Cloyster
- Blizzard
- Clamp
- Rest
- Explosion

Cloyster's sky-high Defense and access to Rest, Clamp, and Blizzard allow it to constantly switch into and wall Snorlax as well as Tauros. Blizzard puts pressure on the aforementioned two and threatens to freeze Pokemon that try to absorb it, mainly Chansey, Starmie, and Alakazam. Clamp immobilizes the foe and gives Cloyster the opportunity to switch out for free—RBY's version of pivot moves. It also works extremely well with paralysis; if the opponent doesn't have something faster and healthy, such as Starmie or Alakazam, Clamp is able to spread massive amounts of chip damage against the opponent's entire team until either a timely miss occurs or the opposition chooses to sack. Cloyster works best as an early switch-in to Snorlax, where it can absorb the likely Body Slam and begin to force progress with Blizzard and Clamp, and then blow a hole in the opposing team with Explosion later on when its job is taken care of. Sing Chansey is the most common sleeper on Cloyster teams, as Cloyster provides a sturdy defensive backbone, especially against Snorlax, for Chansey. Jolteon is also an excellent partner to help against Starmie and Zapdos.
