangular "buck-tooth" fang on the end of the snout instead of two - this is highly venomous and is often seen dripping with electrified green acid which also drools from the rest of the mouth, which is full of smaller but equally sharp fangs. The torso and neck are longer and thinner than Raichu's and are now wholly greenish-black save for a shield-shaped patch on the belly with a bowtie marking near the base of the neck. This patch, the face, and the long feet and even longer arms are now a pale greenish yellow, almost like acid. From the Lycanroc-like clawed arms, the membranes of bat-like wings emerge, each with three struts (two on the wrist and one on the elbow like Aerodactyl's wings), black up top and purple-red on the underside; the matching purple-red cheek pouches and ear insides are still there, though. The long, bushy, white-colored tail, more like a wolf's than a squirrel's, now bears a black tip with two lightning bolt/bat wing-shaped spiked fur tufts on either side, like a smaller bat attached to the end of the tail, complete with purple-red eyespots and two smaller spike-tufts like ears on the "head" area at the very end. The shiny, as with Ultra Emolga, is purely monochrome except the tongue and mouth.

Competitive Info:
Not much to say here - this line doesn't increase much in terms of defenses and has no Speed increase (not that it needs it, exactly), but the Attack and Special Attack scores are increased by 20 points instead of 10, allowing it to do the same things Ultra Emolga can, only better. Of note is that the HP is slightly better as well, also increased by 20 points, so draining moves aren't as useless on this guy as with his predecessor.

"Venturing through Ultra Wormholes at night to attack MAREEP and BLITZLE, it always emits a terrible Howl before hunting. Its vicious fangs dripping with acid, it savages its prey so brutally that the remains are almost unrecognizable."
"Bite marks left on its victims were once mistaken for those of LYCANROC, but oddly enough, it's more closely related to RAICHU. Its caustic spit causes a terrible fury to well up in those who've escaped it, driving them to maul others as well."

I've actually designed a vampire-inspired Emolga variant and regional evo before, though for a different contest - this is a bit of a do-over of it to better fit the Poison typing, but the designs here are heavily influenced by my previous attempt and are expected to appear very similar. There is actually a basis for the vampiric bat-squirrel concept - in Japanese mythology, a very long-lived bat develops magical powers and changes into a yokai known as a nobusuma, which looks almost identical to the musasabi, or Japanese giant flying squirrel, even though bats and squirrels aren't even closely related. The Zubat line is already vampiric and Poison-typed, but more than that, vampire bat bites actually contain a toxin that prevents blood from coagulating so they can "scrape and lick" more freely, and it wasn't a big jump to make Jinrolga's saliva outright acidic (as acids are excellent at conducting electricity). There are several other vampire-adjacent influences here as well. The idea of this line stealing power from Mareep is taken from the chupacabra, a famous cryptid of recent creation whose name means "goat-sucker", and the idea of it being an alien beast (and some of its appearances being based directly off a creature from a then-popular sci-fi movie at the time when the original accounts of the chupacabra were published) were what led me to dump Emolga off in the Ultra Space in the first place (my original choice was the Distortion World, but the Ultra Space is more in line with the alien inspiration). Some other accounts of the chupacabra are instead based on coyotes with mange, and in turn, that led me to add in some werewolf traits as well - vampires and werewolves were closely associated in traditional folklore, sometimes even being the same type of undead creature! The Frenzy Virus ability is based on the modern idea that vampirism is caused by a virus or microbial parasite in the vein of rabies (handily explaining why vampire bites turn others into vampires, too), and its name is taken from a status of the same name in the Monster Hunter games - again, I'm not sure if this ability choice is a good idea and you're welcome to shout me down with regards to it, but considering how werewolf bites spread their vicious nature around, I thought it was fitting. Lastly, the weight of Jinrolga is a reference to the Hammer Horror Dracula film directed by Terence Fisher, which was released in 1958.

Flavor/Design:
This Dedenne appears a bit chubbier and rounder than its Kalosian counterpart, with thicker, fluffier fur for surviving in the cold of the Alabaster Icelands - it looks almost as round as Togedemaru, though without the spikes. Its ears are smaller to reduce heat loss, and its whiskers are now glowing with starburst shapes at the ends like sparklers, and the tail, while shorter than in Kalosian Dedenne, also has the same distinction, and in fact it's tipped with a larger starburst with many more spikes of heat, making the tail resemble a lit fuse. Its coloration is now dark gray in color with a red belly and ears, while the cheek pouches and the inside of the ears are yellow and the whiskers and tail a glowing orange. The shiny sprite replaces the gray with red, the red with turquoise, and the yellow with white, with blue-white whiskers and tail.

Competitive Info:
Slower than Kalosian Dedenne but better adapted for both physical and special attacks, this little cutie has a far more explosive nature - literally! It only gets one STAB Fire attack by level-up, Flame Charge, but that helps boost its speed so it can get attacks in more easily, and it can also employ physical and special attacks with equal competency - it even gets a few Flying-type moves via TM as well. Its main weakness of the Ground type has only Solar Beam and Solar Blade as counterplay, which are only reliable in sunny weather. Good thing it can learn Sunny Day via TM so it can set up said sunny weather itself!

"A type of Dedenne that has adapted to the frozen Alabaster Icelands. It absorbs light and heat through its whiskers to generate electricity, keeping it warm and cozy at night."
"They are endearing but also mischievous, prone to bursting into flame at inappropriate times. Some have even been known to start wildfires when they feel a bit too cold!"
  • Name: Dennabi
  • Name Origin: Dedenne + Hinabi ("fireworks" in Japanese)
  • Category: Pyrotechnics
  • Height: 5'3" (1.6 m)
  • Weight: 62 lbs (28.12 kg)
  • Typing:
    Electric.png
    Fire.png
  • Abilities: Levitate, Flash Fire, Aftermath (Hidden)
  • Stats: 77 HP / 87 Atk / 67 Def / 101 SpA / 68 SpD / 101 Spe = 501 BST
Notable Moves:
  • Added Level-Up Moves: Dragon Rush, Explosion
  • Removed Level-Up Moves: N/A
  • New TMs: Fly, Weather Ball, Eerie Impulse, Breaking Swipe
Flavor/Design:
Arguably the weirdest of the three "Raiclones" I came up with for the Gen 8 version of this mod, this design is also the largest by dint of being more long-bodied than the rest - basically, Dedenne tried to become Furret! The shape resembles Furret, but with a long, pointed snout almost like that of Manectric (though without the latter's massive hairdo), and ears like Kantonian Raichu's at the back of the head, angled backwards and with small, straight spikes instead of curls - the ears themselves are narrower than Raichu's and the smaller spikes are angled away from the ear overall, almost invoking the antlers of a Chinese dragon. The body is still largely dark gray, but there are yellow jagged stripes running down the back invoking scale patterning, the red belly is divided into even sections, and its nose is also red and conical like that of a plane or missile; the ears also have red upper portions and yellow interiors. The tail is long, thicker at the base in an almost lizard-like fashion, and has a series of five starbursts that decrease in size until you get to the last one at the end of the tail. The gradient of the tail itself fades from orange to red to pink, and the whiskers, which are moved to near the base of the nose like a mustache but otherwise like those of its pre-evo, are colored similarly (the cheek pouches stay where they are, though). Its arms and legs are shaped like Raichu's, but respectively positioned around a third of the way down the whole length (the head, neck, and tail join smoothly together for streamlining) and near the base of the tail; the limbs are the same dark gray as the body while the paws are yellow, and the shoulders have glowing spiky energy trailing from them like wings of flame, again orange at the base and fading to red and then pink at the edges. The shiny sprite has blue fire that fades to purple and then white, a dark brick-red body, a sky-blue belly, ears, and nose, and white cheek pouches, paws, and ear insides.

