Rate My team (team is built around Gyarados)

Gyarados Item: Gyaradosite
Jolly intimidate(mold breaker ME)
252 atk,252 spe, 4 hp Jolly
Dragon dance
Stone edge
Waterfall
Earthquake

My main pokemon on my team. The reason I picked this pokémon is because Rotoms are pissing me off nowadays. Also with 1 or 2 dragon dances up I can outspeed common ou pokes like Noivern and keldeo and can also leave a mark on the opposing pokemon. Also when mega evolving into a half dark type it is good to get one full type resistance.

Chandelure Item:Choice scarf
252 spatk,252 spe, 4 def
Ability: Infiltrator. Nature: choice scarf
Shadow ball
psychic or memento
Energy ball
Fire blast

This pokémon is on my team mainly because when gyarados mega evolves it has a type weakness to Grass and my Chandelure can take care of it. Also my Chandelure takes care of rapid spinners. I have psychic on my pokemon right now but I am thinking about putting memento on my team because If a pokemon is to strong on the opposing team I can send out my Chandelure to use memento to make things easier. When raring this team please tell me what I should use.

Noivern Item: choice specs
252 spatk,252,spe,4 hp
Timid infiltrator
Draco meteor
U-Turn
Flamethrower
Hurricane

This pokemon is more of a filler on my team. A good fast pokemon and good special attacker was needed and this is what I came to.With choice specs draco meteor It is mostly a guaranteed OHKO on most of the ou threats these days. But when choosing this pokémon I had a hard time choosing between this and Latios. Please tell me which one is better.

Conkeldurr Item: Flame orb
252 atk,252 spdef,4 def
Adamant Guts
Drain punch
Payback
Bulk up
Poison jab

My somewhat bulky pokémon on the team. Some of you may be thinking:Why does he not have leftovers on his Conkeldurr. The reason is if someone is about to burn, or paralyze my pokémon me and predicts my switch into conkeldurr My ability will never be activated. So thats why I have the flame orb and with a bulk up then drain punch I probably be getting bank more than half of my health each turn.

Excadrill (Air balloon)
252 atk,252 spe, 6 hp
Adamant mold breaker
Earthquake
Protect
Rock Slide
Rapid Spin

This pokémon is on my team because to get hazards off my side Also If someone is going to use Earthquake then I could switch into this. And the thing is if there is a ground type out they can't kill me in one hit so that guarantees me at least one free turn. Mold breaker takes care of rotom or bronzong.

Mamoswine(Focus Stash)
252 atk,252 spe,4 def
Jolly thick fat
Earthquake
Ice shard
stealth rocks
Icicle crash

My hazard Setter. Also an exceptional attacker with good enough speed to outspeed most pokemon. Also it is a great revenge killer and has a type advantage against most common types in the ou tire. Also with the rocks it can break smeargle`s focus stash or dragonite`s multiscale. It is a very good pokemon overall. Also with the stash it can at least get up rocks then maybe finish with ice shard or if I am fast enough an icicle spear and maybe a flinch.

This is the end please tell me if there is anything in this team I should change or the pros and cons. Also tell me what pokemon or item or move I should change. Every decision helps!

Hi there! Make sure to read how to make a RMT! Also, try to make your team format look like something like this as it is clearer:

Pokemon @ Item
Ability: x / y / z
EVs: x / y / z
x / y / z Nature
- move1
- move2
- move3
- move4

Also, add longer descriptions, so team raters can have a better sense on what role each pokemon plays/what you want them to do!

Try changing your exca set by giving it a scarf. It outspeeds almost everything and hits very hard. Even if you have to switch after rapid spin it is worth it. And why do you have protect? You would be better off iron head to destroy fairies (even tho your conkeldurr has poison jab it is weak to fairies and the non stab attack is probably pretty weak anyways). Oh yeah and latios is Much more powerful than noivern. Latios is base 110 speed and max timid will still outspeed most of ou. It is also much more powerful with base 130 sp attack compared to noiverns base 97. It can also take a hit as well with good bulk as well as not having to be locked into a move due to specs

If you're running choice scarf on Chandelure I would consider using a set like this.

Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire / Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252speed / 4 SpDef
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Trick / HP Ice / HP Ground

Generally the same set with the inclusion of Trick, which can cripple stall mons locking them into one move, or a hidden power. HP Ice handles things like garchomp while HP Ground helps with handling mons such Heatran.

As mentioned above I would consider replacing protect with something like Iron Head on excadrill for fairy coverage. For Gyarados I would consider using Ice Fang instead of Stone Edge. Waterfall and Earthquake generally cover anything that Stone Edge would've hit anyways and Ice Fang helps with dealing with mons such as M-Venasaur.

Use Knock off on Conkeldurr instead of Payback. Knock off is a lot stronger getting a huge boost if the opponent holds an item.

Also, try Assault Vest Conkeldurr! It is way better than Flame orb as it makes Conkeldurr bulkier- and harder to kill. You can then switch into annoying things such as Rotom-Wash and take the will-o-wisp, and benefit from it! Try this set:

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Mach Punch / Bulk Up
- Ice Punch

I hope this helps, and good luck! :)

You can't use Bulk Up with Assault Vest. I suggest using Toxic / Flame Orb if using Bulk Up (retain the old set).

Anyway, I'll just give a few suggstions:
  • Whenever you have a poke weak to SR, it's recommended to have an odd number in HP to be able to switch in at least 2 (x4 Rock weakness) or 4 (x2 Rock weakness) times into SR without dying. That being said, move those 4 HP EVs on Gyarados and Noivern somewhere else.
  • Noivern and Chandelure have access to Switcheroo and Trick respectively. I suggest replacing U-turn and Memento / Psychic with those moves to cripple special walls who would switch in. However, retaining Psychic on Chandelure is a good way to hit Mega Venusaur. Also, try out Flash Fire on Chandelure.
  • Protect is pretty weird on Excadrill (on Doubles it could've been normal). I suggest replacing it with Iron Head or even Stealth Rock.
  • If you run Stealth Rock on Excadrill, you can replace you Mamoswine with Offensive Mamoswine. Simply replace Sash with LO and Stealth Rock with Superpower.
  • Everything the guys above said about AV Conk.
Hope I helped and good luck with your team!

Oh right, I made a typo there! Yeah, you cannot use boosting moves if holding an Assault Vest, so use Mach Punch and ignore that slash on Bulk up. :] Thanks to NotBruceWayne for pointing that out!

Gyrados cant handle megasaur anyways, ice fang does virtually nothing with thick fat
252 Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Ice Fang vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Venusaur: 102-120 (28 - 32.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

I dont like putting SR on rapid.spin support. For exca to be a good spinner it needs scarf. Iron head is the best play. Too many bulky fairies. And non scarf exca can be outsped and killed easily

Although this is true for a defensive set the general idea is that you would've set up Dragon Dances prior to M-Venusaur's switch in, so it wouldn't be too much trouble. Yes if it was 1v1 it would be difficult for M-Gyarados to take on a defensive M-Venusaur. Also Jownage, although the calc is correct for a Jolly M-Gyarados and Bold M-Venusaur, realize that Mold Breaker negates effects such as Thick Fat anyways. Just wanted to point that out.

Forgot whoops but its still weak. And venusaur with any spa investment 2hkos with giga drain. And you might not 2hko after giga drain restore
