Tournaments RBY C+ Tournament - $30 Prize! [Round 4 Swiss]

Due to the signup count being just over 48, here's what we're going to do:

This will be a 4-round Swiss tournament with a top cut of 24. This means 4-0 and 3-1 players will automatically make the final bracket (3 and 12 players respectively), and then the 18 players with a 2-2 record will play a final match for the remaining 9 spots. In other words, 3 wins total gets you into the top cut, with a last chance match for 2-2 players. To incentivize playing matches for 3-0 players in the fourth round, any player that goes 4-0 will be guaranteed to match against a player that went 2-2 in the Swiss for the first round of the top cut. Top cut will be a standard single elimination bracket. All matches are Best of 3.

Since this is an exploration of a potential future RBY UU metagame, I wanted a format with the best possible balance of total matches played, meaningful matches (matches that actually count toward tournament progression), and time to run the tournament. A double elimination would run 2 more weeks and have about 30 fewer matches played, a full swiss would result in all matches becoming meaningless after taking a single loss, and a single elim would have far too few matches to even begin exploring this meta. Ultimately, I settled on this hybrid format because it has a generous cutoff, meaning far more matches will count for something (essentially, only those who go 0-3 in the first 3 rounds are out of the tournament with matches remaining to play) while still rewarding those who perform better.

As noted in the round one post:

I can't confirm contact that isn't on smogon walls or posted in this thread, if you're going to schedule privately the onus is on you to make the tournament host aware before subs go out.
 
If you’re going to enforce a lesser common rule to tours then please actively give a direct timeframe instead of saying a broader timeframe. You’re now denying a guarenteed matchup because we didn’t schedule publicly. My opponent shouldn’t be forced to reschedule with someone without a confirmed availability when I immediately informed you after the fact that we have already scheduled and intended on playing the match. I would have made this argument as well if my opponent had been the one subbed out.

How would a different timeframe have helped here? You had almost 4 full days to make me aware of your scheduling and failed to do so, if you do not put the minimum effort to make the host aware then expect to be subbed. This is not a "lesser common rule," nearly all smaller indivs do substitutions midweek for inactive players. It sucks for you and your opponent but it's a direct result of negligence in scheduling that could be corrected by easy steps such as not locking your wall or posting in this thread or sending me a DM to let me know you scheduled.
 
This time only I'm going to reverse 2 of the subs, but for future tours I am putting

SCHEDULE PUBLICLY OR YOU MAY BE SUBBED

at the top and bottom and enforcing it. Please read the rules of tournaments you join, there are people in as subs that want to play these tournaments and I don't have any way to know who didn't contact and who contacted privately if you don't make me aware.

Anyway, for the following list of players contact me by tomorrow morning my time (10am -8) to confirm you contacted your opponents or you will be at risk of getting subbed:

If you got subbed but already had a match scheduled with your prior opponent, notify me and play the match; if not, the substitution stands. ~15 hours from now I'll finalize and give extensions as needed.

Gangsta Spongebob vs Goombatower69 is good to go ahead, jam vs ExguardiaN was no contact on either side so the substitution stands and is now jam vs PHB11677

Sorry, i wasn't online at all during holidays and had responded to CrapAtRBY initial message earlier today and asked them when exactly they wanted to play on sunday. Hopefully a exception could be made and again sorry for the inconvenience.

CrapAtRBY was a sub provided after 4 full days to contact your initial opponent, unlike the other cases where contact was made ahead of time but failed to be reported, unfortunately the substitution will stand
 
I've been on the smogtours and normal showdown servers for the past 30min waiting for my opponent, and the showdown username in their about section hasn't gotten online, nor have they responded to the profile message saying that I'm online. I don't want to call act because of how flexible my schedule is, but it's looking like I'll have to.