Competitive Info:
The most notable change Hisuian Dedenne experiences upon evolving is that Cheek Pouch - already a situational ability at best - is replaced by the far more useful Levitate. In other words, bye-bye, Ground-type weakness (Mold Breaker or other ability-negating shenanigans obviously notwithstanding)! This is probably one of the best reasons to use Dennabi in the first place, and you also don't have to worry about grounded entry hazards either, though surprisingly, this line can also learn a bunch of Dragon-type moves via breeding, and Dennabi itself learns Dragon Rush via level-up. This is mostly beneficial for dealing neutral damage to stuff that resists its STAB and is of course useless against Fairy-types, but still worth pointing out anyway.

"It is now more active at night, preferring to use its stored firepower to launch itself at high speeds through the air. It's thought that it first learned to do this to escape predators like Sneasler, but it also does this for the sheer joy of it."
"As it rockets through the skies, colorful sparks of flame are released from its tail, creating beautiful trails of color. Seeing it in flight is a good omen, and it's said that humans learned how to make fireworks by observing it in flight."

Dedenne was the Pikaclone that made me realize that the trend of cute rodents that waste their potential by not evolving at all was here to stay, so I decided to go all-in with this regional evo in terms of weirdness, even with the type combo concerned being the least odd of the three all things considered. The main theme of this line is fireworks and sparklers, and I will freely admit that I had Genshin Impact on my mind in this case - the Japan-inspired nation of Inazuma in that game features fireworks quite heavily in some of its associated quests and events, and honestly I'm amazed there wasn't a fireworks-based regional evolution in Hisui due to the heavy association between ancient Japan and fireworks festivals. I don't have a specific animal basis for Hisuian Dedenne itself, but as with Ultra Emolga, there is a specific yokai that inspired it: the kodama nezumi, which is said to live in the mountains of Northeastern Japan (such as where Hokkaido is!) - and which were said to explode when the mountain gods got upset. The connection to pyrotechnics was an easy one to make, so I based Hisuian Dedenne off a cartoon bomb and worked my way from there. Admittedly, though, my discovery of the kodama nezumi and the bomb inspiration actually came only after I'd already made Dedenne a Fire-type - that part was originally based on the hinezumi, the supposed "fire rat" from The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.
Dennabi, like Mega Ampharos, is a visual play on the fact that the Japanese word for electric current, denryu, also translates to "electric dragon", hence the Dragon-type moves this line can learn - and while I obviously couldn't make it an Electric/Dragon-type, Japanese festivals do include both dragon imagery and firework shows, so an Electric/Fire-type that mimics a dragon was the next-best thing. The Levitate ability is a nod to both East Asian dragons and fireworks being airborne, but really, I just wanted an Electric/Fire-type that doesn't disintegrate the moment you get a speck of dirt on it. XP

P.S. If you can guess what, or rather who, I based the shiny colors for this line off of, you get an Internet cookie. I won't spoil it of course, but since I'm feeling charitable, y'all get just one hint: "¿dnssɐʍ"

This is your 24-hour warning for this slate! Please do not add any new subs, but instead refine and finish everything you can before tomorrow morning!

It's been a while past 24 hours - I had to take a family member to the hospital for a minor surgery, so my apologies for the poll slipping my mind! - but I've unfortunately had to make some vetoes for the first time in the history of the Gen 9 version of this mod. My deepest apologies to those who were disqualified!

Ayecrusher King's Kitakamian Vanillite line is still incomplete, though if they can find the time to finish it at some point in the future, I'm willing to allow it as an automatic submission for the slate based on the regions from Gens 7 through 9, since Kitakami is technically from Gen 9.

The same deal goes for lavarina's Yanmecha, which is also technically incomplete since there wasn't a Future Yanma to go with it (this is the regional evolutions mod, after all, rather than one for evolving the original species directly). Since the Paradox "regions" are technically part of Gen 9, I can also have this one auto-subbed if they provide an entry for Future Yanma as well.

I will make an amendment to the slate rules post-haste, namely that if any of your submissions get disqualified for being incomplete, I will try and find a future slate where each of them can fit and have it automatically submitted to that slate, provided that you complete it by then. However, the maximum number of new submissions you can make for any slate that any previously incomplete entries of yours is auto-subbed to will be reduced by the number of your subs that are auto-subbed to this particular slate. For example, Ayecrusher and lavarina will each only be able to submit or resubmit 5 additional entries rather than 6 once we get to the slate for the regions from Gens 7-9, since each has one of the above-mentioned DQs which, if such a decision is approved by either or both of them, will be auto-subbed to that slate.

Now, with that being said...

********************

For convenience, here is the rule for voting, copied directly from the header post for this mod:
"You may vote for up to 7 evolutionary families per slate, and your votes should include both the family of your choice and the username (preferably without tagging them directly) of their creator. You cannot self-vote more than two submissions, and if you do self-vote, vote for at least three more submissions that aren't yours. In addition, please tag your self-votes or your entire vote collection will be rejected."
Tentatively, this voting phase will last for 48 hours, meaning the winners - by which I mean the entries that have received the three highest vote counts per entry - will be decided on Saturday, September 21 shortly after 8 PM EST. Depending on forum activity, though, this period may be shortened or lengthened as needed.

Based on a private discussion with Council member lavarina, we have decided on a maximum of 6 winning submissions for each slate, with placement slots based on the top three vote counts. If there are 6 or fewer winners in all three slots combined, they will all be submitted, but if the total exceeds that number, at least one slot will require a tiebreaker poll to trim them down. If there is only one winner for each of two slots, the third slot can accommodate up to four winners, but no more than that before the tiebreaker is required. So as a general rule, I will establish a tiebreaker poll if at least one placement slot includes more than four winners.

Now, get to voting, everybody! Thank you for your understanding and kind compliance, and here's hoping that this new policy prevents the mod dex from growing disastrously out of control!

Slate #3 - Voting Phase #2

The top two winners for Slate #3 are Jrdyop's Alolan Drifloon line and my own Ultra Emolga line! However, there were a lot of 'mons that ended up in the third place slot, and we only have four slots left! Thus, it's time for a second poll!

These are the 'mons who've made it past the first round:

For this tiebreaker, only the top four winning submissions will be accepted. Therefore, this is a RANKED poll - you can only pick four entries among these five based on preferential order, from most preferred to least. Your first place vote gets four points, your second place vote gets three points, your third place vote gets two points, and your fourth place vote gets one point. You may submit ONE self-vote as long as you tag it accordingly, but do NOT put the self-vote in first place.

The tentative timeline for this slate is 48 hours (though it can be extended or shortened depending on forum activity), so you have until 6 PM EST on Wednesday, September 25 to submit your votes. Good luck!

Since no other votes have come in, here are the four winners of the tiebreaker poll for this slate:
  1. Glubbfubb's Unovan Glameow line and Ubertrainer2000's Lentalese Lickilicky line tie for first place at 8 votes each.
  2. My own Unovan Pachirisu line comes in second place at 7 votes.
  3. And Ubertrainer2000's Johtonian Drifloon line takes third at 6 votes.
I'll add all the winners to the spreadsheet tomorrow, but for now, please feel free to come up with movesets for your winning subs as we prepare to head into the third and final slate of this themed triad! I plan to set up the header for that sometime this Friday.

Saved by the tiebreaker! *breaks tie* No, not that kind....
But anyway, yes, Lental gets it's first representive as Lickitung becomes a three-stage evolution line! To celebrate, here's some movesets for the newest lizard in town, Anolicky! Once again, these three sets assume that Terastalization is banned.

A bit late on my part since I was very busy IRL today, but here comes the next slate!

Slate #4: No Time Like The Present

This slate will be focused on Pokémon from the regions from Generations VII through IX, i.e. Alola, Galar, and Paldea. There's no real limitations regarding what you can do with the Pokémon of your choice, but for this slate, you can only choose from the Pokémon introduced in any of the three regions listed above. Any entries based on Pokémon from before Gen VII will be automatically vetoed, so it's best to save your ideas for those for applicable future slates.

Formatting your subs according to the official submission format for this pet mod is not a strict requirement, but doing so would be vastly preferable to save me and any coders brought on board in the future a ton of potential headaches. For convenience, the template for all submission elements is provided in the premiere post.

The deadline for submissions for this slate will be Friday, October 4 at 8 AM EST, meaning you have one week from today to get your entries in. The evaluation period will begin 48 hours before the official deadline, and you will not be allowed to make any new submissions after the 24-hour warning before the deadline. Until then, happy submitting!

Side note: Because of my own IRL responsibilities, including my ongoing job hunt, I will sadly not be able to participate in the roomtour. Best of luck to all who can make it, and my deepest apologies to anyone who wanted me to join! I look forward to seeing what results the playtest will give us!

At last, the final line that I mistakenly submitted to slate #2, the Kantonian Bounsweet line, is here! There's a primary focus on regions that haven't got any approved mons yet here, as well as my first aims towards the subregions of Paldea!

Pokémon: Bounswet (Bounsweet + Wet)
Category: Bowl
New Typing:
New Abilities: Hydration / Oblivious / Clear Body
New Stats: 42/30/38/30/38/32 (210)
New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Water Gun, Water Pulse, Soak, Bubble Beam, Hydro Pump, Rain Dance, Surf, Liquidation, Ice Beam, Blizzard
Removed Moves: All Grass-type moves
Flavor/Design: Remember when you used to be able to fish Pokémon out of the Cerulean Gym's waters? After they were evicted during the time of Pokémon Gold and Silver, something had to be done about them, and this variant of Bounsweet fits perfectly, having become one with the waters of Cerluean Gym itself. As well as having a cyan stem, Bounswet's body is basically a small fishbowl that can keep a fish inside. You'll often find it near tank filters, making sure that the Pokémon inside of them are nice and clean.
"Longtime exposure to tank filters made this Pokémon's body transparent like glass. It hold other fish Pokémon inside of them to keep them safe."
"Bounsweet can be best described as a walking fishbowl. Not only is the water inside of it always fresh, but it never gets too cold or hot."

Pokémon: Steenoist (Steenee + Moist)
Category: Bowl
New Typing:
New Abilities: Hydration / Oblivious / Clear Body
New Stats: 62/40/48/40/48/52 (290)
New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Scald, Swift, Tidy Up
Removed Moves
: All Grass-type moves, Stomp
Flavor/Design: Compared to the regular Steenee, Steenoist's calyx has become a set of cyan hair that drops down it's body, It's most major change is on it's hips, which now resembles a giant fishbowl that can keep a wide variety of fish Pokémon inside of them. Almost consisting of entirely water, the water in it's hips always appears to be clean no matter the conditions, allowing for a wide variety of fish Pokémon to be kept inside of them. It can often be found dipping it's legs inside of swimming pool water, which keeps the fishbowl fresh.
"The water inside of it's bowl like hips matches that of a swimming pool. It often dips it's legs in such water to keep the bowl fresh."
"It always takes the safety of the fish Pokémon inside of it above anything else. Steenoist will even beat up other Pokémon just to do this!"

Pokémon: Stelvent (Steenee + Solvent)
Evolution Method: Level up Steenoist while it knows Tidy Up.
Category: Aquarium
Weight: 128.42 lbs.
New Typing:
New Abilities: Hydration / Sanitizer / Clear Body
New Stats: 82/60/128/70/128/42 (510)
Role: Rain Support
New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Fish Bowl, Ice Spinner, Sludge Bomb, Toxic
Flavor/Design: Keeping it's mouth unlike Tsareena, Stelvent's long hair now extends to the bottom of the body, with a tuft of hair on top resembling a certian gym leader, and a maid's headband decorating the top. It's fishbowl hip has become round and wide like a beach ball, with it's legs now completely gone. In addition to a body that resembles a maid's gown, it's two arms now have sanitizers on the ends of them. An absolute germophobe, it uses it's sanitizers to keep everything clean, even if it meant inflicting them with deadly washing up liquid, all in an effort to keep the fish Pokémon inside of it safe and sound. Because it's washing up liquid is full of chlorine, people often employ them to fill up swimming pools.
"The molecules that make up it's bowl affected it's brain, making it hate dirt. It cleans up such dirt with a special liquid that replaces the cells of anyone that touches it into water."
"It's body is a giant fish bowl that can keep almost any kind of fish Pokémon inside of it. It draws their power to fill up it's pair of detergent hands."

Pokémon: Kitikamian Yamper
Category: Puppy
New Typing: Dark
New Abilities: Ball Fetch / Rattled
New Stats: 59/50/45/26/50/40 (270)
New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Assurance, Torment, Quick Attack, Jaw Lock, Foul Play, Dark Pulse, Taunt
Removed Moves: All non-universal Electric and Fairy-type moves
Flavor/Design: Based off the famous controversy where Chow Chow dogs were being painted to look like Giant pandas, Kitikimian Yamper was originally imported from Galar due to the regulations in transporting Panchams into the region. There, they were painted to resemble a Pancham, but once the media figured it out, this Pokémon got very, VERY jealous, and the paint merged with it's body, turning it's lightning bolt tail into a tuft of fur!
"This Pokémon was imported from another region and painted to look like a Pancham. Jealous about the fact it was being used as fake news, the paint fused with it's body to form a dark spirit."
"This innocent Pokémon's cute looks hides a ruthless heart within it. It despises all that is fake, destroying it mercilessly."

VFfLWAD.png

Pokémon: Kitikamian Boltund
Category: Dog
New Typing: Dark
New Abilities: Guard Dog / Rattled
New Stats: 69/90/60/60/90/121 (490)
New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Comeuppance, Parting Shot Bulk Up, Lash Out, Temper Flare
Removed Moves: All non-universal Electric and Fairy-type moves
Flavor/Design: Compared to the regular Boltund, Kitikamian Boltund has slightly rounder ears, as well as the tuft of fur on it's tail that it had as a Yamper. Still upset that it was imported solely to draw in tourists, this Pokémon strikes back with a force of darkness contained within it's back paws. Curiously, any attempt to photograph them has always resulted in controversies, such as "That's not a Kitakamian variant, it's just a Boltund painted black!"
"Originally imported to draw in tourists, this jealous Pokémon aims to be the only thing that is ever fake."
"When it runs with enough speed, it can spread dark paint that can dissolve anything at the touch. Attempts to use it as a popularity source have only ended in controversies."

Pokémon:
Fallacnd (Fallacy + Boltund)
Evolution: Level up Kitikamian Boltund after it has defeated a Kingambit, an Annihilape, and a Dudunsparce.
Weight: 128.4 lbs.
Category: False
New Typing: DarkFighting
New Abilities: Cruel Fallacy / Rattled
New Stats: 79/100/70/60/110/121 (540)
New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Counter, Coaching, Brick Break, Focus Blast,
Role: Sweeper
Flavor/Design: Finally at the peak of it's jealousy, in it's quest to become the only fake thing alive, the reactive energy caused from defeating a Kingambit, an Annihilape, and a Dudunsparce, all Pokémon that you'd think would be fake before they were discovered, allow Boltund to evolve again into this dishonest Pokémon! It now stands up on all fours during combat, with two sharp nails on it's legs and three claws on it's arms. A tuft of fur serves as it's tail, and a white stripe extends down from it's body. It's head now has a wide jaw and a white nose, with two black ears with white tufts of fur on the side. Now a master of the fallacy, this Pokémon's words can make even the lightest of hearts become an ocean of lies in a few sentences. Some people claim it as "The False Pangoro", due to it's extremely similar typing to them.
"This dishonest Pokémon never tells the truth, but yet it convinces it's prey that it is with faustian bargains. No-one so far has ever seen through it's cruel tricks."
"Known as "The False Pangoro" in some countries, Fallacnd's brutal claws can replace every memory in the mind with a white lie in a single strike."

Name: Cruel Fallacy
Effect: This Pokémon uses Topsy Turvy on entry.

None...it's literally just Dunsparce. All Dunsparce in Ferrum evolve into Ferrumian Dudunsparce instead of regular Dudunsparce, with the same requirements.
"Dunsparce has a drill for its tail. It uses this tail to burrow into the ground backward. This Pokémon is known to make its nest in complex shapes deep under the ground."
"This Pokémon's tiny wings have some scientists saying that Dunsparce used to fly through the sky in ancient times."

New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Acrobatics, Dragon Breath, Dragon Pulse, Draco Meteor
Removed Moves: None!!!
Flavor/Design:
Within the Dragon's Nest at Ferrum, a group of Dunsparce who managed to climb up to the top witnessed the large statue of Rayquaza, and were inspired to fly for the sky once more like they did in Ancient Times. Using the heights of the nest, this variant of Dudunsparce was born, possessing scaly armor that resembles that of Rayquaza, with it's drill tail being replaced by a tail that resembles Rayquaza's. Just like a Bagon, this Pokémon aims to fly for the sky every day, so it can re-enter the atmosphere once more to join Rayquaza.
"Aiming to become just like it's true idol, this Pokémon tries it's very best to fly every day. It often watches upon Salamence to see how it flies."
"Resting within a dragon's nest had partially awoken it's draconic genes. To get the rest of them to emerge, this Pokémon bravely fights against evil every day."

Pokémon:
Dudunztal (Dudunsparce + Quetzal)

New Stats: 110/110/55/100/75/110 (555)
New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Extreme Speed, Dragon Dance, Dragon Cheer
Role: Balanced Speedster
Flavor/Design: After mastering their ability to fly into the atmosphere, Dudunsparce evolves once more into Dudunztal: Yes, we're really doing this again, Dunsparce is now a two-stage evolution line! Dudunztal consists of a long serpentine body with a jagged tail, which resembles Rayquaza itself. It has two wide wings with white feathers, and a head that retrains the Pokémon's famous eyes. Basically considered to be a miniature Rayquaza by some, when it spreads it's wings towards, the skies clear for the dawn of a great battle.
"This Pokémon was believed to have served under the watchful eye of the great Pokémon of the sky in the past. When it raises it's wings, the skies clear instantly, no matter how rough they are."
"Thought to have been the true evolution of Dunsparce, it is believed that Ferrum is where they first originated. It only appears when there is not a single cloud in the sky."

Removed Moves: All non-universal Fire and Poison-type moves, Sweet Scent, Trailblaze, Thief, Nasty Plot, Foul Play
Flavor/Design: This variant of Salandit is based off the Altiphylax stoliczkai, and can be found in both Mount Coronet and Fullmoon Island. Not only is it's lower jaw a lot bigger, but it also has an organ resembling a crescent moon on the top of it's head, with light blue streamers extending from the side of it. It is surprisingly calm, and often gathers on the furfilment of dreams, just like their rival, Clefairy, does.
"These Pokémon travel in groups of ten, bestowing their energy upon their Salazzle leader. Most of it's non-hunting days are spent staring at the full moon."
"Believed to have originated from an island where dreams come true, this Pokémon is surprisingly calm, and feeds only on the weakest of Bug-type Pokémon."

Flavor/Design: Compared to regular Salazzle, Sinnohian Salazzle has a set of star shaped spots going down it's stripe, and it's crescent moon organ now extends to the back of the body. It also has the same lower jaw as it's previous form. It uses it's beautiful organ to attract Salandits and have them worship the moon itself, ensuring a nice, clear night. Oh, and only Female Salandits can evolve into this Pokémon, just like it's original form.
"Under a crescent moon, groups of up to 100 Salandits gather under this Pokémon's wing, blessing it with the power of the stars themselves."
"It uses the power of the stars to ensure that it's prey remains calm, even in their last moments. It's believed that one appears every time a dream becomes true."

It now has four arms, and it's tail now resembles a crescent moon as well, with legs now having green tips between the bottom of the legs and the feet. It's head now sports a purple ruff, as well as a green marker on it's eye. Said to have come from the dreams of those who had a wonderful sleep, when it raises it's four arms, dreams everywhere become true.

New Moves: (Moves in bold are level-up moves) Headbutt, Terrain Pulse
Removed Moves: Mud-Slap, Sand Tomb, all non-universal Rock-type moves (Until evolving into Hyracodale)
Flavor/Design: This ancient relative of Mudbrary is based off the Hyracotherium, one of the earliest horses. It has a bright peach body, and it's eyes are wide awake. However, scientists cannot claim if this was actually an Ancient form of Mudbray, or a relative of it displaced from another timeline.
"This Pokémon resembles an ancient Mudbray that once grazed upon the finest of fields. Not many sightings of it exist."
"It bears a resemblence to a Pokémon described in a paranormal magazine that resembled a prehistoric donkey."

: Mud-Slap, Sand Tomb, all non-universal Rock-type moves (Until evolving into Hyracodale)
Flavor/Design: Ancient Mudsdale's feet are bald and have black tips on them, just like it's pre-evolution. It's tail is nothing more than a simple black ruff of hair, and it's braids are merged together into a single tuft of hair. As it can only be found in Area Zero, not much is known about it, but it apparently was a peaceful grazer with an extremely deadly kick!
"It is possible that a horse mentioned in a lost page of a mysterious book could be this Pokémon. The page claimed it could destroy titanium in a single kick."
"It has similar features to a Mudsdale described in a dubious magazine, but the two have very little in common otherwise."

It's mane now extends all the way across it's body, with it's tail being attached to it, and it's long legs now have two hooves at the bottom, making it resemble it's namesake more. The Magazine Occulture theorizes that it took on this form to fight back against the predators that once threatened it, evolving rock solide fur that has never been dented.
"This Pokémon's characteristics match that of Hyracadale, a Pokémon described in an ancient book. No attack can ever dent it's hair."

"A paranormal magazine once described a living bulb that could store electricity, which could be this Pokémon."

Flavor/Design:

The general idea was me thinking "What Pokemon would be the weirdest to see in Pokken Tournament?" and my mind immediately spat out Oinkologne as the answer for some reason. Oinkologne-Ferrum is similar to a regular Oinkalogne in terms of their colors, but distinct enough that you can tell the difference between the two forms. The ears look almost tied back as if they were a bandana. They stand on their hind legs, unsteadily, when battling, but are quadruped everywhere else.

  • New TMs: Low Kick, Acid Spray, Chilling Water, Thief, Poison Tail, Venoshock, Poison Jab, Toxic Spikes, Iron Head, Gunk Shot, Nasty Plot, Sludge Bomb, Toxic, Lash Out, Muddy Water, Sludge Wave, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam
Flavor/Design:

Sewagator looks similar in build to Skeledirge, except the white parts of Skeledirge are replaced with a purple color, possibly actually dripping sludge. There is a lack of the firebird in Sewagator's design, because Crocalor never got the chance to nest it. Its signature move Burning Refuse is similar to Torch Song, but doesn't seem to have a "focus" like Skeledirge and its bird, though people do state that the move seems more powerful in heavily polluted areas. Its tail is shaped like a metal sewer pipe (and is probably a similar weight, as well).

Competitive Info:

Mixed Attacker.

"Despite appearances, Sewagator hates an ill-maintained sewer system and often works with sanitation workers to keep the system running smoothly."
"Sewagator are often found in dark, damp places, like sewers. When they get mad, they smack their pipe-like tail against their surroundings."

A blend of Pikipek's coloration and Trumbeak's body type, but it has longer legs, given that its new evo is based on a crane. Although named the "Graceful Pokemon" in the Pokedex, newly evolved Trumbeak can be quite gawky and clumsy as they get used to their longer legs.

"Tsarvyrns radiate a crimson pollen whenever they attack, examination into this pollen has shown pure draconic energy."
"Tsarvyrn hates insolence within their ranks, rival dragons don't want to face this queen if they are in a rage."

Flavor/Design:
Based on the dragonfruit, a fruit native to southern Mexico. Tsarvyrn's face cover is spiked and jagged like fangs, her hair radiates draconic energy, and her legs are spiked and scaly. When she moves, she releases crimson pollen from her hair, which is made of pure draconic energy.

Competitive Info:
A classic DDance sweeper with a unique utility niche. Like base Tsareena, this Pokemon also has Rapid Spin, which when boosted by Draconate becomes a unique hazard-clearing move that can't be blocked by Ghost-types, you are still blocked by Fairy-types, so be careful of those. Based on the Steatoda nobilis, also known as the noble false spider. It also has traits resembling classic assassins and spies, particularly the ones during the color period of Britain.

Competitive Info:
A strong defensive Pokemon that has great bulk, a unique ability to make it a potent lead despite its poor speed, and other nasty support options. It's typing is good but not the best defensively, and despite a descent attack stat lacks a good STAB combo. Still, access to STAB U-Turn makes this Pokemon hit deceptively hard for a defensive Pokemon.

"Despite their predatory visage, Cetophalus are more gentle giants that have a massive appetite and a temper if they can't satiate said appetites."
"During mating season, Cetaphalus turn a deep blue and breaches the waves under the starry sky, those that make the largest waves are picked due to perceived higher strength."

Flavor/Design:
Cetoddle is based on baby sperm whales, a fanged species of whale, and general bratty ruffians. Cetaphalus takes inspiration from not just sperm whales, but blue whales as well, and gains a more graceful appearance.

Competitive Info:
A bulky mono-fighting type, with a deep move pool to accentuate excellent offensive stats, good defensive stats when invested, unique support tools in Dragon Tail, Wish, Knock Off, Taunt, and Encore, and three great abilities under the right situation. A flaw I gave it is that instead of the traditional Close Combat for fighting-type STAB, it has Superpower or Hammer Arm as STAB options, obviously much less effective, meaning as a pure offensive fighting-type it's not the best, but as an attacker with a support niche its very strong.

Flavor/Design:
This kind of Sizzlipede imitates a Vibrava to avoid predators, adopting its coloration and body patterning, and even learning some of its attacks. More adventurous and less prone to living in deserts than Vibrava, however, it snuck aboard ships traveling to Hisui and got loose once they made landfall, eventually establishing breeding populations in an unprepared new land. Its body is the same dull greenish yellow as Vibrava, and the armor on its back is green instead of dark blue with a long black diamond pattern invoking Vibrava's closed wings; it also has two green diamond-shaped antennae resembling Vibrava's tail fins. Its legs meanwhile are black, its eyes green like Vibrava's, and its mouthparts the same color as its body; notably, these mouthparts sport a pair of retractable black claws which it uses to seize any unsuspecting victim that gets too close.
The shiny colors for this line are the same as shiny Vibrava's, with all colors changed accordingly.

Potential Competitive Info:
Not much to say for this one. I just transferred 20 points from Sp. Def. to Speed to make the glass cannon stat spread clearer, and changed its abilities accordingly. Berserk is worth noting because its special stat is actually weaker, and its only two special Dragon attacks are Dragon Breath and Dragon Pulse, but it has more physical Dragon attacks to make use of. Too bad its other two abilities aren't useful for a physical attacker...

"This ancient type of Sizzlipede is said to have come from another land, but now lives in the Coronet Highlands. It seems to resemble a Dragon-type from its former home."

Flavor/Design:
This Centiskorch has a color scheme more reminiscent of a Drampa, with a blue-green back and a pale green belly with pink eyes and white mandibles and legs. Notably, instead of flames for antennae on its head and tail, it has actual fluffy feelers resembling Drampa's head and tail fluff, along with two clusters of three more feelers joined at the bases on either side about halfway down resembling Drampa's wings. Like Hisuian Sizzlipede, the shiny sprite for Hisuian Centiskorch has shiny Drampa's colors.

"This Centiskorch evolved to imitate a mysterious Dragon-type Pokémon, and does such a good job at it that it's gained the Dragon typing itself. It keeps to itself most of the time, but woe betide anything that disturbs it..."
"There's a rumor going around that the Hisui region used to be home to a powerful Dragon-type, which was preyed upon by Centiskorch. But because Centiskorch hunted this Dragon-type so much, it eventually went extinct!"

Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): Sound
Distribution: Can be chain-bred to Dragon-types that can learn Roar, but Stupendra is currently the only Pokémon that can learn this by level..
Flavor/Design:
A regional evolution of Hisuian Centiskorch rather than a Gigantamax form, Stupendra still looks much like GMax Galarian Centiskorch, being super-long and almost dragon-like. This verison emphasizes this more clearly, and its color scheme, patterning, and features now imitate Rayquaza, with a green upper side and a black belly like Delta Rayquaza. Its mandibles and a pair of backswept horns resemble a smaller version of Delta Rayquaza's facial horns, and from the back parts of the mandibles and the tips of the horns trail streams of yellow dragon energy reminiscent of GMax Centiskorch's fire antennae. Two more trails of dragon energy also stream from the tip of its tail. Running down its body are several pairs of fins similar to those of regular Rayquaza, the edges being red in color. The glowing yellow patterning on its underside remains, but is similar in appearance to the yellow markings running down Rayquaza's body. As with the previous stages, the shiny is similar to shiny Rayquaza's, being gray instead of green with orange dragon energy instead of yellow.

Potential Competitive Info:
Didn't need to change much with the stat spread - just give 25 more points to Special Attack and 5 to Special Defense. Since the attack stats are now balanced - and equally massive - this thing can use both physical and special attacks with equal ease, tearing through its opponents with a number of Dragon STAB moves like Dragon Rush, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, and the ever-infamous Draco Meteor, with either X-Scissor or Megahorn as its main Bug STAB move. While no longer Fire-typed, this line also keeps the Fire-type TMs that its Galarian counterpart can learn, the better to take down Ice- and Steel-types that would otherwise threaten it; its mimicry of Vibrava as a Sizzlipede also gives it access to Ground-types to take down Rock-type threats, though Flying and Fairy are still blind spots for it with only Thunder Fang and either Venoshock or Smart Strike as respective answers to them. With the right moveset and stat boosts, Stupendra has the sheer damage potential to be every bit as terrifying as the tales tell, but an inexperienced and ill-prepared trainer will be understandably dismayed to learn that this creepy crawly colossus may not be as tough as it looks.

"Legend has it that a Centiskorch that lives for a century becomes a Stupendra, growing so massive that it can claim an entire mountain as its territory. It is rarely seen, perhaps because its rampages tend to leave entire lands barren."
"As fearsome as it is, this giant predator is quite affectionate towards its young. Whole colonies of Sizzlipede and Centiskorch have been found to have a Stupendra guarding them - anything that dares threaten its family is in mortal peril."

This line is based on the oomukade, a mountain-sized dragon-killing centipede yokai, which is also the basis for Centiskorch itself and its GMax form especially, but I felt like the canon version treading on familiar ground both Fire/Bug and a centipede was sadly unavoidable despite having such a cool design. Because having it be just a big serpentine arthropod likely isn't enough to justify the Dragon typing, though, I also added in a theme of mimicry in that this thing is basically ripping off other Dragon-types for its own selfish gain - initially for defensive purposes but eventually to sneak up on prey, and finally to dress up as a non-Hisui-native legendary just for the heck of it. In any case, this line's imitation game has gotten so good that it's gained the Dragon typing itself, though considering that this particular type combination has three more type weaknesses than its canon counterpart and still hasn't quite managed to get rid of its vulnerability to Stealth Rock (it's a double- and not a quadruple-weakness, sure, but... yeah), the benefits of such a type swap are... debatable, at best. :blobshrug:

Fun fact: The Japanese name for Stupendra, and my original name choice for it, is おおむ凶暴 Omukyobo (from おおむかで Ōmukade, "giant centipede", and k凶暴 kyōbō, "berserk").

The first one to level-up under these conditions will be the one that evolves into Astrollite, while all other Hoennian Minior disappear. The Star Pieces are consumed.

Flavor/Design:
The shell of this Minior is made of ice instead of rock, though aside from color and a bit of translucency it doesn't look much different from regular Minior; instead of spikes poking through, there are tiny jets of flame that trail behind it as it flies. When the shell is busted open, it reveals a core that's made of fiery energy, jets of fire like solar flares replacing its spikes and its eyes resembling four-pointed starbursts instead of swirls. The shell is always pale blue as with the ice on other Ice-types, with darker blue indents, but its core comes in five different colors based on how hot it burns: Red, Orange, Yellow, White, and Blue (the same colors that distinguish stars based on temperature). Like regular Minior, the shiny is black with spots of all five colors all around it.

Potential Competitive Info:
The defenses of the Meteor form are somewhat more middling than Alolan Minior, but its offenses are slightly boosted to compensate, making it more of a jack-of-all-stats. The Core form, however, sacrifices some of its defenses for even greater speed than its Rock/Flying counterpart. The main objective when using this 'mon is to activate its Shields Down ability which turns it from a mediocre generalist with four common weaknesses (including a deadly Rock weakness) into a fast and deadly mixed sweeper... though considering said type weaknesses and its ho-hum HP, having it get below half HP and survive is no doubt a chore in and of itself!

Meteor Form
"A mysterious type of Minior that comes from further beyond this planet than the Minior found in Alola. The two seem to be of common descent, however."
"Ironically, its fiery core is protected by a shell of ice as it draws in heat, freezing moisture in the air around it. Places where it's been are left dry as deserts."

Core Form
"Its icy shell has melted from its own heat, exposing a core like a miniature star. It fuels its fire by sucking in anything flammable with its own gravity field."
"The core of this kind of Minior blazes in different colors depending on the kind of fuel it's absorbed for sustenance. Some colors of Minior burn hotter than others."

Flavor/Design:
Formed from five Minior combining into one a la Voltron, this miniature celestial body is a living paradox of extreme heat and cold in a single being. Its inner core is now a large fireball with the same face as Hoennian Minior, but a bit smaller relative to the body with a wider, now jagged mouth; the eyes and mouth burn white with cyan-colored centers, hotter than the rest of the star. The star itself is mostly yellow, but has patterning all around it consisting of irregularly-shaped red spots edged with thick orange bands like sunspots; jets of white-hot flame like solar flares also rise from its surface at random locations, fading into yellow and then orange. Both the sunspots and the fire jets change over time, the patterning moving and shifting around its surface and the jets dissipating in some places and firing off anew elsewhere. Surrounding this solar core is three rings of blue ice, the outermost part being two rings positioned perpendicular to one another like the framework of a globe structure, a small icicle spike jutting out from each "pole"; the globe is slightly off-axis and wobbles a bit as it gently spins in place. The other ring inside this is singular, and gradually changes its angular orientation as they too rotate around the core; this one has four small spikes to make its rotation visually clear. The ice rings are pale blue with darker blue icicles, and a faint bluish frost energy connects the gaps between the outermost ring-frame, with white translucent markings like simple constellations decorating it like a star map.
The shiny sprite has a light blue star, the sunspots being white with cyan edging and the mouth being orange with a yellow center. The ice around it is pale gray with black icicles, a reference to the term "black ice" (the transparent, slippery layer of ice that sometimes forms on roads and pavements during winter).

Potential Competitive Info:
This regional evolution has the same stat spread as Core-form Hoennian Minior, the only difference being the addition of 10 points each to both defenses... not that this matters much, since the benefits of the Core form are now accessible without having to risk the poor thing disintegrating accidentally! Aside from the obvious Fire and Ice STAB, Astrollite also learns a number of Psychic- and even Water-type moves such as Psychic, Stored Power, Liquidation, and Surf, and if you don't mind taking risks with it, you can also have it run Calm Mind to boost its special attack even further (a pity it doesn't get a physical attack buffer, since it can use physical attacks just as well, but oh well). Of note is that the Shields Down ability has been replaced by Tinted Lens (two words: polarized windshield), which would be of greater benefit the more "not very effective" attack matchups it has, and there are six in total (two of which being its own typings), but Dragon is easily countered by its Ice attacks and Steel and other Ice-types with Fire, while Rock and Water are direct threats to it type-wise, making it situational at best and next to useless at worst. This is unfortunately its only ability, though, so you'll have to just give it the right item and hope you've picked the right moveset for it. Good luck!

"An Astrollite is formed when five different Miniors collide and fuse together, their shells breaking apart and reassembling. Why its rings remain cold to the touch while its core burns like a tiny star is a mystery to science."
"It seems to draw its power from the burning gas within its core, concentrating it with the help of its rotating rings of ice. Certain engineers are studying it in the hopes of creating spacecraft inspired by its unique anatomy."

The original basis of this line was Comet Hyakutake, a comet discovered by Japanese scientist Yuji Hyakutake that passed unusually close to Earth on March 1996, and because comets are bodies of ice, I liked the idea of an Ice-type Minior with a frozen shell; I made it a Hoenn variant because that region corresponds to the territory in Japan that Hyakutake lived in. Ice/Rock would have been a pretty pathetic type combination, though, especially defensively, so I added the Fire type because I wanted an Ice/Fire type for sheer ironic humor and to fit the flaming meteor trope as well. The star elements came in a bit later, as a means of keeping the color variation, but this turned out to be a good decision because the variations of stars by color based on temperature allowed for some impromptu education about different types of stars, though preferably I'd have made the regional evo a red giant if I was going to fully illustrate the life cycle of a star. As it was, though, I didn't want to ditch the shell element, so I threw in the concept of a Dyson sphere, a structure encasing a star and drawing power from it to sustain whatever it is that's on it, be it the technology used for it or life living on its surface; the idea of it being a full sphere is probably not based on any actual theory and a full spherical shell would've obscured the core anyway, so I went with a bunch of rings instead which has been depicted before in films and art and which in general just looked more visually interesting.

Flavor/Design:
A Cutiefly adapted to feed from landfills and the waste-dumping sites of Galar's many factories, this little bugger is dull purple and dark gray in color a la Trubbish instead of yellow and white. Its wings are white in color with pale red veins on them, while its eyes are large, spherical, and red with a darker red spiral marking in each of them. Instead of a pointed proboscis, it has a tube-shaped one with a nozzle at the end from which it can spit a foul, caustic fluid to predigest its food. Lastly, there is a translucent round bubble on its backside corresponding to where an abdomen would be, full of bubbling fluid. Ideally, the 3D sprite for this thing would have a visual gimmick wherein the contents of its butt-mounted acid sac would vary depending on its held item, with differently colored fluid as well as a simple 3D sprite for the held item floating inside. By default, though, the acid is neon purple with a slight luminescent effect.

Potential Competitive Info:
The pitch I had in my head for this line was "What if Mega Beedrill was a special attacker?". To this end, I cut 10 points from each defensive stat and added them to Special Attack. Gunk Shot and Bug Buzz are your best STAB bets here, though support stuff like Knock Off, Toxic, and Supersonic are also promising given how fast it is.

"They digest food externally, spitting a foul liquid that can dissolve anything before lapping it up. They gather at filthy places such as garbage dumps."
"Depending on what it's eaten, the color of the fluid in its acid sac can vary in color. They are sometimes used to dispose of dangerous chemicals safely."

Like Galarian Cutiefly, Ribombee has traded flower pollen for literal scum of the earth, and has changed accordingly - it too has dull purple in place of yellow and dirty gray in place of white, while its wings are white with red veins and its eyes are big, round, red, and have dark red spirals in them as well as black rings around them joined by a black "bridge" like a mad scientist's goggles. Instead of a scarf, it has dirty off-white fluff around its neck, shoulders, and arms in a manner almost invoking a shabby labcoat. Its body also has scuzzy tufts of hair all around it with short, jagged, white-colored antennae, and instead of a small mouth it has a large toothy grin like Baikinman, which conceals a long tubular tongue to suck up the various disgusting fluids that make up its diet. Finally, the round glass-like bubble full of purple acid is now on its back between its wings, giving it a sort of "hunchbacked lab assistant" look.

"A steady diet of all kinds of strange compounds has addled its brain, causing it to act unpredictably. It gets a petty thrill out of annoying others just to see what will happen."
"By mixing noxious chemicals in their acid sacs, they can enhance themselves in different ways. They prey on Grimer and Trubbish, keeping their populations under control."

A strange thing has happened to a Galarian Ribombee that got teleported by the trading system - human DNA, possibly from a stray hair or dead skin flakes that got stuck to its body, got mixed up with the Ribombee's as it rematerialized, triggering an evolution into a truly twisted creation of mad science! An arthropodian abomination that wants to raid your fridge at six in the morning! Behold and beware, it's HELPMEE!!
The overall body shape is even more human-like than Ribombee, but many elements of its pre-evo are still there. The toothy mouth is gone, and the nozzle snoot is back, and is somewhat thicker than Galarian Cutiefly's with an almost trunk-like look - think of the Aardvark's snout from The Ant and the Aardvark, but with a wider mouth shaped not unlike a vacuum cleaner. The white, jagged antennae are now on either side of this proboscis and invoke a mustache in shape, while there are two enormous, very long, dirty-white hair tufts just above the eyes like a mix of angry eyebrows and Dr. Wily's iconic hairstyle, but the rest of the head is the same as Galarian Ribombee's, the large red eyes still sporting spirals and black glasses markings around them. The rest of the body is shaped roughly like that of Scizor's, but instead of sleek red armor, its exoskeleton is dull purple with sparse hairs throughout, and the upper parts of its legs are black, the lower legs and its two-clawed feet like Scyther's being dull purple. The thorax/torso is covered in dirty-fur like the lower legs and eyebrows, and extends all the way down the arms and way past either side of its back a crude impression of a scientist's lab coat; the edges are mottled with stains of various colors, and more such stains are scattered throughout as a result of its grim and grimy experiments permanently staining its fur. Disturbingly, it has large, gray, five-fingered hands shaped like Mr. Mime's, even down to the finger pads, though the pads here are gray. Its acid sac, shaped roughly like a round chemistry flask with a noticeable stalk, joins to a ring of gray armor mounted on the backside, and is angled upward so the fluid inside is still able to flow into the rest of its body. The legs join the body more towards the front than the sides like in Scizor. Finally, it has only one pairs of usable wings, resembling Scizor's upper wings and white in color with red veins and a dull purple upper portion joining with the rest of the body; there are, however, two small purple knobs on gray stalks like switch handles as well, positioned where Scizor's hind wings would be and joining to two purple round protrusions on either side of the lower back. These in fact are based on the halteres that real flies use to help control their movement in the air... as well as the "pull the switch" trope that's bound to turn up wherever mad scientists do.

Potential Competitive Info:
Combining the stat spreads for Mega Beedrill and Galarian Ribombee, I originally made Helpmee's Special Attack a nice 150 to match Mega Beedrill's 150 Attack, and made the Special Defense and Speed the same as Mega Beedrill's as well, but I decided to transfer 20 points from SpA to Atk this time around for balance purposes. You'd expect a housefly-based Pokemon to be a heck of an annoyance, and indeed, Helpmee does get Supersonic, Taunt, and of course Toxic, but that Special Attack can't just sit there gathering dust! To this end, I added two signature moves, both of which can be powered up by Adaptability if need be. Noxious Brew is both decently powerful and capable of inflicting some nasty statuses if the RNG is by your side, but more notable still is its other signature move which, alongside Belch, can synergize with Adaptability and Helpmee's ludicrous Special Attack stat once it does one thing Mega Beedrill can't: eat a Berry. Fire off just one of either attack, and anything that doesn't resist either Bug or Poison had best be writing its will - to say nothing of the four types that are weak to either type. Unfortunately, getting the berry itself to be used is easier said than done - you'd have to bring in a berry meant to cure a specific status condition and hope an enemy move causes it... or worse, have Helpmee survive at 25% health. Even if it has five resistances, its four weaknesses are commonly used enough to be a cause for concern, and its physical defense is so awful that you might as well just give up on the "get to 25% health or less and live" front. Your best bet with this strategy would probably be to use the Lum Berry and hope to take a non-damaging move that inflicts a status effect, though naturally, an enemy with Unnerve would put the kibosh on this strategy completely, so for greater reliability, the safest bet for Lum Berry users would arguably be to run Noxious Brew alongside Bile Blast or Bug Buzz with Adaptability alongside Belch - and even then, it's worth keeping in mind that the only type that resists Bug but is weak to Poison is Fairy, and Bug is not super-effective against any of the types resisted by Poison, to say nothing of the utter lack of coverage Helpmee has against Flying, Fire, or Rock-types that can swiftly crush it with a variety of powerful physical attacks. So while you might be tempted to run both Bile Blast and Belch in the same moveset for the sheer joy of nuking certain opponents out of existence, you'll quickly notice that this isn't very wise.

"The genome of a Ribombee apparently combined with that of a human when it was traded, enabling it to evolve into a very strange form. Its pitiful outward impression conceals a cruel intellect, manipulating others to do its bidding."
"A group of Helpmee is called a 'laboratory' - an apt descriptor for their insatiable curiosity and a love of dangerous experiments. When threatened, they spray a glowing, acidic spit that can inflict all kinds of bizarre and deadly effects."

The original pitch I had in my head for this line was a Bug/Dark housefly that eventually took on traits of robber flies and the demon Beelzebub, but ultimately I got carried away with the idea of a mad scientist fly instead, homaging both movie versions of The Fly wherein a teleporting accident causes the protagonist to swap body parts with a housefly... fatally so. The trading evolution is an inverted nod to this, wherein human DNA somehow gets mixed into the bug's genome in the vein of the 1986 remake with Jeff Goldblum as poor Seth Brundle. Adding in more and more mad science traits led me to swap Dark for Poison, as flies tending to be attracted to dirty places in fiction alongside their regurgitating digestive fluid to feed led me to think of the crazy chemical experiments and concoctions typical of fictional scientists as well. I did want to include a reference to mutated Hox genes giving fruit flies arms instead of antennae, but in the end I decided that it was better off without that nod, as it's already pretty overstuffed with mad science-y things as it is. I'm still really fond of how it turned out, though, twisted though it may be!

Ubertrainer2000: I think it's been said on the Discord server already, but your Kantonian Bounsweet variant seems like a bit of a stretch conceptually - it's basically a fruit somehow becoming a glass bowl. Either adjust the flavor so it stays as a plant (maybe even re-adding the Grass-type to it) or rename Kantonian Bounsweet and Steenee as convergents instead. The same suggestion applies to your Future Smoliv line, though since it's essentially a future Paradox with a few extra steps, it might get a pass flavor-wise with a couple of tweaks? Still, better safe than sorry in both cases.

Competitive Info: Just the stepping stone for its evolution. However I figured its defensive stats are kind of insane for an eviolite mon. So as this doesn't defensively outshine its evolution, I made its ability a detrimental one that makes it far less viable of an eviolite choice.

"No land-based destination in Johto can reasonably sustain the heat Turtonators are used to back in Alola. To adapt to this landscape, they went underwater, maintaining warmth through the hydrothermal vents on Johto's seabed."

Competitive Info: Defensive Pivot. Its Physbulk, defensive typing, and Water Physcial punish w/ Coral Trap allows it to act as a well-needed defensive check to Yamatang, a current offensive threat in the meta with very few current answers. Defensive sets might look smth like Coral Trap (or Wave Crash) / Draco Meteor / Head Smash / Flip Turn, or I could even see going full offense with Shell Smash instead of Flip Turn (although given its atrocious speed, shell smash would purely be there for boosting attacking stats ngl). If its determined to be too much, Shell Smash could be removed as a nerf.

"The coral on its shell has become self-sustaining. When attacked, sections of the coral break off, and Coramata can launch these fragments back with powerful force."
"Its shell has properly adapted to handle the heavy coral upon its back without softening. This coral doesn't only aid in its own protection, but also provides cover for various fish Pokémon."
